i now want to install the original windows of that.
plz tell me from where i can download the windows and how to install it?

I'm also looking for a WM6 Official rom for my imate JAMin.
Not interested in the cooked roms as they are full of other junk which I don't need.
i'm using a wm6.1 rom cooked by wapvirus and works a treat, even with the latest spb mobile shell and android theme.
as far as i know, official roms give you less ram and storage space to play with and i really can't go without the finger-friendlyness of wapvirus's cooked roms.
you could try some of the ultra clean roms

Hi there, ive looked through all the different forums and am confused! (newbie type confused :S). I have an ) O2 Mini Xda S and it is currently running WM5. If anyone can help, please can i request two ROM file downloads.
1. The original ROM file that is currently on the phone incase i flash and do not like and
2. A WM6 ROM upgrade file and if possible WM6 proffesonal.
I would really like WM6 proffesional but WM6 (the origianl one) would be brilliant. It boots up on G4 (2.xx.000x) and this is what im most confused about, wheter the upgrade is for G3 or G4. please someone help!!! Also ive heard the faria upgrade is good but not sure whether to go down that route or not.

1. get the original ROM from your carrier. for instance, you can download the TMO version from their website.
2. read stickies before posting and follow this:

3. pick any of the many WM6 roms here and flash.
4. since you have a G4, make sure you read the part about G4 flashing in the above thread.
thanks for that, i have had a look on O2's site but they do not have any original ROMs or anything at all for my mini xda. I dont know why because its a popular phone as far as i am aware :S

I'm so confused guys! I downloaded this ROM and am trying to get it installed on my phone. Can someone please give me a complete walkthrough on how to do this? Like step by step, everything I need to download, etc.?

You have to install Hard-SPL first to be able to install this ROM.

Awesome, now running 6.1 on my Treo . Which 6.1 ROM do you guys think is the best? I used the one that I linked to in my first post which i found on these forums.
Also I dont need to flash the radio or anything do I? All I did in that Hard SPL thing was just the Hard SPL, not the radio unlocker and all that (what is that anyways?).
Also what's the deal with the SMS style in the WM6.1 cooked ROM? Font is huge lol. Everything else seems cool though.

Which radio do you guys think is best/most stable/best service? I'm pretty sure I'm on 1.54.07 or something like that (I'll check once my Treo is done rebooting).
My TREO after flash to WM6.1 view in about FW 1.12c.00..... its O.K or No?

Before everybody tackles you, let me answe this lol
If you have an official WM6.0, you'll need hardspl to install ANY custom ROM. Just install that and then choose the ROM of your likings (many chefs and ROMs out there).

You are making a confusion: the ROM itself (as in Read Only Memory) is the Windows Operating System (among others).
If you have WM6.0, that means you are running a WM6.0 ROM.
If you want WM6.1 you will need to upgrade to WM6.1 ROM.
This is where you are making the confusion: to upgrade to WM6.1 = to "burn" (aka flash) a WM6.1 ROM.

hmm.. i think i understand wht ur saying. if i flash a WM 6.1 rom into my phone i would have WM 6.1. and if i have a WM. 6.1 rom and i want a 6.0 rom i simply need to just flash a 6.0 rom onto my phone. correct?
so there is no need for the extra step, of me having to update before i flash a 6.1 rom on to my phone.
essentially, flashing a rom is "Updating" in the sense i think you had in your first post in this thread. There is no need to update anything on your stock ROM because you are entirely replacing it.
It's similar to reformatting a XP computer that's Vista capable and putting Vista on it. (Not that I would recommend that anyone do that to their poor PC.)
However, before you flash, make SURE you have followed all the steps and guides to CID (Security) Unlock your phone and have HardSPL installed properly, otherwise your Kaiser will be a $450 paperweight. SIM (Subsidy) Unlocking is NOT the same as CID unlocking, so make sure you've done it right before trying it out.

A piece of advice when posting and especially as you are wanting to flash your device...... You need to read a whole heap first and understand what you are doing..... if you do not you will end up bricking ur device and end up a shiny paperweight....
Suggest you read the wiki page and as pilot says the relevant section on xda, and please dont flash if u dont understand the process because we will only see you in here asking for more help on how to unbrick yes?

ps before my first flash i read for hours and days, making sure i understood what was happening, why it was and what to do if it went wrong. My first flash on my prophet didnt go right, but i knew after reading more why and how to correct it.

THe universal is an old device and hence you wont get official 6.5 rom or even a 6.1 come to that lol. If you read the wiki page above like a said before you will find a link to all official roms
so 6.1 or 6.5 will not come to my device
it means i have to use this 5.0 version only ?
lol HTC wont bring out an official 6.1 or 6.5 rom for that device, its too old and they want people to buy new devices, hence why XDA is great!!!
You only need the official 5.0 if something goes wrong, my mate had the same device and used a m2d rom which was very nice, so flash away!!

Download and keep safe an offical 5.0 rom, dont use it unless flashing to cooked 6.1 goes wrong.
There are many good 6.1 roms in the forum, so go ahead and try some when you understand what you are doing
so i dont want to try it if it is not clear that 6.1 is supported ot not
i will only do if u r 100% sure that it is supported
take a look in the universal section, you'll find many 6.1 roms there my friend

I can recommend you Tomal wm 6.1 8.5 or 8.1 ROM´s
Actually wm6.5 ROM´s are in beta and are not so stable, and if its your first time flashing go for 6.1

Sorry all but....
I am simply trying to find out how to flash my HTC TYTN II from Windows Mobile 6.1 to 6.5. The only thing I have sucessfully managed to do so far was to re-flash the orginal ROM the phone shipped with from the HTC web site. Is it a problem with my phone or is the HTC ROM update program user friendly in some way (looks identical!?) that no others here would seem not to be? I have read no end of programs that seem to need to be used or installed on the PC and\or phone but no clear set of end to end instructions when using the images from here!? I have tried 4 or 5 different ones and all lose connectivity as soon as the program starts to try and flash my phone. Fortunately pulling the battery and powering back up restores normal functionality. This leads to my final question please. Do HTC write user friendly ROM update software for their devices that work without anything else needed where no else seems to or am I missing something? If nothing else assuming I need to this manually could someone please point me to where I can finda full set of instructions please?
What other than updates that simply seem no to work on my phone am I missing soemthing. I am even more seriously considering the Nokia N97 now as Symbian updates are simple to apply and work out the box! Not like these nightmares it would seem!

WM 6.5 has been announced but not officially released, so there is no HTC update. I don't know what you have been trying to download.
The only 6.5 roms available are cooked roms derived from leaked betas of WM 6.5 or roms derived from M$ development tools packages. So if you want an HTC/M$ 6.5 rom, you are out of luck, because it does not exist.

I have AT&T Tilt, barely used, Cant get help to upgrade from manufacturer no longer support. Can you please tell me what upgrade is available and instructions on how to install. Thanks very much Lost.
