Hi all,
I cannot find any Java (J2SE) support for the browser under PPC. Therefore, internet browsing is very inconvenient.
Is there anything to fix it in WM6?
Thx!

I have quickly gone though the Web Browsing Bible. It seems that no browser can support Java at this moment, right?
I am using Opera Mobile now.

1, with some manual hacking, you can save pages under Opera too: http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=879&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
2, NetFront and MultiIE / PIEPlus are all able to entirely save pages. Please see the http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&cat=61 for more on all these apps (and Web browsing in general)
thanks
Hi.
I would like to know which internet browser is the best to WM5. Can you tell me?
Thx.
I'd give a try to Opera Mobile first.
Also make sure you read my browser reviews here at the General forum - I've elaborated on the strengths and weaknesses of ALL of them in my articles.

1. welcome to xda-devs
2. make sure you closely follow my articles and/or search the Wiki. In the Web Browsing Bible ( http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=The Web Browser Bible ), I've explained this is because of the sub-par JavaScript support of IEM.
The solution is switching to a browser that has much better JS support: Opera Mobile, Minimo, or even Opera Mini or NetFront 3.4 TP.
many thanx - sorted
Thanks for the prompt reply - sorted immediately. Took a look at your articles too - great. many thnx again
as in, when i click on a link in google maps, i want it to browse with opera mini and NOT PIE
side question, whats the diff between opera mini and the full opera mobile?
other than the fact that i need to pay
thanks
Did you search or RTFM???
Launch Opera, then Menu-Tools-Settings-Misc-and place a check mark next to Set Opera as Default. Not too hard to do.
As far as your second question is concerned, I'd suggest www.opera.com.
Opera mini isn't as easy as that.

So sorry. I'm using Opera 8.65 for Windows Mobile. It was real easy to make it my default browser. I still think Searching is a good idea.
Sorry about the misunderstanding
There is Opera MINI and Opera MOBILE
for mobile i know how to set cuz it's an exe file
but since MINI is a java base file and requires a midlet, i had to ask for more advice on how to do it
and as i suspected
it's more complicated than i thought
Thanks for trying to help, though, kimtyson
Hi,
Been surfing around the internet for a javascript for windows mobile 6.1 to run some internet sites but no luck...any chance that you guys know of such sites?
tks
Hi -- can you re-phrase your question? Not quite sure what you are asking. Opera mobile 9.5 has excellent javascript support; it can be slow on really complex sites, but pretty much everything works. The limitations are probably mainly due to the Touch Pro's hardware, though hopefully they'll continue to figure out ways to make it more efficient.
