Flashing Orange Led. - HTC Vox

My phone went fubaaa, and it were sent to rep.
They fixed it, and it has worked great for 5 days. When I woke up this morning my vox havent charged, and the diode flashed orange. After consulting the manual, it states:
Flashing orange: Battery temperature is hotter or colder than the functional limits of 0 to 48 degrees Celsius (32 to 118 degrees Fahrenheit), and has stoped charging.
It isnt.
Obviously it sounds like a faulty battery, but do any of you guys have a better suggestion? I have tried charging with a usbcable, and with the charger, but it didnt make any difference. Or should I just send it back to rep again?

sorry for diggin' up this old thread, but I'm having the same problem here so I was curious if it was solved somehow.
I just bought a new cheap battery from ebay to replace the exhausted original one (which still is charging fine, but has a very short life) and it never got charged, it keeps blinking the amber led...
Do you know if there's something I can try before sending the battery back to seller?
regards

Check the pins of the VOx....somethimes with aftermarket batteries they do not fit correctly
Controlla i contatti...magari con uno stuzzicadente allungali un pochino....a volte non toccano bene i contatti della batteria....succede. auguri

Grazie SuperMario!
Anyway... I tried everything but with no success (amber led always flashing, while charging normally with the old original battery), and the vendor agreed to replace the battery with a new one.
What is really weird is that after one week, I received the new replacement battery and this one worked, but before packing the "defective" battery for sending it back i made a last try and it was charging... I wonder if it could be some problem related to something like a "ghost" residual charge, or whatever went off in a week of non-use.
So... that's my story, maybe it can be helpful for someone else...
Cheers

Battery Solution - Anyone brave enough ?

Has anyone seen this or tried it ? It seems that no one has cooked their battery. I went to three Cingular stores today trying to find a replacement battery without success. I ended up buying an over-priced car charger just so I could return a few calls as I drive home.

... seen what exactly? I see a very short blog entry about a guy and his battery problem, and 109 responses to it. I'm not sure where the bravery part kicks in, unless I'm missing something.
It's this part :
Take a USB cable cut off one end and expose the red and black wire. Touch the black to the negative pole of the battery and the red to +, directly.
The other end of the USB cable goes into the computer's USB port.
I have now tried this and am in the midst of charging my phone. I'll send an update later today
batteries don't last forever. Mine died and i had the same issue you had. I called every Cingular store around and none had them. Finally found one 30 minutes away for $60 so i bought it and then ordered 2 spares for $20/each online. the online ones took forever and a day to get here, but i now have spares.

When you say it was the same issue, was it general battery life, or specific applications ?
For me, it was making phone calls. The battery drain seemed not to change much during a call compared to idle at ~130mA but the drain was phenomenal. Compare this to leaving BT, GPRS, push E-Mail and WiFi which caused a gradual drain during the day. It led me to thinking this was a software issue, therefore why waste money on a spare battery ?
If this helps, I think I will buy a battery before this one dies completely on me.

ok sounds like a different issue. my battery would not hold a charge. nothing to do with software issues.
Hi,
I had nothing but trouble with the battery with every single WM6 ROM I tried. Thinking it was software, heard stories about calibration. Tried the draining complete, and then recharing, nothing seemed to solve the absurd battery drain problem. I often switched back to my good old Nokia (they just won't die) during the day due to a critical battery level. Sometimes even after only a few phone calls.
I replaced my battery a few weeks ago and since then I haven't had a single day I had to recharge during the day. It lasts all day, like it used to.
Maybe it's WM6, maybe it's a battery calibration problem, or any other software related problem. But I for one am very happy I invested those bucks in a new battery, I now can finaly really enjoy my WM6 wizard.
Cheers,
Cacti
I've had problems with the phone resetting constantly for months and then eventually, the phone not being able to charge. The phone is not that old, and Li-ion batteries don't die that quickly. Nevertheless, I bought a new one on ebay with the same results. Turns out, my power connection was loose despite what appeared to be a solidly soldered connection to the board. I had to almost pry it off and readjust it. Now it works fine. Talk about pain in the ass.

Rubbish Battery Life

I hope this is not normal, i am realy dissapointed about the battery life of my vox.
Yesterday at 6 in the morning I woke up from a warning sound that the battery was almost flat. I plugged it in, got up at 11.30 and started him up.
Did 2 calls and 4 text messages, and at 22.30 when i was watching TV i got the battery warning again!
Same thing happend today, why isn't my battery lasting longer than 12 hours?
I coudn't have done something wrong while charging/discharging becous it only lasts 12 hours so its always fully discharged before recharging.
And i always closed the running apps in the task manager (taakbeheer).
What applications do you have installed that startup automatically?

i just got the original rom installed after some problems with the Neo rom
Cells in the battery might be on the verge on death. Run the battery down to 0, cover the second pin from the left with electrical tape and put it to charge while turned on or with a seperate charger. Charge it full to 100%, remove the tape and put it back to charge. Run your "daily" test again and see how she fares.
I have an extra 2250mAh I can sell you if you want, doesn't come with an extended battery cover however.
how can they be dead? i just got the phone for a week. :s factory error?
Oh, a week? That's not right at all.

Well, it's still Windows Mobile! <img>
I don't think it's the battery.
I had this problem about 5 times already..rebooting the phone seemed to fix it every time.
I'm not saying rebooting will fix your phone but I'm almost sure it a software issue.
were there times it did work as it should?
First recharge was held a full day of internet. and i watched a 20min episode of King Of Queens.
I'm goint to try the phone for another few days, if the problem still occurs i'll ship it back to my store.
hmm
battery is now holding fine. It could last more than a week now on standby.

HTC S710 1050 mAh battery last more than a week, unbelievable
Mine lasts 3 days tops
Now i have it @228Mhz probably 2 if I don't do anything with it.
I will be getting myself a Nokia E71 so I'll have 2 2250mAH batteries and an extended cover with soft touch if anybody is interested in buying them for cheap.
I'll also probably sell a 2GB SD and an OEM 1050mAH with it. Keeping 2 1050's at the Vox as a backup.
Just throwin' it out there.
Well not a week but i checked regularly and the batt lost about 15-20%/day on standby?
It think it needed a few charges to be fully usable.
Working fine now.
I only use it one day before recharging anyway. It drains to literally nothing. I am a very have user (or should I say gamer??^^) You know, school is sooooooo boring!
When i was in school i always had my laptop in front of me ^^
Hide taskbar + alt-bat ftw!
hey guys, according the latest test of my battery, it lasted just 3 hours with wifi on. i've just upgraded to neo rom yesterday. can any body help? and can anybody explain which cell of the battery hawaiii is talking about.
I have 2 2250mAH cell batteries if you would like them. I am no longer using my Vox so they are no use to me. They have been used for roughly one week and come with an extended battery cover with soft touch paint on it.
are these batteries bigger? do thet stick out?

[Q] Is my HTC Sensation XE bricked?

Hi everyone,
I dont know what happened with my HTC, when I woke up this morning, the phone wont turn on at all. Even if I connect it to charger, the notification light doesnt on. I tried remove the battery and reboot, but nothing works.
My phone was rooted, S-OFFed and running [ROM]Viper 1.3.5 and still working last night, I didnt do anything to it (at least when I was sleeping).
Could anyone tell me what happened to it and how to fix it?
Thanks in advance
How long was it on the charger?
Sent from my Og Evo 4G
I put it on charger for about 30min, the light doens even go on, like, no charging at all. The phone still wont turn on
Could be the battery. I have had this very same thing happen to me with a new battery. No charging light at all, no sign of life what so ever! As soon as I poped in a new different battery, my phone sprang to life once more. It was very strange because the battery I was using had charge left last I checked and it was on the charger. When I checked the phone it had no life at all. No charging light either. If I we're you, I'd try a new fully charged battery, to see if that will solve your issue. Don't mess with the device before you try the new battery. My issue was the same as yours and a new fully charged battery solved my problem. Hopefully that's all it will take to also solve yours. It certainly can't hurt to try! It worked for me. If the new battery does not solve the issue then you have a different problem all together. But do give it a try and see what happens. Best of luck.

Well, I cant mess with it since it doesnt startup. Thanks for your idea, I will try it later, I have no spare battery here atm.
Yeah just like the post above says, maybe with another battery it will work. Check Amazon for batteries theyre cheap but who knows how long it would take to get to where you live. Best of luck

Hi there, you can order a good extended battery like Anker for under 20 bucks. I really hope the battery does the trick. When this happened to me, it was so strange because I was using a NEW
Battery and it had around 60% charge when I plugged it into my charger . Then when I went to check the phone after changing for about a hour it was black. I took it off charger and it had no life at all. I thought maybe the charger didn't connect properly so I plugged it back in, then I noticed I didn't have any charger light like I usually have. Phone was completely dead and it would not charge. Strange. I had another fully charged new battery I kept as a spare, when I put that battery in, the phone came back to life and the charging light worked again! I have not had ANY problems since. It's been about 5 months since that happened to me. I never used that battery again. I just threw it away. It must have been something with the battery. It would not even charge! No lights or anything! I'm really hoping this is your problem also because it's easily fixed. Please keep us updated and let us know if new fully charged battery solves your issue too. It sounds exactly like what happened to me, so I'm hopeful you can solve this with another battery. I wish you the best! Good luck!

It was the battery guys, I bring it to the HTC, and they tested it with new battery, didnt work also. So, they put in a new mobo, new battery, then it worked. They insisted to keep it a few more days to serviced it though. I forgot to tell you guys it still under warranty, sorry a lot.
P.S.: They even gave me a HTC Desire as a temp phone

[Q] Differences between a BG58100 & GI39100 Battery? [ANSWERED]

Short but powerful,
Without all the blablabla straight to the point. I got ?fooled? by a phone company 's expert(?) who told me this was not going to do any damage to my phone, and refused me to give me my money back after i found out that the battery was not good(the same as OEM z710e voltage ratings) when i came home.
I have a z710e, it came out of the factory in 2011. Original battery specifications:
m/n BG58100 p/n 35H00150-02M (3.7VDC 5.62Whr 1520mah)
The battery triple checked by "Expert" and sold by him is a:
m/n BI39100 p/n 35H00170-01M (3.8VDC 6.08Whr 1600mah)
My phone model: z710e (PG58130) original battery p/n: 35H00150-02M from 2011.
Next time I'll check this stuff myself and don't let those people do it for me. They either don't have any good batteries for this model and just sell the one that actually over volts your phone. Or other batteries and so had in his mind to sell me this and don't care about it, like "oh well who the heck cares, this person will never find out and will return to me when his phones is death". Well I'm pretty sure that this will not make my phone last any longer than a year / half a year or less! And i still need it for a year or longer if possible.
Feel free to reply, but only if you know that what you are telling is 100% correct. Please avoid non-valid information or answers, thanks :good:
I am not a pro either but this just doesn't seem to be correct. Feel free to correct me, if i made any mistakes.

If you don't understand my actual question, then I'm deeply sorry. Often my stories are not so easy to understand duo to my bad English.
The question in a nutshell is simply : Will this higher end battery do damage to the phone and is my story right, i mean is this battery not compatible with my model because it can do damage duo to over volting the ma inboard/soc (because of higher battery output ratings?)

First of all you should search a little bit more to see that the same battery (35H00170-01M) is offered by numerous companies as a replacement battery for various phone models (Titan, Vivid, z710e...) just like the battery from your phone (35H00150-02M) is offered for the same models.
Then, you can find the same battery (35H00170-01M) offered with different voltages, both 3.7V and 3.8V, and the difference of 0.1V will not harm your phone, cause, you can see it yourself, voltage rating for the original phone charger is 5V and it doesn't harm your phone.
And the last, the other data you got for the battery (Whr and mah) mean only that you have battery that should last longer than the original one you have.
I hope I helped...

It indeed is, but i have really bad experience with replacement batteries. And those small 'voltage increases'. They end up to die quicker a lot quicker in my personal experience. And i think it is also the reason why, many sellers don't include my model in the compatibility list. The 3.8VDC 6.08whr version is meant for the XL and titan version witch is actually indeed the same but +300mhz overclocked.

To be honest I have some cheap s**t called Hinorx Extended Battery that's 1200mah (don't know what's extended there but that's what I got when I ordered regular replacement battery for Sensation) and it works really well, can go up to 25-30h with 2h of screen, lots of wifi (ARHD 7.3 with 1,5MHz o/c).
Don't worry about 0.1V, it means nothing. And for life of battery I hope you got warranty...

It don't has warranty. But it's oke. It is a OEM battery they said. Btw it works fine, only had to use another charger with a output of 1.5a. It would not charge otherwise. But well, lets see how long it keeps working.
Haha it seems to not work charging for 5 hours now and still 0% cannot go in cwm recovery and when it starts it will reboot and orange/green led will blink again. I tried to reboot it several times, tried to clean/bend the pins and all the other tips from XDA forum seasrch results and nothing seems to work.. Great =(

Yes i did but it got extremly hot so i switched back to the stock charger. And it actually should be fine? +0.1 volt doesn't matter?
The battery does not hold charge at all. It turns on battery level is 0% and will reboot and do orange/green led indication for as long as you keep it in the charger. When you get it out of the charger and turn it on it will go off as soon as android is loaded up intro the pincode screen. Guy at the store told me the led indication meant that the bettery is at an extremly low level of power and that it just needs to charge some more.
Well i have been charging it for like +5 hours now for sure. Using the OEM charger rated at 5VDC 1A. It is not the cable or faulty charger. If i test the output or on my tablet it works just fine. And with the old battery i'm able to charge it, but the old battery is dead, it does not hold load properly anymore. It drops a lot of times from 80% to 1% in like maybe 30 minutes of usage.
Also when using the GI39100 i cannot get intro adb or recovery..

It is the second brand new battery the guy in the store put intro it.
Both did the same, it just doens't work.
1. Does not turn on (sometimes when lucky)
2. Holds no charge
I did
1. Wipe battery stats (in the end, like 5 minutes ago from writting. It took me half an hour to get the phone booting while charging)
2. The phone started only twice, now it does nothing anymore (with this new bat).
Also the battery info was all wrong.
When i checked the 1st time when i got it on i went to settings > about the phone > status > batterystatus it did show me(i left it nearly 3 hours like this and still 0%):
- Batterystatus: Unknown <----------------- Before battery stat wipe, after wipe still the same, no power on.
- Battery level: 0% <----------------- Before battery stat wipe, after wipe still the same, no power on.
While it should look like this!
- Battery is being discharged (when not charging)
- Battery level: 93% (old poor battery meanwhile after so much testing already full again)
When i put the old battery in place it works without problems. When i put the new one in it doesn't + battery stats are not even readed by android itself and recovery menu stated a warning. "Warning phone is under-volted" or some message like that. And the LED indicator flash in an unusual way (orange/green) this probably is an error code. Well, complete nonsense because i use the same charger. And the XL version has the same 1A charger, so this makes no sense. The battery is just not compatible.
The battery has been charging for almost 13 hours now. And still 0% + orange/green led flashes.
I have no tools here i had to imprevise with crap, gluetape and a doorbell to get a cracky 5 dollar multimeter working, LoL.
here is the bat output;
a 0.08 v 20 3.52v hv 750 0.07 hv 200 06.8 with other words it should be fine to run and maybe get 50% battery level. But it is still z3r0~ when i put it in my phone.
Topic prefix can be set to [ANSWERED]. The m/n BI39100 p/n 35H00170-01M battery works just fine in the z710e. Confirmed to work, even with 0.1v increase (does not produce more heat or instability, like some cheap fake batteries do without protection IC xD)
I went back to the store they gave me another battery and it instantly worked. So i had two faulty batteries. Lucky me again haha....
Probably or the store where i got it from does not test bats and throws them intro one big box or just very very unlucky.
The battery stats now work, no warning in recovery menu and no orange/green flashing in the led indication.
So if somebody has the same issue as me, your battery is 100% sure faulty. And you should toss it back to the re-seller for warranty or if you purchased the parts loose RMA it.
Get or an good alternative non-oem brand like anker. That is sure to be safe and good of quality. And never use fake chargers from like cheap Chinese tabs or phones. Often they have terrible output and this can badly damage your battery/phone because the output might not be stable enough and drops and increases a lot of times, either using a 2A charger does not make any sense at all. It will go just as fast as a 1A charger because the limit is 1A through(in most phones some can have other ratings). Only thing that can damage your phone/battery is if you go over the 5VDC. More volts = more heat = less lifespan. Amps are taken by the device and volts are given.
Confused
The new battery i have now is a BI39100 35H00186-00M. The 35H00170-01M does not seem to work in a PG58130 z710e or i had two faulty batteries... ?

MI4C Battery Replacement: Where to buy?

Hello there I think my battery is damaged, becouse my phone switches off with 5-15% left (so i do calibrate, but doesnt help) and when I charge it, the charging starts from 14% instead of with 0.
So I decided to replace my battery. I know that I have to the BM-35 But where can i buy and get really a original?
I found this some on ebay and aliexpress, but i am not allowed to post here....
For exeample i found one on aliexpress with a cooling copper, is that usefull?
Thanks in advance for your Help.
Only on dragon-tt I've found original parts of xiaomi phones...

Hello, I have exactly same problem! Same percentage, turns off at ~13-15%, then if I plug to charge it shows 14% everytime! I would also know if it's battery or something more related. I'm using mi4c for ~7 months now. Glad i'm not alone with this problem.
Which Rom?
Which Rom you use and do have only use your quickcharger (the original)?
Edit: I ask about the charger, because i read in anohter forum, that the quickcharge isnt good for the battery lifetime. I have the phone for more than a year and use the quickcharger only for every third or fourh charging. Do you use everytime?

Yes, used original quick charger, and USB. Using Ressurection Remix 5.8.0 (7.1 Nougat), but was getting problem with MIUI too, but shut down at 7%, and start charging at 21%, i think it may be software problem.
I'm not sure whether it is a software problem. I have for last month the rom from team superluminal ( cm-12.1-20160617 ) and have never battery problems - only since the last 2 weeks. So i updated to the rom cm-13.1-20161231 (also superluminal) and the first round with a full battery works fine, no switch off at a low battery level. I work on the phone until it has only 3 percent and then i charged it. Maybe you try this rom? Nevertheless i think isn't a software problem. Because I read this at the forum from superluminal (sry i am not allowed to link here) - posted by morphic:
IMO using quick charger w/ mi4c it will destroy your battery even more, because it seems to get too hot while charging. High temperatures are known to cause damage for battery internal chemistry..
I have also noticed that using normal “slow” charger will make mi4c battery percentage to behave more sane.

Used this rom. I think the same, I'm going to buy battery and try to keep it cool while charging. If you know some cheap websites for Europe, thank you!
I have orded from aliexpress, you can find some between 10 -15 Euro. Or ebay, there is a trader from spain and want about 20 Euro.

100 percent sure you could never I remember a case about fake samsung battery - selled from amazon.
Tried to get a replacement battery from the biggest seller of them on aliexpress. Got stopped twice at custom x-ray with post nl . Was getting it shipped to Ireland. Seller is refunding me and told me it was getting very hard to ship batteries at the moment.

Not like Xiaomi uses top bin batteries in the first place. They wouldn't bother faking the bottom bin batteries Xiaomi uses.
there are no original ones as spare parts to buy. just replacements
I've bought one off aliexpress from a seller with biggest positive feedback for BM35 batteries as my original was switching off at about 30%, used for about three months, but it's not very good now - it doesn't hold charge very well and I have had random shutdowns at about 20%, too.
Last weekend I've got annoyed and put my old original BM35 back and the phone holding significantly longer with similar patterns of usage. Unfortunately still getting shutdowns at ~15-20%. Also there are rumours claiming that avoiding QC chargers "cures" the battery in mi4c. So, if you're getting shutdowns at 5-15%, don't even bother spending 10$ for a non-original one, try slow charging first.

could you tell us what kind of charger do you use? what power, ie. how many amperes?
I use two different Samsung Charger with: 1) 5Volt / 1A 2) 5Volt / 2A
I have the same problem where my device shut down early before 0%, and it happen to all custom rom i used, but i think the problem has gone now, i did clear all the chace and dalvik/ART, reboot the phone, charge untill 100% and calibrate with battery calibration.
I'm on RR 5.8.0 latest build.
Just got the battery the poster is talking about, with a copper patch. its from a batch marked with the year 2014. The S/N is covered with the copper patch.
the battery cover plastic seems a bit scratched, like its a used battery.
I will replace the battery in the next couple of days and let you know.
For the mean time I got it for 11.5$, now its 14.5$
