I have downloaded the 3 version of RADIO rom
Radio 1.15
Radio 1.17
Radio 1.18
Which one is BETTER? bacause I see that Radio 1.18 DONT have windows live neither messenger.
It's different for different people and different regions/countries/Service-Providers but in my case I think the best radio by far is 1.13 ! (Sweden/Comviq-Tele2)
Tried all radios and since I tried 1.13 I havent changed.
BTW: "windows live neither messenger" has NOTHING to do with the radio version...

The OS ROM image (possibly extROM in some cases) contains the software.
As for the radio ROM, try them out and see which gives you best stability and reception. I use T-Mobile's 1.17 (from their latest ROM) and it works best for me.

Always used 1.18 since the first day I bought UNI,never had a problem.

If you had done a new radio pool (we already have some in the forum), I'd vote for 1.17.
1.18 caused me problems with some ROMs.
1.15 is fine too.
1.17 works best for me as well...

Use 1.15. With 1.17, 1.18 had problems with all roms, but radio depends on the operator as mentioned above.
i'm using 1.12 in the netherlands
Can anyone give a suggestion regarding T-Mobile in Hungary?
Also, do the GSM Crashes have anything to do with the version?

I use 1.15, tried 17 and 18 too, but I had problems with 1.18 (as I remember).
Don't really know which one is better or whether older ones works better, but I experience "crashes" time after time too! Like this: full signal -> no signal/Gprs -> searching -> back to normal. Like the Phone has been reset! Strange... I always blamed the Radio ROM, but I didn't do much to solve this...

I don't really know. I upgraded my radio to 1.13 at the time i upgraded to t-mobile rom 1.13 (the first owner sold me this baby with a portuguese i-mate 1.12 rom yuck ).
it's very stable on gprs so i wont really ever bother downgrading ahah
just upgraded yesterday to taxist rom and it's very nice, let's see what the future holds

I have a Magic from TIM Brasil and I don't know why Entel is listed on the HTC brazilian page. It is a cel company from Chile, not Brazil.
When trying to downaload the update it says the update in not aplicable.
Anyway the ROM version seems to be older than the one that came with my Magic (mine is 3.03.527.3 and the update is 2.20.515.5)

Yeah, 3.03 seems to be the only version available for the Magics that received the SenseUI update. I guess the brazilian version doesn't have anything new in that regard

I think the Magic with Radio-6.35.08.29 is only sold by carrier Claro.
You can find the 6.35.08.29 radio here. It comes from a 32A HTC Magic RUU (RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Europe_3.05.401.3_release_signed_NoDriver.exe) for Greece.

You can just upgrade the radio without loosing anything and it works just fine.

Today there was an update release for HTC Magic in Greece with Sense UI and this radio.
I personally just flashed the radio and it is working great with cursordroids' ROM.

The reason I'm asking is because I can't find any official downloads. There's nothing in this thread about HTC releasing Sense in Greek..

This update seem to be for "Sapphire" aka HTC Magic, not Hero.
You could try running this RUU but I guess it won't work without a goldcard in your phone.
Anyways, if the official Sense update is just around the corner I rather wait until it reaches my country.

It might be a new spl
But it not an engineering bootloader so alle security will be on, it might be better to wait to see if 1.76.0009 shows up in a engineering version.

I couldn't care less to be honest. Every custom rom i've tried ran like a poo, this one on the other hand is flweless. Fast, stable and everything works. Rogers will roll out an official 2.1 in a few months and that's when i will upgrade my rom.
Yeah but until then, I have a magic that won't be used because I need USB Tethering so I can do my work mobile. Still need root though to do A2SD. Oh lets not forget the other multitude of things we can't do without root. Maybe when it comes out with 2.1, it'll be rootable by default like the Nexus One. They should really give back to the OpenSource community. OpenSource is helping them sell.

I think they think it's OK that people who knows what they're doing to have rooted phones. People who knows what they are doing also know how to flash an update without getting perfect SPL. This is just a guess, but I think that if enough people who wants root is getting stuck on this SPL, they will release a way to root (just like they did with 1.76.0007).

Unfortunetaly you are correct in your statement. If you have done the latest Rogers update, that would force you to have the 1.76.0009 SPL, then at this point, you cannot change to any other SPL.
Rogers is actually 1.76.0010 SPL/HBOOT
ROM 3.05.401.3 Europe: 1.76.0009
ROM 3.05.720.3 Asia India: 1.76.0009
ROM 3.05.631.7 Rogers: 1.76.0010
In any case, I never had the 1.76.0009.
The problem with these ROMs is that you cannot downgrade the ROM to an older version. The SPL is checking for main version (first 3 digits of the HBOOT version)
Can someone confirm this? What happens when you try to goldcard the 1.76.0009 down to a lower version ROM?

i tried the goldcard method on a friends magic which he recently purchased and was already updated
it didnt work. maybe i didnt do it properly?.. the devs here are geniuses, theyll figure it out i hope.

Didn't work cause you'll need a sappimg with higher manver than the current on your phone.
There is a solution. You need a serial cable.

Hi all.
I think I've fixed the perfected SPL 1.76.0009. I took the system.img from the Indian ROM 3.05.720.3 and put together a sappimg.zip (mirror - more mirrors coming soon) [MD5SUM: 20333385aab3f209dd708507f320c1ee].
Put this in a goldcard (see my blog for the procedure of making a goldcard - use google translate in the sidebar to translate from Greek) and go in HBOOT mode by holding volume down and momentarily pressing the power button. The HBOOT should peak the sappimg.zip. Follow the on screen instructions and at the end of the procedure you should have the non perfected SPL 1.76.2007 installed as well as radio 6.35.10.18 and Amon_Ra's modified recovery for radio 6.35.xx.xx. From then on you can install whatever ROM you like (it must be for radio 6.35.xx) or downgrade your radio to 3.22.xx.xx and use the ROMs built for this radio.
I faced some signal issues with my Magic (32A) and I guess that it's the new radio's fault (6.35.10.18). How can I downgrade it? Which radio do you think that is the best?

If you have an engineering (1.76.2007) SPL you can easily downgrade by following these instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=605239
3.22.20.17 is the newest 3.x 32A Magic radio.
i recently upgraded to 2.13 for the cell series rom. but until all the bugs have been worked out id like to downgrade to 2.08 so i can use the version 1 of the cell rom. where can i find the 2.08 rom? thanx
