New Rom WORSE than previous one

I have no words..
Every new ROM there are MORE bugs than the previous one!!!
So i wonder: If NOBODY CAN cook a REAL WORKIN' ROM.. WHY DON'T WE COME BACK TO WM5???
Am i wrong?
Bugs in wifi, bugs in mms, bugs on phone, bugs on Active Sync, bugs on SD I/O...
Videocall.. Videocal.. NO COMMENT on videocall..
A zealous user could replay me "Shut up and downgrade to WM5"..
Problem is that NOBODY, i repeat NOBODY is working on a "remake" of WM5..
We need, for example, a new WLM version, smart dial.. and so on!
I remember that in the past there were users horrified if an abstracted cooker forgot to put the videocall cab and nowadays we flash ROM that smash our data on SD...
I'm not polemic.. I want to open constructive dialog..
So the question is: Is indispensable to work ONLY on WM6?

I'm sure the makers like Lt.Cmdr.Ivan and Midget_1990 are working as I type and you read to rectify those problems and to implement Videocall...
Why not help them, and try cooking your own ROM? Maybe you could come up with a few fixes of your own while you're at it...
(Not that I can help much though...I'm having trouble figuring out what does what in a ROM image, let alone try implementing new functionality... )

Who knows? Maybe changing randomly the hex value of an nbf i could solve some problem!

Or you could use HTC64 Extended ROM Tool to decode the ROM, then edit the resulting image directly with, say, WinImage... Just a thought, though.
After you open up the image, you can swap CABs, and maybe extract them, and edit them directly. That way, you might get some results, who knows.

The first good news I heard for months. THANKS.
These past few months I just read the forums and just browse through the WM6 section. Just like DJ, I got sick and tired of trying out WM6 ROMs with no good results, even the one's I tried cooking with the ROM cooker.
I also agree with DJ's point, with WM5, we know we have a good working ROM, we just have to make it better, rather than creating a WM6 ROM from scratch and end up with a more messed up ROM filled with unfixable bugs.
I've been using the T-Mobile NL ROM (WM5) for months now.

I think you have choosen a wrong thread in the wrong forum!
This is the forum of imperfect rom where everybody is trying to make it perfect...as much as it could be....
I said it "imperfect" because if someone is looking for a stable rom then vendor (i.e O2, T-Mobile etc.) provided rom is the best suit for him, not it? OK, think, O2 released the WM6 for Uni then why we (including you) are here? We are here, because no vendors are interested to release it for our Uni.
You have the rom and rom kitchen as well, meaning that the whole bunch of .dll's, .exe's and all other related files with you. Why no helping this community for a perfection, build a bug-free beautiful rom for our Uni where everything should work as expected and as it should be?

video call working in this build? many of us will be glad if keep that in

even if I include the videocall separately (by scrambles from other rom) I will not be able to to verify his work, .. russia does not have a third generation networks

mo3ulla, how about the "internationalized" version of your ROM? I mean - with included MMS, VoIP, A2DP, video call (if works?) and other features which are already useful in western countries (and without that Paragon keyboard cyrillizer)? I just wanted to install your ROM from 4pda, but avoided that because I use MMS and would like to try A2DP and VoIP and I need AEKMap DESPERATELY, but not the cyrillizer with non-editable keyboard layout.

Is it possible to cook/manipulate radios?

I have never seen or heard that a developer can manipulate a radio version to perform better.
We are all used to trying out other Radio versions for different reasons (Reception/GPS/3G/Battery Life...)
For Kaiser community,
we have all experienced better GPS reception with the WM6 radios (ex. 1.27.12.11) but for WM6.1 latests releases; you are bound to use 1.65s or the NEON.
1.65s and NEON are just OK with everything, but for people relying too much on GPS S/Ws (living abroad) it is a huge draw back.
For me, I like to have both snappy ROM (WM6.1) along with strong GPS reception.
I keep jumping back and forth from WM6 to 6.1 for these matters.
So, is it possible to use 1.27.12.11s GPS ability on NEON or 1.65s?
1.27.12.11 you can view more satellites faster hence a faster fix.
PLUS, you get to have a more stable signal.
I have never experienced such GPS reception (or even close) on any WM6.1 radio.
I hope someone out there can give it a shot.

Your probably better with cmonex, jockw2001 or OliPro for this sort of stuff. Not saying ATW won't be able to help, but from what I've seen you'll need to disassemble the radio and patch it yourselves.

This is a little beyond me. I would actually love to learn how to do this but as far as I know there is not training manual to follow on how to do this.
As far as being the "guru" of radios, I am not that. What I am good at is ripping radio's from ROMs and repackaging them to work for the Kaiser. Nothing really that difficult once you learn how to do it.

You can tweak radio in many ways once your device is security unlocked. You can dump NV items and modify them, or you can use AT commands to do funny things with the RF configuration. And last but not least you can try to patch the AMSS code. Since there is a AMSS signature check in the qc secondary radio bootloader (qcsbl), you will have to patch oemsbl such that it hotpatches qcsbl just before it loads AMSS. Anyhow I wouldn't recommend you to tweak the code, but I would definitely recommend to study the first two options.

thank you for the input. I will look into these first two ideas. I would love to be able to modify say the 1.64.08.21 and 1.58.16.27 radio's to work on the latest WM6.1 ROM's I will see what I can do.

That first thread is helpful in that it points to the QPST tools which you need to dump/update NV items, access EFS, etc. Dumping radio rom is not interesting, useful is the how to dump NV items. My assumption in the 2nd thread was unfortunately wrong, due to missing hw it is not possible to activate GPS in production model Wings. However, it shows an interesting NV item which can be manipulated to enable additional features like additional frequency bands etc.

Really my goal / intention is to be able to manipulate all radio's to work with any ROM.
I don't know if my technological experience will be able to do that but I am going to try.
Like being able to use a WM6.0 radio with a WM6.1 ROM.
We will see though. Any helpful hints that you may have, please feel free to post them here or IM me.

Sorry for last period, I was very busy for my graduation and after graduation I got some free time to give you something new.
Many of users sent me PMs and asked me about new release (thanks for them)... so I started porting SYS and XIP from latest official release from Diamond which is 5.2.20273. I finished every thing, but need some time to do last touches and checks before releasing.
I just want to tell you that, there is new edition which is HTC Home free just for those users feel good with SPB Shell (I'm one of them).
So, keep in touch to download the latest TNT build.

it's one of best htc apps, and don't ask me why, but if you install it after flash a rom don't have the same "benchmark" as a build one.
but ok, we can live with only one tnt slim version ;P

Its is a choice, while Profesional version like before with HTC Home.
About Internet sharing, I can't test but it should be fixed in case of base rom caused that (we will see).

I will do it if I can, but really you have to test SPB Shell 2.1.1 (latest) and apply Diamond themes .

TNT design with just the today skin from Diamond (I don't prefer Diamond skins unless the device with VGA screen )
HTC Home will be available in prof version.

It is the original camera 3.3 exe with modified graphics.
as I saw in your 209 kitchen you realized that the graphic files in the package are useless. they are imbeded into the exe itself. I just changed them. The version I posted is not compressed, while the version Molski posted I havent tested yet (it is already cooked into my rom, why add more kb.?)
I know that the one I posted works.
also, while taking appart the reasourses, I noticed that the rgu's we have inhibit camera's functions. there are graphics in there that we never see. most likely, because HTC did not think we needed them in this device.
You can use reasource hacker to view the file, but you have to unsign it in order to edit it. otherwize it will not work upon saving.

xboxmod is currently working on it as hard and fast as he can. Dutty's ROMS are super protected but there is always a way to decompile it.

i would love that scientific calc. i have the manila skin to make the calc pretty but it doesnt do landscape rotate into scientific like the iphone.

Landscape mode in the new manila looks really clean..

someone port this over my touch cries for this rom....

yeahh thats the touch pro 2 manilla i want it so bad just for landscape please hurry

yah guys i can say i am running this on my touch HD and MY GAWD dutty has definitely outdone himself here. PS. instead of de-compiling it guys haha, just ask dutty, im sure he would release it for a port to other devices. if not just give it a little bit of time and he will release it.... he is a GREAT contributor to these forums and community, i dont see why he wouldn't with time.

I contacted him asking for a copy so we could port it to VGA but he hasn't replied yet.

I really miss dutty, he is a god to the custom rom. Back in the kaiser days is was all about him.

WOW looks awesome!! Can't wait for an update for the Touch Pro!
