How to use my laptop as FTP server, and to access it from a FTP client on my smartpho - Non-Touchscreen Windows Mobile Other

How to use my laptop as FTP server, and to access it from a FTP client on my smartphone?
Do I need a wireless ruter or there is another ways?

You may use a wireless router or make a device-to-device (ad-hoc) connection if your laptop has wi-fi-adapter. And of course you need a working ftp-server on your laptop

ok I don't have wireless router.
I have a wi-fi adapter on the laptop and a GuildFTP server softoware.
How to setup everything?
Could you please explain how to set the ad-hoc profile on the laptop and what setings do I need on the smnartphone?

in a console on your laptop you can type ipconfig and have them listed
Sorry my poor English
All I need is to access my notebook's web site by my friends
so I want a real IP to tell my friend
I can browse other web site by using Internet sharing
but my friend can not browse my web site if I use my Polaris to the Internet
I found there was some HTC USB modem driver to use.
but it seems no use on the Polaris
You have a web-server active on your notebook and it is connected in lan at your home, and you want to view this website from internet when you are in your friend's home: it's right?
If I've understand, you must point at the public IP address of your home's internet access (you can find it in site like http://www.whatismyip.org/), but before this, you must forward the port 80 in your router to the private address of your notebook.
Hoping that he was quite clear...
P.S.: Also my English is not the greatest ...

It was my understanding that with Internet Sharing on WM6, clients are placed into a DMZ and all incoming connections will go to the client.
That means that your web / ftp / etc server should work fine.
However, if your mobile provider makes you use a proxy to access the internet, then incoming connections are not possible.
I'm going to bet that this is what is happening to you, and there is nothing you can do to solve this problem.

internet connection

when connected to activesync it share the connection
unless your settings on the ppc or the pc is blocking it

Remote Desktop Problems

Can someone help? I am trying to do something that may not be possible. I am trying to set my HD2 up to remotely access my computer at the office which is running Windows XP Home Edition. My office is feed via Qwest on a Actiontec Modem and has a Trendnet Router plugged into that. My computer actually plugs into the Trendnet router. I have set the settings in the Trendnet (port 3389 -both, my computer IP on the network) and set up remote desktop on the HD2 (user, password, and my ip address from whatismyipaddress) It give me an error message everytime.
Am I on the wrong track or is there something I need to do to the Actiontec Modem?

Can you SSH on Android Wireless Connection?

Can anyone tell me if you're able to SSH to other devices connected to the wireless connection created by your android phone? I'm in dire need of a password-less connection right now but not sure if it will work. Campus wireless has a stupid terminal where you need to put in your password in the web browser before using it which doesn't work for what I'm trying to do.
Yes. I can ssh (via BTEP or ConnectBot) to other machines in my LAN via WLAN.

[Q] connect nexus5 to SSh tunneling over WiFi

I have a PC with a WiFi adapter. I use SSH tunnelling on that PC. Now I want to share my Internet connection on that PC via the WiFi card to my other device,i.e., I want a way to send traffic via SSH tunnel to WiFi, for example, create a LAN connection over SSH and then share it through WiFi.
Internet => PC => SSH tunnel => WiFi => Nexus 5
Is it possible? If so, how?
