New version here...
I have uploaded the folders of the kitchen separately, because it's easier to maintain it.
If you seriously want to cook, you will need all folders
- I have finished the new kitchen. I'll just call it 0.3, since it is based on Dr. Gonzo's kitchen and Guava ROM kitchen (so a lot of credit goes to Dr. Martin Gonzo).
- It contains only the system part and some essential OEM-packages. Others can be downloaded here.
- The kitchen also contains US-English and German, other languages can be added.
- Please check out the Wiki first, there is an article about cooking, which still applies to this one!
- It does not contain any Radios, you can download the newest here!
How to add languages:
1) Download the language you need from the ftp
There are Greek, Finnish, Hungarian, Dutch, Romanian and Portuguese.
2) Unzip the archive (they are self-extracting)!
3) You will find two folders: OEM and SYS. Copy the content of SYS to the SYS folder of the kitchen and the contents of OEM to the OEM folder of the kitchen. After adding the language you should run G'Reloc. Then, when you run BuildOS just select the right language, but only check one of the languages.
4) You can delete German language if you want. Just delete all folders with a 0407 in it in the SYS folder and language_german and OEM_Lang_0407 in the OEM folder. Do never delete English!!!
- Chinese is not working so far
This is the about screen of the German ROM!
Ohhh... lot's of thanks man! This is just what I was looking for...
Someone (I guess you or Dr Gonzo) could make a little how to on how to get a working kitchen from a shipped rom? I tried by myself twice and I always end up with BuildOS dropping an error...
Anyway, thanks a lot!
There seems to be a bug in Buildos (well I think it's one, but I haven't been able t get in contact with Bepe toi talk abot it)
Anyway the tricky part is that Buildos always want a special dsm file in OEM_LANG409 folder (not sure about the name of the folder)
Here is what you can try : take the dsm file in that folder from Frauthotelmann new kitchen and put it in yours.
But before that take the .dsm and .rgu and put them in a folder (any name you want) you will create in the OEM foler.
Thank you frauthottelmann for creating the thread on this new kitchen !
Will this work on a Windows Vsta machine?
Hello,
I saw this great Rom Kitchen project and wanted to check it out. But when double click on the Build.bat on my Vista machine, i get the text based screen. When i select 1, 2, 3,... and press enter, nothing happens.
Is this supposed not to operate on vista machines?
Thanks, Olaf
Yeah we noticed that problem with Vista a couple of times before. Try right clicking and select "Execute as administrator" or so. Maybe then it works!
Hi!
There's a bug on the Splash Screen creation part. It's just the directory name.
The original Kitchen's folder name was:
2.Edit
This kitchen's folder name is:
2. Edit
You'll have to change the directory name and remove that blank space on folder name to make the splash screen work again.
Apart from that, the original windows.nb is missing, so you have to get it from the original rom file...
Everything else works fine for now!
Are these your own languages pack or the one I made for my rom ? because I havent' tested any of them right now.
If they are yours have you tested them ? And if so can I borrow them for my rom release ?
I already noticed the problem with the splash screen creator, took care of it. But I changed the *.bat!
Nope they are from your language kitchen, but if you took them from a 1.34 ROM they should work, I did the same for German and it works fine! I have to rupload all of them anyways, because I took the et9 files out and made a seperate folder for them!
Where is the spanish language?
Thanks
Well, it looks like we don't have a package for Spanish! Make one if you can find a Spanish ROM!

OK - maybe this is the same problem I have been having. Unfortunately, neither doing this nor moving the .dsm file makes any difference for me - Buildos just crashes straight away...any other ideas how to get this running?
Ok Frauhottelmann here is my "discovery" about languages pack. You know I had a lot of troubles making my french language packs (and probably others) to work. Well I've been able to if I replace the base rom used for reconstruction (the nb file in \ROM). For exemple if I use the ARA ROM instead of the latest htc 1.34 WWE French works perfectly!
So languages have to be somewhat supported by the base rom.
SO you'll probably have to make different .nb files available. Or maybe we can find a base rom that supports all languages ..
But using the ara as a baserom doesn't appear to be a perfect solution, because I've lost mms option in the messaging app for exemple.
So it really look like I'll have to wait for htc to fix their damned french rom update
Mh OK we'll have to find a ROM with as much languages in it as possible! How many are in the WWE version of the 1.34?
The languages I have left on my server + some others work although they are not in the rom : for exemple Czech works. I don't know if others do.
I suppose the problem resides in mxip_lang.vol..
Anyway I have WWE and Nordic versions of the 1.34 rom. I'm writing a little guide now and updating\testing a few languages pack. I hope I will be able to release them today if I have time.
I hope I can finally finish the uploading tomorrow from a friends internet connection, since I am not able to finish a complete upload here. Once this is done the kitchen should work and I am off skiing for a week! cya guys
i am still encounting the buildOS.exe crash on vista. are there some fixes done or some workarounds which lead to a working kitchen?
thx to all you guys for your great work
Hm I uploaded a new Version uf the build.bat which seemed to fix the problem under Vista. You always have to use the bat to open builos, otherwise it will crash! Look on the ftp, I uploaded in parts, so you can just download the folders with bats!
Is it possible to build/cook any dumped ROM with this kitchen or is it just for New Guava?
Roland
It's trial and error, because you have to extract the ROM, but there are usually some rgu s missing. And you have to change the base ROM in the ROM folder to the new one.

Ok. How do you convert .raw files into .nb & .nbh files?

Installed fine on my SDAII. Works over wi-fi but not over GPRS as with other versions I've tried. Still can't figure why it won't connect on GPRS. I know my settings are right. Everything else works great over GPRS. I was told to chedk for latest radio, but as far as I know I am on the latest(listed on my signature). Any ideas why no GPRS connection?
go settings menu. select connections from menu (right soft key) then select advanced. You will see advanced menu. do not change connections. again from menu select options. change my desktop connects to value "the internet". push done button. then try again connect with gprs/edge connection. i think your problem will end.
WLM cannot use a proxy server. So if your GPRS connection is though a proxy, then you can only use a 3rd party software, like EQO for example.

Excelent work.....!!! THX for the answer, i 've read the VOX threads and those phones became a new ROM for few days ago. I'll extract the install files from your CAB and I will make them available for PPC device users at the thread showed above. You will receive the corresponding credits.
THX again.
I've installed on my device memory but doesn't run...
I've a WM6 Platinum rom on I-mate SP5.
Can you help me?

yes it's an update but includes all of neccessary files. ciccio83a did you uninstalled old version windows live and reboot your phone?
Whoops, you're right, I wasnt paying close enough attention, they split those dll's into seperate files by dpi.. thats what I get for comparing it inebriated at 5 am
The OEM is still valid, just remove the extra dll's I added (sort by date, newer dated ones)

There's something can I do?

its the Internet Sharing Package, maybe there is a duplicate in there somewhere
ok deleted the OEMMISC folder after trying it keep givin me same thing but different file names all where in there fixin to run and see wat i get
this wat i got next
is this the first rom you re trying to cook? (legitament question)
you need to remove each file one by one for each duplicate file... untill there are no more errors.
you may get an error later consernig the building of registry. that will most likely be caused by rgu's find out what rgu is causing it by removing each rgu one by one (placing it back each time you switch to another package)
it may just be something having to do with file associations with wmp.
good luck
Make sure to remove all the OEM* folders from the SYS and Place them in the OEM Folder. This makes it much easier to weed out duplicate files in your SYS folder. As for the last screenshot. Never seen that one.

Easiest way is to put it in the tools folder. Dude have a go at HyperCore .. everything you need is included in the package and its newbie friendly. I built my 1st 19199 rom using this
i am using HyperCore i get that error with HyperCore
ok nvm i figured it out i got my nk.nbf but i dnt get my wizard til this weekend and idk wats on the ROM lol still lookin at it im such a newb
heres wat i did
From HyperCore\Panel\Extract ran 1. Dump Rom
Selected option 1 after dumping the rom to start package tool
Selected option 2 in package tool (automatic no backup)
Selected option 4 to move OEM and SYS to HyperCore\Build directory
Selected option 5 to move os.nb to HyperCore\Build\ROM directory
Update the SYS with 5.2.20273
Updated the XIP with 5.2.20273
Ran Build ROM option 1 then option 2
Nuthin in the OEM but the must have files and SVI Camera so i guess i just have a base WM 6.1?

Hey,
I am not sure if this gonna help u but I hope so.
I had the same problem with hebrew and these are the steps I did in order to add hebrew support (only reading) on my G1.
1. Downloaded modifded RC30 that published here
2. Unpack it
3. Replace those files:
-DroidSans.ttf
-DroidSans-Bold.ttf
-DroidSansMono.ttf
with other fonts (in my case I took Arial fonts which is also ttf files and rename them to the names I wrote to u)
* All fonts are under /system/fonts/
4. Zip again to update.zip
5. SignAPK with the android source tesk_keys
6. update my device via recovery mode
You have all the info here in the forum on how to install modified recovery image and how to install new update file, the only thing you have to do is replace the fonts like I told u.
Good Luck...
You can go to http://www.ascendercorp.com/news/open-handset-alliance/
to find the supported language.
I do not know Vietnamese, but I found japanese and chinese language there
I added chinese language xml to many apps and compile them myself then added them to system/app directory, zip again to update.zip then update to my devices, and it works.
the app resource files do not contain other languages's xml files in the original release.
I can't check I'm using OTA RC30 Someone please check these ways, I will send you all file and link to check any language you want.
Send me an message : or send me an email :
I haven't tried but what if we do it this way.
adb shell
su
cd /system/fonts
rm
push /system/fonts/

If you remove your font file, you will not restore when your device has problem, you device will be bricked. Should use "mv" to move font file to anoher folder and test with new font.
But I think they will not work. You need add it to update.zip and use signapk, if the update work, you're succcess
Is there a way to replace the system apps of the official OTA RC30 such as alarmclock, settings etc. with a new one which is built out by ourselves?

- To cook your own ROMS based on 6.0 or 6.1 builds
- Porting XIP and SYS from newer builds to your ELF(in)
- Add / Remove APPS or COMPONENTS from OEM and SYS structure
WHERE CAN I GET THIS KITCHEN
[HERE]
INSTALLATION [As guided by kokotas]
1. Install on your pc Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package and Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5!
2. Remove any previous version(if any)of the kitchen(shortcuts too) before "installing" the newer!
3. The archive should be extracted directly to the Drive where Windows are installed (most cases C:\), otherwise nothing will work!
4. Once you do that, go into C:\ELF(in)_Hybrid_Kitchen and double-click "First_Run_For_ELF(in)_Hybrid_Kitchen.bat"!
5. IF you're using Windows Vista, make sure USER ACCESS CONTROL is turned OFF!
A. THE BASICS
- Download any shipped roms for elfin. Do your homework on searching!!!
- As an example i m using the "RUU_Elfin_hTC_Asia_India_3.07.720.03_4.1.13.71_03.34.90_BLUE_Ship.exe"
- Download this file on your desktop or anywhere you want and RIGHT CLICK on the file and extract the contents of this file (WinRar is needed)
- You will get lots of files including RUU_signed.nbh. Keep this file in mind and lets move to Cooking
B. COOKING
1. Extracting the ROM.
a. Start the kitchen by Clicking Main Menu on your Desktop
b. Select the option "a" and hit ENTER.

}
c. As shown, this folder opens automatically. Place the RUU_signed.nbh extracted previously in this folder and CLOSE the folder.
d. Once you close the above folder, the following menu below will appear. Select the option "1" and hit ENTER.
e. Please wait for a while as the ROM is extracted as shown by the following screen below.
f. Once the extraction is done, the following screen will appear and the folder below will open.
This folder contains the Packages [OEM + SYS] and XIP folders (files) needed only to build your CUSTOM rom file. Go back to the menu screen and hit any key to continue...
Now the extraction of your SHIPPED ROM is finished. Lets move to cook your first CUSTOM ROM...
Rebuilding the ROM Structure!
ROM Structure:
You need to understand and know that a ROM consist of three main elements or folder structure as highlighted below.
OEM - This part is specific to the device manufacturer and consist of applications and programs made from their side. An excellent example is the Manilla 2D and 3D made by HTC for the HTC Devices
SYS - This is the Operating System by Microsoft. This is the part along with XIP, which gets updated and modified every now and then and is referred to as newer Builds whenever an update is released.
XIP - The kernel part of the Operating System by Microsoft which handles all the executions and memory management of your device.
In Short: Without these three structures in place, dont even think about playing with a kitchen..so lets move on to build the rom
2. Rebuilding the ROM Structure.
a. so this is the folder where you ended up after your ROM was extracted. Or just remember this is the path or folder where you need to be...(\Extract_ROM\Temp)
b. Open the PACKAGES folder and COPY the SYS and OEM folder as they are. At this stage DO NOT try and mess around with the contents inside them. Remember this is your first cooking...
c. Go to the Path as shown below (\Build_ROM) and PASTE and REPLACE the existing SYS and OEM folder inside (\Build_ROM). Besides if you have freshly installed the kitchen SYS and OEM folder are empty anyways..
d. Come back to (\Extract_ROM\Temp) and COPY the XIP folder ONLY!!!
e. Now go to the path as shown below (Build_ROM\ROM) and PASTE and REPLACE the existing XIP folder inside (\ROM). Dont worry or play with the extra 2 files inside (\ROM). These will be explained to you later on...
GOOD!! Now you have completed the stage of relocating the SYS, OEM and XIP folder after an extraction, into their relevant places and where the kitchen will do the rest of the work. So relax and enjoy the break and come back to Creating the ROM if you are still good to go...
hehehe
Do NOT follow this pictorial yet!!!
There will be changes once editing is done....just keeping you all informed...
this tutorial is courtesy to heartsurfer008 who seems very keen on learning how to cook. wish him all the best and the rest of you..get cracking at your kitchens....

and to the rest of you...thankx for the support in such a short span of time. once i m done with this pictorial i will make a pictorial for 6.5 kitchen as well...
Sir,
I hope your WM6.5 builds testing with Mega OEM is successfull so we can have a WM6.5 ROM kitchen as well.
After 2 months of playing around with this Elfin, I came into the conclusion that the only way to get a speedy ROM with all our applications installed is to cook our own ROM. All the ROMs (most of the WM6.5 available) I tested are initially fast but after some customizations and installation of programs, they all slow down significantly. To verify, check how many revolution it takes for the wait cursor to open the \Windows directory using the file manager just after flashing and after fully installing your programs!
Thanks for your recent contribution to the HTC Touch community!

SuperJustKitchen v0.9 Released.
Go to my site: http://justkitchen.info to get the updates and the info. It takes to long to update every device's forum that is supported, and I plan to support all devices, eventually.
Word of warning:
Not all EXT's have been tested or modified for the every device. Please test test and test and then let me know which packages don't work and what YOU've done to fix them. (I don't have time to fix ALL of them by myself.) Some packages will only be compatible with some devices.
(I'm no longer updating each thread separately for each device but just updating my site and posting the release info here. I will only update each thread to say that a new version is out.)
**Warning**
Before using this kitchen, you MUST read the whole thread. Any questions that have been answered will be ignored. This is your only warning.
**Disclaimer**
I am not responsible for any damage that may be done to your phone with a ROM created in this kitchen.
I am not responsible for any damage done to your computer.
I am not responsible for anything... at all.
Introducing SuperJustKitchen!
SuperJustKitchen is based on [http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=843218"]airxtreme's osKitchen Zero. All credit on for the kitchen backend goes to him.
Features
A completely stripped ROM. (Work in progress for some devices.)
LZX and XPR compression (Also option for No compression.)
Auto clean files that are language specific or DPI specific that your ROM does not need
Auto port missing language MUI files
Automatic rec'loc'ing for devices without native 6.5 nk's
6.1 and 6.5 support
Auto XIP and SYS porting
Auto NBH packing
Tool to convert OEM packages to EXT packages
Auto file conflict fix (don't have to removing older file that conflict (not that there are any. )
Save custom ROM settings (for cooks for multiple ROMs)
Cook multiple languages at the same time with the same ROM settings (Have to add language support yourself. I removed the required MUI's a while back because they made updating the kitchen and adding devices a nightmare.)
MUCH better organization of EXT packages
Active development instead of a program that is no longer being developed
Cleaner and easier to use interface
A built-in and customizable Tutorial section
And more!
Builds included
21056 - WM6.1
23658 - WM6.5 with new redesigned GUI
At the moment, this is an ENGLISH (WWE) only kitchen. This might change...
NOTE: In order for me to keep track of whether my time was well spent or wasted, if you use this kitchen to make a ROM, please either include SJK in the name or just mention that it was SJK cooked in your ROM's thread.
NOTE: This kitchen assumes that you know how to flash through SD, recover from a bad flash and are able to backtrack your steps to figure out how you broke your own ROM. If you do not understand these, please learn them first. Do not PM me asking me. I have written numerous walkthroughs on all these except on how to backtrack your steps. For that, just remember what you're doing as you do it and keep backups.
If you find any issues, PLEASE report them to the bug tracker in my website. It will help me make this kitchen better!
ENJOY!!!
Thanks for your hard work.
Thanks, I've been waiting for this. Its very easy to use, with those descriptions, and the kitchen is way better too.
Okay, tried to create an empty rom (without any non-required apps), but I get ERROR [270] : UPDATE ERROR when i try to flash it:
The image file is corrupted. Please check your Update utility.. Ideas?
Update: Even with the default Wing settings.
I am getting the same error I am trying to build a 6.1 rom. Also tried flashing via the sd card but it does not boot it.
Same problems for wm 6.5
I changed the executable last minute. I think this may be the problem. Before I say that, can one of you save your configuration and post it here for me to test.
Here is one of my test projects

It seems that the executable is the problem. Stay tuned for a fix. (The issue is with osKitchen so I have to relay the information to the programmers.)
No problem thanks for helping.
I thought it was just me not being able to get a flashable ROM..
Thank you Ivan !! That's a good job ! (I've following your posts in OndraSter's thread)
Can I mix it with the original OsKitchen for Kaiser ? Or do i must have two different OsKitchen folders ? Is it possible to use the old UI with your kitchen version (I mean, changing the executable) or you made changes to important files ?
I could never cook a decent ROM with SJK and only three (decent) ones for Kaiser. maybe now I'll be able to cook similar versions for both devices !
(not decent ROMs, of course, I cooked lots, but not able to be used by exigent people)
Unfortunately, there were some recent changes between the New GUI and the Old GUI that make it a little harder to just switch back and forth. Today, I'm going to try the newest new gui executable. If it fails as well, I'll switch over to the older style and make the appropriate changes to the kitchen file structure.
You can move most of your sources just fine. Nothing else, though.
In fact, if you don't mind, if you let me have your sources folder, I can incorporate support for the Kaiser into the kitchen, properly.
Also, can anyone do me a favor?
Go to your sources folder and delete the "_Compress" folder then try to cook and flash a ROM. If it works, then that was the problem all along... he moved the folder to another location but the kitchen still reads both.)
Got a question for you, Ivan, is the .ROM package supposed to be inserted in as well?

No, you don't need it. It's only there because I forgot to remove it when I ported that build. Newer kitchens no longer need the .ROM folder.
v0.8.2
Fixed LZX
Didn't see the ?, so I'm asking.
Can your kitchen cook RUU friendly ROMs?

All ROMs are RUU friendly as long as they are at least 50mb's large.
Mind you, your phone must be hardSPL'd for it to work.
If the ROM is smaller than 50MB, you can still flash through SD.
