Cingular Treo 750 - Problem accessing Sounds and Notifications?

Is anyone else having a problem opening "Sounds and Notifications" on their Cingular Treo 750? When I click on it, it nevers opens, and my Treo gets REALLY slow, forcing me to do a soft reset.
I've tried this on two different 750 handsets and have the same problem. Anyone else have this problem? If so, solution?

It has never been an issue to open that utility, when you say click on it, how are you doing that, with D-pad or stylus?

Either way - as soon i either click on it or use the d-pad, my devices slows to a crawl and requires a soft-reset.

Works fine on my Cingular 750. I have changed multiple sound settings without issue. What third part apps are you installing on your 750?

I've wiped and reinstalled my device dozens of times trying to find the root of this problem and i can't. It keeps coming back. Here's to hoping someone else has seen this problem and found a solution!!!
That said, apps I've installed: Tube NYC, SPB Backup and SPB Weather. But, even after a clean install with none of those apps installed, i've gotten it happen. And, like I said, it happened on two different devices.
UPDATE - I just went to the store to swap out my phone for yet another new one (thinking perhaps the first two were from the same "bad" batch) - the problem is still happening!

I get this issue too.
I hget this issue too and have had it at some time on all WM5 devices I have used. It is to do with a problem with a sound. I have a number of sounds that I usually import from a mini-SD card and a while ago I identified the sucker that was causing it but did not make a mental note of it. DOH!. The only way out is a hard-reset and avoid my custom sounds. It's definitely a bug but experienced infrequently.

Oddly, and I have no idea how or why, my problem has disappeared. Mine didn't have to do with sounds imported though - I haven't done that.

im totally new to the whole pocket pc thing, and i dont know what any of these computer words you are saying mean, and i want to install this RUU thing, but im not exactly sure how

I guess I am a victim of technology. I installed HTC,Pocket CM, and S2U2 on my phone and now my Tilt is the slowest thing I have ever seen in my life. I removed Pocket, and S2U2 and now when I try 2 send a text the letters disappear after about the 3rd word. Only on my screen though it still sends the text the letters are jus invisible 2 me!!! Crazy I know. I have removed the battery and poked the hole so does any1 know what else I can do?? My contacts are saved to the phone not the sim card bcuz I have 700 contacts so that is why I don't want 2 do a hard reset.

I sugest to make a backup with Pim backup, it works perfectly... (you can find it in Dutty's, alltheway, p1tater and others cabs collection...)

Treo 750v WM6 crash problem

Hi guys
i have been using treo 750v for about 3 weeks, I updated it with the wm6 rom provided by vodafone on the first day I got the device, it works at first quite smooth, in the first week I haven't had any crashes. Then as I installed more programs, it beginns to sporadically crash (or freezing), so I did a hard reset.
Then I installed less softwares (15-20) than I did before, at first it seems ok, but a few days later it beginn to crash again, mostly when on cradle, when I leaved it on cradle for a while and check again, the system has already been freezed, cant do a thing with it but reset. sometimes it crashes after I removed it from the cradle. yesterday I tried to open a lot of programs to fill the ram, as I want to see how many programms it can run before it gets slow, and it freezed when it had about 13Mb ram left after I opened a application. Another occasion as i remember is when I took it out of the pocket and was about to unlock it, it does not react, reset again...
Well I konw it is problably the 3rd party softwares that cause the system unsteady, but I bought this smartphone for the purpose of installing softwares on it and If I only use those preinstalled software, than what's the point of buying a smart phone. I have previously also used a HTC Wizard for about 2 month, I also had a lot of softwares on it but as I remember it does not crash as offen as this treo 750.
I just want to ask the other treo 750 users out there, are u experiencing the same problem? or is it possible my device or this wm6 version I installed is not steady? what I can do?
Well I know there is one thing I can do, exchange it to a treo 680, but I really like the 750.....

That such since I want to comment that I spend(pass) the same thing to my myself, does one love that this haci in ocaciones this one well and in others the screen freezes.
And villain qes that not if it(he,she) was for that me key or other one is that he(she) installs the skin swiht of spbmobileshell very well certainly but since then freezes also I did to him(her) hard reset and equal this one and not that to do...

I have the same problem, today im gone to send back the phone to the store, i made 2 hard resets, but the problem persist, i have problem with the phone calls too, i just recive a missed call notification or rings 1 time, i hate this phone really!!!

Randomly shuts off

Hey,
in the past couple of days my phone has just randomly shut off while I was using it (e-mailng). The screen will go blank and the green LED will stop blinking. I'm using HTCs latest room.
I called HTC support and they say I should send it in. Has anyone dealt with HTC repairs yet? I don't really feel like sending my phone in and then they can't do anything. I'm dependent on it.
Did anyone experience the same thing their phone? (random shut offs while using, not windows freezing)

My advice is dont send it in.
I had the same problem and i got it solved with a hard reset.
And while i was at resetting i though i'd upgrade to Gonzo's WM 6.1
Just do a hard reset or install gonzo's rom and you'll be fine.

Hi there, same problem here. Getting very annoying to type a message or try to dial a number and the damn thing shuts off. Doesnt happen all the time, maybe once a day or every other day. Have a updates skin on it from fireburned, not sure if that has any effect on it. On doing a hard reset, what will be lost on the phone so I know what to save first.

I have the same problem, I find it turns off in the middle of my calls. I think it might have something to do with the battery, because it doesn't seem to do it when it's plugged into a charger. I upgraded to Dr. Gonzo's WM 6.1, but that didn't fix the problem. Still happy that I upgraded though. Does any one have an idea of what's wrong?

I had the same problem, and tried several roms. Nothing helped. Then I flashed, so I had the newest radio etc. but that didnt help either...
I tried for a time not to install anything at all, but that didnt help, therefore I send it in to the repair shop. All they did was to hard reset it and send it back. Then I send it back and then they replaced the mainboard, and after that it works perfect...
But...
It might happend to your phone if you clock it to faster speeds. - But if your phone goes black without you installing any software then send it in.

if you hard reset, you will lose all your data, and you are going to restore all the settings to default
going to lose sms, mms, emial and stuff,
search somewhere in the forum , i've seen somewhere a great backup program but cant remember the name, you should try using it before hard reseting

device.exe error,no signal and cant access phone settings

ei guys..anybody here still using treo 750? i jst got this weird experience with my device, an error called device.exe just pops out and ive noticed that I can't access the phone settings and theres no signal at all...i tried soft reset and hard reset but still doesnt work..hw i wish id kept it in its original wm5 instead of upgrading it to wm6..However Ive used the device with wm6 for the past 5mnths without any problems..its just this time without any apparent reason...I found out in the net,they said that the updates in wm6 for palm treo 750 have expired...I wanted to revert it back to wm5 and restore all factory settings but I dnt knw how. Hope theres a genius hu here knows how to solve my problem cz I'm really desperate
