What does Beam on these Kaisers do I have it on mine and Have no idea what this feature is,
thx in advance
It's supposed to be for IRDA transfers, but without an IRDA port in the Kaiser I think it's now used for 'beaming' files to another device via Bluetooth.
Having it on enables other devices to send data to your phone thru bluetooth, try turning on your bluetooth and sending something to your device with the beam function off,you can't,no wonder it was called "Beam receive" in the past.
Thanks guy very helpful, I always wondered lol
It's just for to allow receiving of incoming bluetooth transfer, but I miss the IR port, remember those universal remote control software we used to be able to install.

I can successfully send files via Bluetooth PPC -> PC,
but I went I try in the other direction, PC -> PPC, I get the error (the Receive all incoming beams option on the PPC was enabled):
i never had issues maybe you need to upgrade the bluetooth software on the pc that is if you use vidcomm / broadcom
not sure if the nativ ms bluetooth stuff even support that it's pretty poor
also your screenshot is soo tiny you can make out what any of the dialogs say
not that i think being able to do so would help any
sorry, I uploaded again my error message screenshot (it has been automatically reduced by the web site because it was more than 19kB).

How do I know if I have the Microsoft of Widcomm bluetooth stack ?
Given the info I can see in the bluetooth app, I think I have none of them.
I've given "dell bluetooth software" a quick search; no really usable hits. You may want to do some more extensive search; for example, on Dell notebook forums. There must be some ways of hacking a Widcomm BT stack on your notebook.
Does it means I have a Dell bluetooth stack ?
I thought the only existing stack were the Microsoft and Widcomm stack.
Anyone having a Dell computer can tell me if I can upgrade my default Dell bluetooth stack ?
Hallo!
I've got an unusal problem...
I'd like to use my PPC (O² XdaMini) as a Bluetooth Dongle.
In my opinion there must be a way to connect the PPC with my notebook (that has no bluetooth integrated) via USB, and then to establish a bluetooth connection between my PPC and any other bluetooth device, which would finally be usable with my laptop.
This procedure is almost the same as using the PPC's integrated modem to get a webaccess with a notebook.
Of course I could buy a USB bluetooth dongle for my laptop. But there could be another way as well, isn't it?
Thx very much for your help, cheers
Sebi
have you got any answers?
I'm also looking for a "way" or " software"" to be able to do what you said. But I couldn't.
Did you have a solution.
This is a very common q - along with asking the same about Wi-Fi.
Currently, this is impossible.
I'm sure there is a simple answer to this, but I haven't been able to find it.
I am trying to transfer a ringtone via Bluetooth from my Krzr to my new Fuze, and I can't get it to work. The devices pair without any problem, but when I try to send the ringtone, I get a failed message. This is not a copy-protected ringtone - it's just a music file I created. Is there some trick to this? There are work-arounds (transfer the file to the computer and then to the Fuze), but it is annoying and seems like it should be easy to do.
Did you turn on the Beam function on the Fuze? It's in the Comm Manager.

I did. It didn't help.
Strangely, I can send files from the Fuze to the Krzr without a problem. But the Krzr can't send anything in reverse.
I haven't tried a phone to phone transfer yet, so not sure what else to advise. I know it works from computer to phone using bluetooth.
from my experience the bluetooth on this phone is absolutely terrible. itll connect just fine to my headset. but, i cannot for the life of me sync it up with my phone. bluetooth tethering is near impossible with all 3 of my bluetooth enabled laptops, as well as bluetooth activesync.
Go under Bluetooth settings under Comm Manager go to FTP Enable File Sharing and then go to security and turn off Authentication (Passkey) Required. You can keep Authentication on with another smart phone but when I wanted to send files from my LG non smart phone I had to turn it off.
I tried all the suggestions above, but with no luck. It's not the end of the world - the Bluetooth works with my headset, transferring files to/from the computer, and for tethering. It's more annoying than anything else, because there's no reason it shouldn't work.
Hi all,
I have searched and searched the forum and the internet but can find no answer to this issue.
I'm using an HTC Touch Dual (Neon 200) that I had set up to connect to my PC via bluetooth for Activesync.
No problems there, it all worked fine. The issue comes with my attempts to automate the synchronization. I had found and successfully used a program called CT Scheduler to start the bluetooth radio and then instigate the "Windows/repllog.exe" file to start a bluetooth activesync.
In Activesync, on the Touch, I go to "Menu-->Connections--->when cradled, synchronize all pc's using.........."
I had the option to select "`USB" or "`DIRECTORSOFFICE" (the name of my PC).
Now, I have no idea how the "`DIRECTORSOFFICE" option got there but I selected it and it all worked fine. I could connect via USB or Bluetooth and the auto-sync worked fine.
BUT, Here's the kicker, after a hard reset, I've restablished all my connections via bluetooth etc. and can manually initiate a sync via bluetooth. HOWEVER in the Activesync connections I can no longer select aything other than "`USB". For the life of me I cannot remember how I got the Touch to give me that other option and it is the ONLY thing preventing the auto bluetooth sync from working.
Any insight would be much appreciated.
Hi and welcome to XDA,
did you do a H-Reset or a new rom flash? the new rom may not support BT Activesync, you should also pair your phone to your PC, that may enable the option
Eh - my bad...should have specified in my OP. This is running stock WinMo 6.1 Professional.
Did you pair to your PC?
Not this time around.....dammit you know that sounds like it might be it! I'll have to a backup, hard reset and try it out.
If that's truly the case and I can get that option available again then I have a really tidy solution for people wanting to Autosync via Bluetooth.
(Although this is probably not an issue nowadays as most phones are coming with WiFi, so I guess people are syncing that way)

OK, got too excited there. Of course I must have paired it with the PC or I wouldn't have been able to Activesync via BT manually right?

Depends what stack you have
Sorry, i don't think i can help
If i find anything, i'll let you know
Default MS BT stack for WinMo Pro 6.1. I haven't changed anything on this ROM at all.
I must have done something during BT setup that allowed that option to appear but I'll be damned if I can remember what it was!
It's not a huge deal as I luckily had a backup with that configuration working, I was just being a bit anal about doing a complete clean install, there were a few programs I wanted to get rid of and felt my phone had slowed up a bit.
Cheers.
So, I noticed that my Bluetooth no longer works on my Focus.
I have it interloped unlocked and running OS version 7.10.8862.144
I was trying a Bluetooth file transfer program, and it no longer enables. If I toggle it, my phone thinks it's on, but the status bar icon never shows up. It can't see other bluetooth devices and they can't see it.
My guess is that the file transfer program screwed up some settings.
Anyone willing to look for the settings I should have in the registry and possibly the driver names?
What is your Bluetooth file transfer program?
I removed it after it didn't work. The suppose bigger issue is that I tried a few programs, and I don't remember the names.
The ones I remember are as fallows : BT Transfer, DFT BT File Transfer, and Nokia Bluetooth Share.
DFT BT File Transfer for Full Unlock.
Nokia Bluetooth Share must have Nokia drivers on your phone.
Ok, but my issue is that Bluetooth no longer works at all.
