HELP.... how to mark all text messages as read in WM 6.1? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

I just restore my all my SMS using Jetware. The problem is that I just can't find a way to mark all my SMS in phone as read like I used to do with WM 6.
Anybody know how to mark all SMS (using Ctrl A) as read in WM 6.1?

I use Inbox Extender for this (http://blogs.msdn.com/dennisq/archive/2006/08/29/730874.aspx). It is freeware, and does exactly what you want!

Thanks for bringing this simple solution to my annoying problem (I try to mark 4000 messages as read). Really appreciate it.

I know your problem... Do allow the app some time to set the read-flags for all those messages. It will take a couple of minutes!
Good luck,
Edward

Safe Inbox Extender
There's also another release of a safer inbox extender because it asks for confirmation on destructive actions:

Group text messages like IMs?

Im trying to find an app that will group my text messages into an IM style layout. Kind of like the iphone. I bounce back and forth alot between my inbox and sent box when im having a conversation with someone, and I wish there was a way it would just group them in one window. Anyone found anything like this?

You can also try palm threaded SMS
Here is the link for the .cab
This way you don't have to upgrade to WM6.1 if you don't want to.

Problem with a ghost SMS...

Hello Everybody...
I have a little problem with my Prophet with PDAVIET 6.1 Fw...
Since a couple of day the SMS counter shows the presence of 1 new unread SMS in my inbox but there's none!!!
I tried to soft-reset and delete all messages but it's still counted as "0 Messages,1 unread"...
What a weird situation...
Is there anything I can do (I suppose I have to deal with system databases) before a hard reset?
Thanks in advance,
Bodhi3
That's very strange. It must be an error with WM.
I think there are little programs out there (in this forum as well) that resets your messages folder.
You might want to try the search engine. Just use key words like "delete" "sms folder" "format sms folder" something like that.
Sorry, can't reall you help you more than this.

SMS storage location on WM6.1

Subject says it all really - anyone know please where texts are stored using the MS default SMS app within 6.1? The threaded Palm app used to keep them in palmsgv001 but I can't find anything similar for the MS system
Thanks
Mark

If you are running exchange setup the option in your desktop outlook. Resulting email will come into your device inbox. It should not matter if the email is generated on the device or desktop but I could be wrong. Remember if they have “Ask Me Before Sending Read Receipt,” “Don’t Send Read Receipt,” or their email client doesn’t know what to do with it you may not get a Read Reply.

[Q] Is it possible to import sms messages to WP7?

as above
i have some important messages in my touch pro that i would absolutely loathe to lose, and i'm going to buy a WP7 device as my contract expires this month.
can some kind soul with a working device tell me if this is possible, or is there any article that mentions it?
Thanks
I think the myphone service should do it...
http://sn1-p3.myphone.microsoft.com/mkweb/Start.po?mkt=en-GB
oh...yeah right
i clean forgot about it since i use spb backup more
thanks for reminding me
From what I have seen and tried I can find no method to restore the SMS from an older 6.5 device to a WP7.
Were you able to find a solution?
Nope-- there are even solutions to import WM 6.5 SMSes to Android, but nothing for WP7- it's far too locked down.
thanks for the confirmation, as I have tried a million things and I even looked at the SMS store and it looks too locked down to even write a app to do it.
Has anyone had success at sync'ing SMS from Exchange? I have got it set up but the messages dont appear to sync to the phone....have I missed something?

Nope, WP7 doesn't support Exchange SMS sync (or SMS sync with anything for that matter).
Ironically this was one of the features added to WM6.5 with Exchange Server 2010, yet its successor (if you can call it that) lacks it.
Might get added in a few years' time, once other more basic deficiencies are addressed.
weird that this phone addresses the joe-average user, and I dont deny it, but not having a restore/backup function is poor and a ovesight....

That's correct, one of the best things Microsoft created for WM6 doesn't work with WP7.
If you copy your important SMSes to the SIM card beforehand they will automagically appear on your WP7 handset.
Thought of doing that but couldn't see how to do it on wm6.5 [I have another wm6.5 phone I could copy to sim if it was possible]
wow, surprised to see my thread bumped up
my sms messages run up to the many thousands
not very possible eh?
but then, i guess a suggestion would be to prune them and keep the important ones
How to copy all sms to SIM on WM6.5?
