Hi all!
My Tilt is having a weird problem, which started all of a sudden today morning.
No matter how muchever i try, the phone radio does not connect to my Mobile Network. It keeps saying "searching....." till eternity.
I was using Dutty's V4 + 1.27.12.32 radio.
All was working fine till today early morning. Around 10 am i try to connect to gprs, and i am not able to, then i do a soft reset, and then i see that my phone cannot connect to my mobile network at all. My mobile network is AIRTEL, in India. The phone keeps saying "searching..." and never stops that and hence now i am not connected to my network.
I have flashed different radio roms since morning - .17, .11, .32 again but no luck. Then i reflashed it with Schaps latest 4.33 rom (wm6), but still no result.
Then i thought maybe my sim is bad, and so i put my wife's Vodafone sim, and that worked! (Vodafone works on a different band than Airtel. this i know coz i have a SonyEricsson Mobile handset 3g-enabled of "3" from australia which works only with Vodafone in India, and not with any other network)
Then i put my sim back and it doesnt work again. While my sim is working perfect in my wife's iPhone.
can someone please help me in this, and tell me what i can do?
i wonder if the phone is somehow network locked or something like that ?
i sure did HARDSPL when i first got the TILT one month back.
Please suggest what can i do to get it back up. Its really strange as its been working perfect till today morning 8am.
Thanks a lot guys!
Hmm, try a hard reset then a factory rom flash. Then try to flash a rom then flah it with a different radio.

Thanks for the advise, tried all that, and nothing works.
The problem remains the same.... the phone works on a particular band that Vodafone works on. but is not taking my Network providers band.
is it possible that due to the flashings done in general, has partially fried the Radio hardware inside it?
Please help me guys! am in real bad shape without the phone now!
!BUMP!
Please Help me guys...i am really stuck with this, and there is no way i can get it repaired here too, as its not launched yet in my country.
ITs just that the phone has stopped working on a particular GSM Band...
Thanks a lot.
Again asking for help guys..please suggest me what i can do to get it right? isnt anyone having any idea of it...?
I am really desperate, please help!
Thanks a ton!
ps. i am now trying to download a wm6.1 rom and radio and try flashing with that and see if it rectifies the problem...
!BUMP!
I have tried flashing with wm6.1 and respective radio with that, and still no luck..
No one got any solution for this ??? any adivse at all?

Hey Everyone,
Long time reader, had a Touch pro since Feb this year and have loved every minute of it.. no probs with apps and upgrading ROMs etc...
Till Saturday night.. Took a phone call, and everything worked fine... Then on Sunday morning i had no reception, checked all settings, appeared to be in order, though im no guru...
I rang 3 and they checked everything on their end, and still no go...
I know its not the service as my SIM works in another 3 Phone...
Is there anything i can try to troubleshoot or settings/software i can change to get reception again?
Thanks people!
Something else i thought i should add is that when you turn it onto manual, it shows Telstra, Optus Yes, Vodaphone AU, and sometimes 3Telstra, but no 3?
check if "Call Barring" is enabled or not
Hey i tried checking the call barring, but it said it wasnt able to as there is no network...
Have you tried to flash another radio?
I dont know too much about flashing and all that, could you recommend one please?
As I do not have a TP I canĀ“t recommend you wich one is better, but here you can find all available and then you can ask in the proper TP section

Hope it helps,
Ive tried flashing a few new radios. None of them worked, looks like hardware fault...
Thanks for your help!
Hi guys
This is the first time ever I am trying an android phone out coming from an iPhone 4.
So basically I got my nexus s yesterday it said it was on vodafone but I understand the nexus s is fully unlocked. Anyway yesterday I put in my o2 sim and it worked out the box making calls etc. I rooted it and everything was fine. This morning I used the gps for a trip to work it worked perfectly. I could connect to the 3G network etc.
When I came home in the evening I tried to make a call and it said emergency calls only but it doesn't let me make any calls! I have hard reset it. Tried different roms. Erased cache etc etc. Still nothing. I called o2 support and they said from their end my sim is fine and no problem with it there is no lock etc.
If I go into the diagnostic tool thing *#*#4636#*#* it says the following
Signal strength -107 dbm 7asu
Gsm service: emergency calls only
Gsm disconnects: state:dcinactivestate disconnected with last try at 12:59am fail because no error
I have no clue what's wrong please help!
nevermind, missed that you had done that
try another SIM card
i had a similar issue, and the problem was the SIM card

Some one please solve this damn issue......it is more spread in India.......tried all baseband updates but still......driving me crazy
Same problem here.
Hope may fix!..under testing..Emergency calls only!!
I was so much annoyed with this so called network drop issue 'emergency calls only' which is appearing on my moblie every now and then and while on important calls..suddenly cutdown due to network loss.
im not a techy geek to go into kernels and rewrite some of the scripts ..etc..
so i may sound silly..but pls try it out..its working for me for last 2 days without drop..may be bcoz of wat i did or may be simply dont knw still testing..so i thought to share this across and see wat others experience..
the actual thing wat i did find is that there is some .005 mm gap over the sim in sim slot so i felt it may be a cause of some not contact of sim with the slot..in some micro levels..
so i introduced a paper above the sim while inserting sim in slot then it becom tight enough to stay its in contact all times..
its simple.. but u people hv to say weather its bcoz of this it works ..
Thanks Ram..

Same issue!
hey guys,
I am facing a similar issue.
I picked up my Nexus S (unlocked) running on 4.03 from UK, but using it now in India.
Baseband version - I9023XXKI1
Kernel version - 3.0.8-ga178ab4
Build number - soju-userdebug 4.0.3 IML69C 235871 test-keys
When I use any SIM here (Airtel/Vodafone), it is getting into Emergency mode. But strangely the GPRS service works. I am able to browse, stream, email etc. I dont understand how GPRS services are working when GSM isnt?
I am unable to use my new phone! Can anyone please shed some light here...
My nexus does this also, I've only found trying different radios to help but not eliminate the problem. Also when searching for networks, manually selecting your carrier instead of having it on automatic also helped.
I had this problem the other day. I was on emergency calls only, and AT&T said it was due to an antenna outage. Then I told them my wifes phone was working.. ended up at AT&T store, no luck, etc, etc.. To put an abbreviated story of my night of pain.
I tried a ton of different radios, all would not connect to 3g or make phone calls. Until I installed UCKF1 (New Version) from the [RADIO/GUIDE/TWEAK]Radio JK1,JK8,KB1,KB2,KB3,KD1,KF1 & UCKD1,KE1,KF1 with HSPDA Tweak thread. I don't know what that radio file did, but it fixed it. And after that when I flashed other radios which were previously not working, they were working again.
I'm not sure what happened, but while this was going on radios I had used before like KB3 didn't work. Once I had UCKF1 (New Version) installed, I was then able to successfully go to any radio I tried.

I successfully slashed the fastboot files from the jellybean leak 1 onto my asian atrix 2. everything was fine and i had been using it for a couple of weeks. then i had to travel through regions without connectivity. after this even after coming back my phone was not able to recognise any network other than BSNL and 'ind' which i do not recognize. i tried switching airplane mode on and off and rebooting the phone. i also tried connecting to network manually to no avail. i am able to connect to bsnl network on another SIM, i really do not understand what is happening, i really need to sort this out and pretty soon!! i love my phone and my docomo number! someone please please help me. i do not want to consider factory reset i tried searching for similar probs through the forums but could not find any relevant results. sorry if i missed anything....

I just had to turn the assisted dialing off. Thanks for all the help anyway.
I have a HTC One S [S4]. No only GSM mode, and the registration on the network is very slow [after boot ~ 10 min.].
I tried go back to stok with RUU,but this not solved my problem. I hope this is a software issue and not hardware
Pls help me,cause I'm going crazy!
Thank you very much!
I've had that on three OneS devices plus on my wife's OneS SE. I believe it's to do with ROM/radio combination and I was never able to fully solve it. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't.

I tried a RUU [JB], if it's possible that I run ICS ruu? What do you think about it?
If you're S-OFF just try any RUU see if it helps. RUU is still the best way to deal with these odd issues.
It might be a hardware damage too, you know. The OneS had huge issues with the radio/modem part. Many devices were bugged.

Tomorrow I will try change my SIM card, cause now I can't send sms ...I don't understand: 3g connection ok, network signal ok, call quality ok, but the sms not work...Only gsm mode not working too,and the problem when I only gsm mode, I'm unreachable so the radio modul not working.
Relock, S-on, JB ruu,not work. So I will try these thing:
-change SIM

Hi people,
So here is the thing. I brother gave me a D820 purchased in the USA and I was using it just fine until one fine day, it stopped seeing my network. It supports the GSM frequencies at 2G and 3G but it isn't even discovering the network.
On Vodafone India - Now, even when I do a manual search, my network isn't visible. It was working fine earlier but it just isn't now. I have tried everything from reflashing the whole thing, to trying out a custom ROM like CyanogenMod, including the CAF builds.
I have also tried flashing the old radio and that didn't help either.
On Airtel - What is funnier is that I used another network's SIM card and it seemed to be working perfectly for a few days and then the same problem appeared there too. Only this time, it was seeing the network, only wasn't registering on to it. It couldn't be a network issue because the same SIM card worked perfectly on another device.
Request any help to resurrect my paperweight Nexus 5 into being useful again.
Thanks in advance!

So you need to give more infomation. A lot of the stuff you're saying is pointless for example (I also tried flashing the ld radio???) there are a lot of radios for the nexus 5. (reflashing the whole thing???) what ROM were you on? what kernel? when and how did it stop working? what were you doing?
Be happy I replied lol it seems like you wrote the post in one big panic of a mess. so go ahead now.

You're right. I was in a state of panic.
The problem just happened. There was no reason for it, nothing. It just stopped detecting my network.
I have tried the following builds. And radios from these build separately, because as I understand, there were some WIFI issues with Lollipop to begin with:
1. KTU84P
2. LRX21O
3. LMY47I
More pointless info: Apart from these I have also tried the latest CyanogenMod 12.1 NIGHTLY (cm-12.1-20150419-NIGHTLY) with the CAF kernel and the standard CyanogenMod 12.1 AOSP NIGHTLY build.
what ROM were you on? - I was on stock KTU84P when the network stopped getting any sort of detection from the device.
what kernel? - Stock kernel that accompanied the above ROM. The phone was not even BL-Unlocked or rooted.
when and how did it stop working? - The when is a week ago. The how is a mystery.
what were you doing? - Nothing. I just woke up in the morning and found that my device has no service. Then I tried a manual network search and my network wouldn't show up. It works perfectly on other devices, the SIM card that is.
So, now I have a phone that doesn't work on my network.

My wife's Nexus 5 D820 has the same issue. Network worked fine on 4/13/2015, but zero network service the next day, 4/14/2015.
Did your problem happen on the same day? Are you on StaighTalk also?
Her phone was on stock software and still locked. Tried everything and figured it's a problem with the phone since putting my sim card in her phone didn't fix the problem. The phone detects sim cards and their registered phone #s, but zero network service. My guess is the cell antenna hardware broke.
We bought a different phone. Wish we could fix it! It would be nice to fix this Nexus 5 that functions fine except no cell service.

My problems started in April, yes. But I am not on StraightTalk. The problem first happened when I was on Vodafone India. Now, even in manual network search, the phone doesn't discover Vodafone at all.

Hey, I have the EXACT same problem. My Nexus 5 wont detect the Vodafone network in India! I tried all kinds of stuff - flashing the original stock rom, factory reset - nothing worked. All other networks are working fine. The same vodafone sim that wont work in the nexus is working absolutely fine in other phones. I am at my wits end - did you find any solution to this yet? Please let me know.
I have also been facing the same problem on vodafone.50% of the time i am unable to make or receive calls even when signal is present and if the call connects the call receiver cant hear me.The problem is also present in al the other ROMs and rradios i have tried.
