Hi all,
The USB input for my O2 XDA Orbit, from where we charge the mobile phone has broken and I cannot charge the phone. The repair guy says that a pin has broken at the USB charging point and he needs the diagram to repair it.
Does any one have the circuit diagram or know from where I can get one.
Any help most welcome.

hi...
i already have the Magellan gps 315 and wanted to know if its possible to connect to the XDA II. what cables would i need etc.... it is NMEA 2.1 compliant...
thanks for any help or suggestions

I assume the Magellan communicate with a serial port?
The simple way is to get hold of a serial sync cable and a "crossover gender bender" (that is what I have for my Garmin GPS 35 at least).
This won't get your XDA II charged though... but I think there is a serial sync and power cable available.
Best regards,

hi
thanks,
there is a cable, one with bare wires for wiring yourself or a serial i think...
how do i connect it to the XDA II though...
cheers

What do you mean? The serial sync cable attaches to your XDA sync port in one end, and has a female serial connector in the other end.
Then you get a serial cable for your GPS, which will probably leave you with a female serial in the "open" end too.
This is where the "crossover gender bender" comes into action, as you'll need a male-male adapter that have some of the pins crossed (any decent computershop should be able to sell you a serial crossover cable or an adapter).

hi...
no there is a cable from magellan that attaches to the GPS and the other end there are bare wires for your own use...
could i connect to the xDA II with these wires...
thanks for all you help so far...

Yes max, you will need a plug that fits the xda though, might be an idea to also input power for the xda through the same plug.
thanks again..
where can i get a connector for the XDAII and what wires go where...
cheers

My Xda/Qtek's charging slot is loose or bent and as such I am now not able to charge it or synchronise at all. Brought to the repair shop and was told that I need to change the whole mother board as the slot is attached
to the board and it is as good as getting another one than to fix it. Seems to me that the 2 pins in the centre or the slot is bent and I cannot get the connection on when I plug the charger in unless I twist the charger to one side I then get the yellow/orange light which indicate charging.
Appreciate if someone could help fix it. Cheers.
The charging socket is part of the mainboard, I have had this in the past with ipaqs, I got a jewellers eyepiece and a very slim pin and managed to get them lined up again, I am sure there was a post today about this very problem.
Thanks for info. I managed to strip apaart the xda and then soldered the
loose charging slot. It works fine now and I save having to pay for the replacement of the main board which is not worth it and also the service
costs.
help for newbie pls?
Hi, I currently have the same problem. I also want to try the solution that cruisin-thu suggested, unfortunately, I'm not much of a techie and I'm afraid that I might damage the mainboard if I don't know which parts to move. Does anyone know of any sites that have a picture of the xda II mainboard? I'd really appreciate the help.
Hi,
Bottom connector is damaged. XDA repair centre UK want to charge me £180+ for replacing the connector and the mainboard. I have told them to return it unrepaired.
The phone functions fine. I am aiming to buy a spare battery, so I can just swap batteries instead of charging and synch using Bluetooth.
Questions:
1 - best supply of batteries in the UK (cheapest/quickest)
2 - can I repair/replace the connector myself?
3 - why do they want to replace the mainboard, as the phone functions fine?
If I was to sell, what is the best price I could hope for, as I am thinking of replacing with PDA and seperate phone?
Thanks all.
Code:
2 - can I repair/replace the connector myself?
that would depend on your tech skills if you got hold of a connector
or a broken xda1 or 2 you could solver it off and replace it that is
if it's only the connector itself
Code:
3 - why do they want to replace the mainboard, as the phone functions fine?
if it's only the connector then most likely because they cant aford having a guy sit and solver broken xda's so they work and it's cheaper and easier for them to push a new module at the costomers
Thanks for that quick reply.
2 further questions:
1 - Who can supply the connectors in the UK or abroad? Someone mentioned on the board that an IPAQ one is the same as the XDA's?
2 - Anyone in the UK who can fit these things?
Thanks!
Hi, is here anybody who knows what type of connector is used for GPS-antenna? I have XDA Orbit. I think there is MC-Card connector, is it possible?
there is no connector. There is an antenna directly connected to the pc board and no test port was added
please can someone provide me the circuit diagram of htc sensation 4g. actually, my phone's charging point (the micro USB Hub/port) was uprooted, so i took it the mechanic shop. the guy there told me that one of the point was badly damaged and could not soldered onto the motherboard. the D+ point was badly damaged. so now, when ever i connect my phone with PC, it does not recognize my phone. my Phones charges well but i can't transfer files from PC to phone because of the D+ not connected.
so, please share circuit diagram if you have. :crying:
