just installed this onto my phone.
seems to work well apart from the top line where is shows you what you have typed. the graphic (or background, not sure which it should be) is all corrupt.
is it a duff file, or has anyone had the same problem?
I don't recall that issue, but there are a few issues with this thing it seems, so most people don't seem to use it id ont think.
I wish it worked wel, i realy liked it (the keyboard layout. dont care much for the word suggestion stuff though and whatever else it does. plus the autopop up for address in email doesnt work anymore with it)
Resolve touch keyboard scrambling in Dutty Dual Touch v.3
I had the same issues that you mention, so I installed the .cab file 'HTC Touch Keyboard + Keypad' which you can download from Dutty's cab repository here; http://www.cinetsystems.com/xda/Kaiser Cab Collections/HTC Touch Keyboard + Keypad.cab
After installing that cab and restarting the formerly scambled suggestion/auto-correct line above the keyboard is now displaying properly.
I still have issues with the software - in particular on some programs (particularly Opera Mobile) where I get a full (touch-style) keyboard rather than the keypad or touch keyboard.
Good luck!

Thanks for that, just installed it and it works a treat

The word completion feature seems to work in almost all programs except Internet Explorer. Any clues as to why this would be the case and, more importantly, how to fix it?
Thanks.
not sure if ur talking about XT9, but it seems to be working fine both on opera and IE.
Doesn't work in the new Opera 9 beta, text only shows up as numbers, you have to manually switch input methods to the ugly WM keyboard to type text.
I removed the Touchpad with a registry merge I found here (but forget where). The problem is when I use the keyboard or letter recognizer.

haven't tried the beta. good to know. thx
Okay - I bit the bullet and did a hard reset. Word completion still doesn't work in Internet Explorer, even though I kept all the input devices this time.
Any Suggestions?
Thanks.
Word completion problem also need help
hello, i have the same problem. Word completion works in most programs but not internet explorer. i can get it to work for a short time by use touch keyboard or touch keypad but i have to set it to xt9 everytime i start the keyboard. i would like to use resco keyboard in IE with word completion.PLEASE HELP.
I'm currently using the HTC Touch Cruise with WinMo 6.1 and HTC Touch Flo. Although the touch keyboard that comes with the device works well on almost all of the applications I've tried thus far, it Unfortunately does not play well with AIM beta.
http://beta.aol.com/projects.php?project=aimwinmobile
The touch keyboard only outputs the number/symbol part of the keyboard (as if you were holding it down in other apps) totally ignoring the letters each virtual touch key represents. It does the same thing with the Touch Keypad, changing the mode from "abc" to "XT9" does nothing.
The only mode that seems to work at all is the old stylus keyboard.
I've tried the following 3rd party keyboards:
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-touch-keyboard-v1-0.html
^ Does not seem to work at all with the Touch Cruise.
http://www.cootek.com/intro.aspx
^ I've also tried the freeware version of TouchPal. It seems to work fine with other apps, but does not even show up as an option for AIM.
Although I have the nagging feeling that because AIM for WinMo is still in beta, no 3rd party solution is going to help me, but I thought it won't hurt to try a few more keyboards before I gave up completely.
I think a touch keyboard that had separate keys for each letter would resolve the issue, that is of course if it shows up on AIM beta.
I think the following solution might work, but since it's neither freeware nor does it have a free trial mode I'm hesitant to try:
http://store.handmark.com/p/2112/Spb_Full_Screen_Keyboard_for_Windows_Mobile_Pocket_PC
Problem resolved.
There is an extracted version of the Touch Diamond Keyboard that has a separate full QWERTY mode that works perfectly with AIM.
Here's the link in case someone else runs into the same problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=392197&highlight=Gullum+Keyboard
Actually, the older extracted keyboard seems to work better, so unless you need multi-language support, I'd say go with the older download:

Hi guys!
I got my TP a week ago and this is my first post on this nice forum.
I think the phone is amazing; it's my first WM powered device, however there's something bothering me about the Software Keyboard. When I'm using the hardware keyboard and access a textbox on the screen (especially in the Opera browser) the software keyboard automatically pops up, although I don't really need it.
This feature may be very useful on devices which do not have a built in hardware keyboard, like the Diamond. But on TP I find it highly annoying.
Does anyone know if there's a way to disable this behavior?
dowload Advanced Config 3.2, install and change Input/Auto deploy SIP to Disable..
Thank you very much, that solved my problem. I had ACT installed, but I didn't notice this setting so far.
Edit: however, this setting does not affect the behavior of the Opera browser; maybe they'll fix this in a future version.
UR welcome..
every1 was a noob..i still AM..;-)
Hey! good tip! I never knew this...I was just living with the software keyboard always popping up.
Thanks!!!
don't know why, but i started to re-appear to me in some apps, even when i disable it..
Try this:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip>:
Create or change DWORD TurnOffAutoDeploy from 0 to 1
(Sorry, this is exactly what Advanced Config does)
Hello, guys!
I just found the solution for this problem.
There's a program called nullkeyboard (download from http://personales.ya.com/beemer/nullkeyboard.htm)
It's a SIP keyboard that does nothing (doesn't popup) and I think it's great to use it when browsing with opera or when using other apps that don't know that setting you mentioned.
I tried it and it works fine.
I was wondering if anyone has either of these apps working in a usable state on an AT&T Fuze? I did a search over on the forums there and got zero hits on the word Fuze so I thought I'd inquire here.
I understand that PocketCM requires a VGA theme for the Fuze so I tried HTCTouch's themes and the fix to the settings.ini file but everything is still so messed up I wondered if it's just too much work to get going or if it just wont work at all.
I can get the keyboard app to load and work but the keyboard is scrunched on first launch every time until you hit a key and then it straightens out. The other anomaly is I'm unable to set the options specified to load HTCTouch's themes properly.
I'm just trying to feel out if I'm doing something terribly wrong and other people have this working fine, or if this is a work in progress kind of thing and I should wait to mess with it. I do know from what I could see that I'd love to be able to use it. It looks really slick and I think it's an improvement on the standard apps.
Any input is much appreciated,
Eidolen
Sorry - I don't know where else to ask, and I've been asking around for years it seems.
I have more then one 3rd party sip on my ppc, (Tengo Free, Slideit, Touchpal, Phraze-It). I use Sipchange to pick which one I use when I reboot.
However, when I change from one 3rd party sip to another, most of the time I get the standard keyboard instead. I am unable to simply switch back and forth between the sips.
The default ones (like Letter Recognizer) all work fine, it's only the 3rd party ones that have the problem. It also doesn't matter which one sipchange makes the default.
Hard-resetting doesn't help, and I've had this problem on my current htc advantage, a samsung i730, and a samsung i760 - so the pocketpc doesn't seem to matter.
Is this just me, or is this some sort of windows mobile bug?
If no one has a fix, can anyone with more then one 3rd party sip tell me if they have this same problem?
Or does everyone just stick to one of them for all times (or built in keyboards).
Personally i tried most of the third party offerings and ended up using CooTek TouchPal as it was one of the few that would even load reliably on my Trinity. Most of the time i would select an alternate and it would fail to load, or it would load and then if i swapped to the standard one i was unable to swap back. The CooTek one swaps in and out no problems and is, well for me anyway, finger friendly.
I use both Resco Keyboard and TouchPal and they work fine.
One thing i suggest is, that you try to increase the delay to like 25 secs.
sometimes the OS is mixed up with all the stuff loading up that it will load the default sip AFTER loading the 3rd party one..
let me know if it works

That sounds like the same problem I am having - so it could be an os bug that doesn't show up often since I imagine most people stick to 1 keyboard.
BTW, agreed for the most part on Touchpal, my only gripe (which I hear they're working on) is a better landscape mode (I tend to work mostly in landscape).
Thanks for the reply!!

Which delay do you mean? Is there a setting for when you switch sip's that I'm not aware of.
OOC, why both Resco & Touchpal - do you use one or the other for different reasons?
I still prefer SlideIt over anything (cause I'm mostly a stylus guy), but sometimes - like when I'm in a car & need to type just a word or two - that I would take any keyboard with big buttons... as long as I can switch back & forth between them (which is my problem).
I use resco keyboard for hebrew and touchpal for english (i WISH touchpal had hebrew..)
in SIPChange you can set a delay...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=271008
that's what you're using right?
I'm using sipchange to change my default keyboard on bootup, which works perfectly.
My problem is switching between say Resco & Touchpal while it's running. (in this example)
F'instance, say I have Touchpal set to be the default in sipchange. I soft-reset, and Touchpal works fine.
Later, I try to switch to Resco. Instead of the Resco keyboard coming up - I get the standard vanilla windows keyboard instead. I can switch back to Touchpal - but the only way I can get Resco to work is by using sipchange, and soft-resetting.
SOMETIMES I can switch to Resco when Touchpal is the sipchange default. When this works, I can never switch back to Touchpal - when I do I get the standard vanilla keyboard again, and can't get Touchpal to work until a soft-reset.
Note that it doesn't seem to matter which sip's I use either - just using Resco & Touchpal in this example.
Are you able to switch back & forth as often as you would like?
Sometimes after first loading a keyboard (after install and before soft reset) You may have problems, but never have i really had problems after a soft reset. What version of wm have you been having problems with.
Currently with a HTC Advantage x7501 running Windows Mobile 6.0.
I also did a backup, hard-reset the device, installed Touchpal & SlideIT & had the same issue. I hard-reset, and installed other combinations of Touchpal / SlideIT / Tengo Free / Phraze-IT with the same problems every time (grr).
I used to have this problem on my older Samsung i730, but ignored the problem since I usually used the built-in keyboard. (I think os was 5.something)
Finally, I borrowed my wife's Samsung i760 & had the same problem with a hard-reset as well. (6.0)
Other then the gps on this unit having a weak antenna (hard to get a lock) - this is the only thing that causes me to regularly bash my head into the wall (ppc-speaking)

I've looked at that keyboard, but can't say I'm too interested in it. Touchpal simply looks better.
Will this sip fix the problem I mention of using multiple 3rd party sips?
