Introduction
Since the launch of Xda II mini, a few enhancements have been made to the device. This System Software Upgrade consolidates all enhancements into a single ROM upgrade. O2 encourages Xda II mini users to upgrade their devices to this system software.

What's new?
Latest updates on Microsoft Windows Mobile - latest Microsoft AKU release 2.6 for Windows Mobiles 2003 Second Edition.
MMS client - MMS client upgraded to 2.0.0.22 with improvements in interoperability.
Radio software - Tested in major operators network in Asia. Improvements on GRPS and GSM performance.
New and updated operator network settings - New additional operator settings for CTM (Macau), Orange (Thailand), Peoples (Hong Kong) and Sun Cellular (Philippines).
Resolutions to known issues
Fine-tuned speaker phone echo cancellation.
Improved audio quality.
Occasional radio no signal when PDA wake-up base band.
Occasional AEC failure during voice call.
Occasional failure in receiving cell broadcast message after reset.
Other party unable to hear voice using Bluetooth headset 5 minutes after device goes into power safe mode.
Updated keyboard mapping
"Load text failed!" displays in localization builds in MMS.

Requiremens before upgrade
Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP with ActiveSync 3.7.1 or later. Other operating systems are NOT supported and may result in damages to your devices.
Special notes
1. All data and applications will be lost. Please backup data before the installation. Reinstallation of third-party applications will be required.
2. Once being installed, previous ROM cannot be restored. Should problems happen during or after the installation, the device may require servicing in O2 service centres.
PRECAUTION 1. Make sure battery power of your Xda II mini is fully charged.
2. Reset your Xda II mini and close all running applications prior to upgrade.
3. Restart your PC and close all applications prior to upgrade.
4. Connect directly to the USB port of your PC. Using a USB hub may affect ROM upgrade process.
5. Do not interrupt the ROM upgrade process.
6. Do not use other applications on your PC during the ROM upgrade.

what is in the extened rom and what is the advantage of loading it?

I would love to load heaps of programs on my mini but it has so little memory, maybe if I didn't load the extended rom I would have more room. Or is this area of memory seperate. I had an i-Mate before and never had memory issues, I am always checking if I can delete old files as the memory issue is a big problem.

Is it available for Chinese version on the O2 web site of Hong Kong?

I upgrade from CHT to ENG and ENG to CHT without any problem. The problem I have is that I cannot figure out the Bigstorage issue on new rom.

SPL: 2.09.0000
This is an English rom, and because I am Dutch, I want to try this one:
RUU_Prophet_2100725_21007105_020720_QtekNLD_Ship.exe
My question(s): Can I update to this ROM without any problems? And if I don't like the Dutch language in the NLD-ROM, can I turn back to the WWE ROM (like: RUU_Prophet_2090724_20907106_020720_QtekWWE_Ship.exe)?

if you have no problems with the current rom stick with it. I used to have the dutch qtek rom and wasn't too happy with it. Experienced numerous problems and generally slow system.
I switched to the WWE version using the tool in the No Vendor rom thread.

I also a different language rom (french)... and I upgraded to WWE without any problem...
When you did this, do you know if your ipl version changed?

I think you will be able to upgrade to a dutch rom... but after that, I think you will have a problem to downgrade the version to an english rom...

somebody did a rom change from WWE to NLD???

I've tried many ROM's. On my HTC Wizard as well on my Prophet.
It's not just plug an play though My advice is to check out the Wizard forum, it's almost identical to the Prophet.
At the moment I run the latest Dopod (WWE) on my Prophet, but I've used the Dutch 'language pack' from the Wizard. It takes a little more effort to get it working, but it works fine for me at the moment. With no flaws at all!

New ROM for Qtek S200 WWE

I finally got my hands on the WWE version of the Swedish ROM that's been available for a couple of days. (The one lvsw used for his latest upgrade?)
It's now uploading to the ftp..

I'm looking for a ROM which includes an IPL (version 2.15 or 2.20) I've only found one ROM so far (the dutch one on the FTP site) that contains an IPL version (old 2.10) could you ask the qtek.se site if they have an ROM containing and IPL update ?

- Decompress and run de exe file. Don't close your grey installing window.
- Locate the just created temporary directory, something like:
C:\Documents and settings\username\local config\temp\rarXX , or pftxx or the like (look by time/date, it's, something created one minute before your current time)
- Copy the full directory and contents to somewhere else in your PC.
- Close the still opened grey window
- get ROMUpdateUtility_NoID.exe from the forum, and copy to the directory you just moved to your pc
- from this "new" directory you copied in your PC, execute ROMUpdateUtility_NoID.exe
It worked for me. Good Luck

For those of you that are uncertain about this new ROM. The installation did go fine, and with Sprite upgrade program I did not loose any files or programs in the process. Stable, and I have my Qtek splashscreen back!!
Please note that since not all S200's are S200's, I had to use the NoID utility to upgrade.

1. Download Official RUS ROM From

3. Extract English ROM from above link and replace P526.pim file.
4. Edit P526.ini file, first line is your current ROM region code (WWE, RUS, THA, etc) and second line is Extend ROM region code (WWE, RUS, THA, etc).
5. Run P526FUU.exe and follow the instructions screen.
Finish within 10 minutes (I hope that)
This ROM is working well on my P526 WWE but.
Upgrade it with your own risk.

This ROM is NOT an official English rom. It was dumped from my P526 English (WWE) phone. Base ROM is from Hongkong but it is English enabled because of my dumped rom. You may see letters HK after ROM Version when done flashing.
Free RAM is regular around 21-22 MB.
I found some bugs in this ROM and trying to fix.
- Win. Live Messenger not start.
- Notes is not working because of new Windows Mobile Office.

I've installed your rom and this problem with Notes does not allow me to send SMS. Do you have a solution (i.e. an alternative sw that can substitute notes)?

Did you mean without Notes you can't send SMS? or you need text editor to edit text before sending with SMS?
You can find freeware, like Notes, utility here at www.freewareppc.com
or I will upload original Clean ROM that's Notes and Messenger works.

In practice, when I receive an SMS than I select it and decide to reply it opens the Notes application to write the SMS.
If you upload the clean version, it would be great.

Follow the intructions from somphon_r:
Edit P526.ini file,
first line is your current ROM region code (WWE, RUS, THA, etc)
and second line is Extend ROM region code (WWE, RUS, THA, etc).
I tested the english rom from somphon_r for a while and the phone works well with the exception of the GPS.
The Destinator does not find the GPS.
I scanned the COM ports with several utilities (Sirftech, gpsinfo, GPSGate, crux_view) but no GPS entries are found

They are the new ROMs v6.1.6 with Edge support (or Edge Icon, as they claim)

Asus Launcher remains in local language

I've updated my P526 to an WWE version (I've tried official Turkey's and Hungary's firmwares form ASUS ftp support directory: ftp://ftp.asus.com/pub/ASUS/IA/P526) and at the end of the installation, when Windows is booted, it installs some additional program(s) (I suppose that is for multilanguage support, in turkish version there are 3 programs and in hungarian version only one) and after that everything is in that local language (turkish or hungarian). If I remove the installed program(s), windows menus go back to english, but the Asus Launcher remains in local language (turkish or hungarian).
If somebody knows if it is possible to stop executing in some way the additional program(s) installing at the end of firmware updating?
Or how to change the menu's language of the Asus Launcher from local language to english?
If isn't so clear - my objective is to have a totally english version as newer as possible. Am I wrong?

After trying the turkish and the hungarian firmwares I've just installed the croatian version and there is everything in english!

Also, it seems that is a little bit faster than other versions I've tried before. If you haven't any running programs the free program memory is 25.84 MB in my P526. It looks very fine at the moment .

Considerations before reflashing my Vox into Spanish

I've a HTC S710 loaded with fireburned's 6.1 Custom ROM:
CE OS 5.2.20757 (Build 19202.1.0.0)
Radio Version 4.1.13.37_02.83.90
The phone works awesome. It is the best rom it ever/will had/ve
Now, I must sell it, because the phone doesn't have 3G (provider don't want to sell me a 3G plan for this phone) and must go online mobile, so:
To sell it, it must sell the phone with spanish lang as default
1) The only spanish ROM is this. Can I apply this one to my phone?
