1. welcome to xda-devs
2. make sure you closely follow my articles and/or search the Wiki. In the Web Browsing Bible ( http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=The Web Browser Bible ), I've explained this is because of the sub-par JavaScript support of IEM.
The solution is switching to a browser that has much better JS support: Opera Mobile, Minimo, or even Opera Mini or NetFront 3.4 TP.

many thanx - sorted
Thanks for the prompt reply - sorted immediately. Took a look at your articles too - great. many thnx again

great find thank you
I can't believe it
I can't believe only one person has said thank you for finding this. Opera Mini is sweet and fast (although Opera Mobile in Desktop mode is the only browser that I have been able to log in to my banks site chase.com and it has tabs ). Thank you very much really appreciate it.
I remember being confused with the CAB choices. What's the difference between options 'with and without selection dialog?'
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1740111&postcount=17
Menneisyys posted his thread in the General section too: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=347689
The selection dialog will kick in whenever you click a link to open a browser, so you can choose between PIE or Opera Mini. For more information see post #6 at the link I posted.
nevermind, didn't realize this thread is ancient...

Sorry, said my thanks to Shlomki already (the dude who tied up the different mortscripts into cab files). I think this is an awesome package indeed - Opera Mini truly rocks!

chase works for me with opera mini. I pointed my chase bookmark to "https://resources.chase.com/MyAccounts.aspx". if you don't get forwarded to your account after entering username/pass just reload the page by clicking on the bookmark again.

Jace support in PPC (J2SE)

Hi all,
I cannot find any Java (J2SE) support for the browser under PPC. Therefore, internet browsing is very inconvenient.
Is there anything to fix it in WM6?
Thx!

I have quickly gone though the Web Browsing Bible. It seems that no browser can support Java at this moment, right?
I am using Opera Mobile now.

How to register Opera Mini as the default browser?

I have searched the whole forum and it seems this question hasn't been posted yet.
How to register Opera Mini as the default browser?
I've seen someone made a shorcut to launch Opera Mini without the need to open Java first. I've tried to use SKTools to at least lauch urls and htmls to Opera Mini but It didn't workout since it can only register exe files and not shorcuts.
Does anyone have an idea? Any help is greatly appreciated!
[EDITED]: Sorry guys. I guess I was just searching the wrong words. There is a lot of information inside the forum regards using Opera Mini as the system level default browser. I just wanted to do the same thing without MortScript.

if you are using 4.0 or 4.1 there is a c++ app that does the job for me (you can link to the app using 3rd party so can open opera mini without having to use java
the app is available in the list of software in the link on my signature (yes it works for wm6 as well as 5)
hope this helps
Chris
Hi Chris,
thanks for the feedback. I tried the Opera Signed and Opera as Default Browser cabs on the email on your signature.
Both failed to work. I'm running the latest jbed 2008.02.22 v.3.1 but on my SD Card and the latest Opera v.4.1 (not the beta). Do you believe that the patches are not working because Jbeb is on the Card?
Thanks again for all the support!

Issue with DeepFish

Hello friends,
I have recently installed DeepFish web browser on my HTC GENE. It was successfully installed but when I am going to open any website, it just does not open. IE working properly...but DeepFish showing messages like slow network connections and all...
Need some help in this regard...
Thanks in advance...
I don't have a helpful answer other than most of us gave up on that pinto ages ago. I suggest Opera Mini 4.1 via JBED java midlet manager. There are other in dev browsers out there, but this one just does what it does reliably well.
Cheers!

Opera 9.5 doesn't let me post on VBScript forums like this one

I can type into this box, but when I hit Submit New Thread it responds saying that my message is too short. Its not too short its just the server not recieving my input apparently.
Any fixes? This is why I stick mostly to Opera Mini when I had my Mogul; Opera Mini works great on forums. But I always found Opera Mobile to not.

With 380ish posts really you should know the rules of posting thats a Q&A or related to a specific Opera build and should be posted in the correct thread\sub forum...
that's interesting, I've never had that kind of problem with opera before. the only kind I had was that I couldn't enter text when trying to post. however, easy fix for that was to set user agent spoof to 3 in opera:config. try doing that and see if it works.
a lot of people likes mini but it sucked dragon balls to me. I remember when I used to use hardware keyboard, I couldn't start typing something in the text entry and switch orientation in mini because then all that I have typed would be exiled into oblivion. however, it displays pages really well and is fast.
another thing is that I couldn't access most embedded and pop-out menus. I don't know if they put in a download manager now that allows for more than 1 download at a time with pause and resume functionality. the lack of these things used to really annoy me. plus I find that I use opera's send to email and sms quite frequently.
yeah I was jellin with mini until opera9 came out. mini is good for most users though.
Moved to Q&A section.
I'm using opera 9.5 now and i have no problems... It may be your :config settings or just your build.
