I have a little problem regarding the size of the desktop / Today screen on my PDA (Wizard @ WM6).
When I connect my PDA to my PC with AS, additional icon appears in the tray (even though I removed init_tray.lnk) - but that's not the problem itself.
The problem is that additional sliding bar appears on the right side of the screen. The Today plugins do not fit the Desktop anymore, so all the contents of Today is "squezzed" and moved a little bit to the left to make space for the sliding bar.
When I disconnect, the icon & additional bar disappear but the Today items do not go back to fill the whole screen, but keep "squeezed" :O I haven't managed to find any option to refresh Today screen in order to make it filled with the plugins again.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this, please?
Its a long shot, but if you were to go to Settings->Today-> Items, and click on ok (without doing much there), most of the plugins will refresh.
You could try this.....

That would almost certainly work - if you fancy a few less taps to achieve the same result, then there is a program that should (not tested it myself, so not 100% sure!) do the job for you.
Get it from http://www.shubaroo.com/index.php?module=refresh_today - the author, t0flus, is an xda-devs member (his Group SMS app is posted on one of the forums), so he may be able to offer assistance if needed.
I'm guessing all you'd need to do is to copy the exe onto your phone and stick a shortcut to it in your programs menu.
Cheers,
Mark.
I have the same problem on mine and all I do is slide the keyboard out about halfway so it changes the screen to landscape and then slide it back in and everything goes back to the way it was before. No software needed.
The one I tried crashed the Treo into a loop of resets....
Isn't there one that works?
Please, anyone can answer it?.
In this thread people are talking that one version works:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=323989&highlight=htc+home
but, which?
Don't bother...
I tried a couple of them and while the plugin works, it messes up the call window, send and end keys, and dial lookup. You don't have access to the one touch speakerphone and you can't tell whether or not your on a call. I had to hard reset the phone to get rid of it.
I wish someone could make this work correctly with the Treo.
If you insist on trying, backup your phone first....This is the one I used. DO NOT INSTALL Hidelogo.cab. It will cause the reset loop.

Thanks PikaC for your help
I tried this one
I tried the one mentioned above and works GREAT. I have had 0 issues. The only thing now is to try and hide the clock in the top bar. there are 2 clocks one in the top bar and one from the HTC home plugin. I tried to use an updated 6 button plugin but never showed up. Any ideas of how to hide the top clock?
Alright so a few quirks with the Cruise to see if anyone else has ideas or comments on this:
1) Clicking on the Mail icon in HTC Home has a delay before opening up the Account Selection screen. If I map the Messaging App to a button or launch it directly it opens super quick. So what gives, why is the Home plugin taking much longer to launch Messaging?
2) Phone dialer skin lag. This really annoys me when I see the screen getting painted when bringing up the dialer. I mean it's a phone, of all things why can't this work nicely. Other things work really smooth, why this?
3) Comm Manager exit. We all know it doesn't really exit and is probably a WM6 issue. Even when you click the exit soft button. The reason this is also annoying is because if the Comm Manager is launched for the first time, it opens up nicely without different parts of the screen getting painted. However if it's in memory and launched again, you see it painting different sections of the screen. If I go in and kill it and start it up again, no painting on the screen. What gives? How can I ensure that pressing exit actually stops the application?
Thanks!
Anyone have a solution to any of these quirks?
Alright, I will try bumping this thread one more time in the chance that someone might have some input on at least items 1 & 2. I have heard that item 3 might be solved by some of the ROMs out there, maybe bepe's.
With regards to point 2, I don't have a solution but I would imagine if there was a way to keep the phone dialer in memory and running in the background once its been opened for the first time - it may resolve the issue. i.e if it wasn't closed competely when it was finished with ...just an idea, not sure how you could implement it - will have to have a play.
Actually I find that's not always the case. For example the CommManager does the exact opposite. When the Comm Manager is in memory and you call it up again is when I see the screen painting slowly. If I am calling it for the first time is when it displays the screen in one shot.
Hi am posting this as today I've noticed something very strange with my TP, while using mail in landscape mode and sending a mail, I closed the keyboard and noticed the scroll wheel came to life I could scroll up and down the inbox... very strange (but a great idea as I've always wanted it to do this) anyway it only worked for a minute, as soon as I stopped I couldn't get it to do it again
Now I know I can do this when moving an email, but not in the inbox its self
Anyone else noticed this.
Okay so as I'm not to sure if it's only my device, can any other members TP scroll up or down the inbox with the centre button by either turning it clockwise or counter CW.
Thanks.
what rom are you using?
ROM Version 1.90.405.1.WWE
ROM Date 08/01/2008
Have been trying to get it to do it again all morning
This behavior is built in. All touch pros/fuzes can do it. It is not working in some custom roms though. you can zoom on texts that way too.

Mine doesn't do this - I know because I've often wished it would. From reading some past threads - I don't see anywhere where the scroll wheel actually works in the Mail Accounts.

Yep it's fine with zooming in & out of mails, ie making the text larger, but actually going up and down I can't get it to do it again
Hiya.
Longtime lurker, firsttime poster. I'm currently experiencing an issue with my Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2. I've had it for about a week now, and this problem seems to come and go. I'm using the stock ROM and TouchFlo3d; though I've also been playing around with the SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 (love the widgets!). Anywho, the issue (finally):
When I get a phone call, the callerID pops up and I have the slide-to-answer screen. I can either slide to the left or slide to the right (now dip, baby, dip) (sorry). When I slide to the left, most of the times the entire answer button turns green and the phone just keeps ringing. Like, I'm TRYING to answer it... but it won't let me! About 20% of the time, though, it slides successfully all the way over and I can then talk. But - again - most of the time it just turns green and I can't answer it. Even if I press the hard button on the lower left of the phone (the "phone" button).
Anyone have any ideas/suggestions/tips/tricks on how to fix this? With slide-out keyboards on a touch screen phone called the Touch Pro (2), it sure as hell is hard to google around for an answer! RTFM didn't help, either.
Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help me out, here.

Hi, a friend has the same device and had the same problem, he solved it by going to the site of HTC and get the updates and now the problem is gone, also is there already many rom update`s there to windows mobile 6.5
Succes,
Greetz from Holland
Thanks mate. Unfortunately, though - that didn't work. :\
In the download section at HTC's site, it states: "This update can only be applied to ROM version 1.20.xxx.x or previous, otherwise the update will fail."
I'm on ROM version 1.21.651.3.
I went ahead and tried to DL and install the CallerID Update - but it wouldn't install. I received the "This hotfix is not compatible with your device" error message.
Any other suggestions? Oh, btw FWIW - this runs Windows 6.1. 6.5 isn't yet available for the Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2 (or so I hear). Thanks again!

Try this Site scroll to bottom of page, give your serial and see if you can download it,maybe you must unlock your CID first to install it
negative. Didn't like my serial number. Regardless, everything I've read so far has said you can't really upgrade a US/Sprint/CDMA HTC Touch Pro 2 to Windows Mobile 6.5.
*sigh*
If only the phone part of the phone worked... this would be one helluva phone!
Will see what i can do have a orginal wwe 6.5 (from htc site) for it, but i think you must unlock touch pro2 orelse it will say invalid vendor i will upload it today and put a link here
EDIT--you can download HERE the Wm 6.5 (download the 2 files, click the .exe) unpack and Happy Flashing...I Have NOT Flashed it,because i have no touchpro2
Greetz from Holland
I have the exact same problem
Anybody got this resolved yet? I am running wm6.5 stock rom from sprint on my touch pro 2...
I'm having the same issue with my stock 6.5 rom.
phone rings but sometimes either slide to answer and hard button answer does not work.
Since I have not found a answer to this I will be doing a hard reset to see if it fixes

Any luck? I still have this issue.
A mobile phone that won't answer calls....
... seems a lot like sex without orgasms...!
I have the Sprint HTC TouchPro2 with the stock ROM, no additionally software installed, and yawp! Maybe 15-20% of the time I am able to answer calls. Grrrrr. I've been an HTC user prettymuch from day one, and this is the *laggiest* and *buggiest* phone by far! Normally, I customize and flash ROMs like crazy, but I have *no* interest in doing so with this phone... it should work out of the box, and it simply doesn't.
I have insurance, and keep taking my brand new phones back to Sprint. They look at it, and tell me to come back in two days when they'll have a new phone for me - at least that part is hassle-free. :/ I am now on my FOURTH new phone - all with the same 'unable to answer calls' problem- slide to answer jst slides to the green and freezes there; trying to use the answer button (bottom left bottun on the face of the phone) doesn't work either, and a minute or so after pressing it, I get the message, "unable to open sendkey.exe" blahblahblah,*and* each0hone I've received has multiple other problems: severe lag and freezing, sometimes the screen goes black, or pixelated so you can't see anything, SMS won't open (using the winmo, not HTC SMS shell, even), etc., etc., ad naseum.
I figure this will keep happening until the WinMo7 phones arrive in January2011 (almost there, anyway, since it is now the end of December!), after which I can request one of those instead of this brick.
I've had to tell my friends and family to text me if they want to talk to me on the phone, and I'l ring them back.
(other things I *really* dislike about this phone are: no external camera button, no external internet browser button, no 'ok' button, no scroll buttons, no flash for the camera, oh hellz: the list goes on and on! And, really - I adore HTC... but! this is their crummiest phone by far....)
