Ok guys, so WM6 on Tornado exists (currently running on my device as we speak). But there are quite a few things we need to sort out before it can be released 'En Masse' Before this time I will ignore ALL PMs asking for the ROM.
There is a WM6 comments/suggestion/speculation thread HERE. Feel free to put in requests for embedded apps etc, but please realise we won't be able to put in EVERYTHING. So when the ROM is at a more completed stage we will draw up a shortlist for the apps etc to be embedded and let you vote it out
Current Issues:
Still has identifying build numbers etc to my source
Doesn't sync at all with a PC but will sync over exchange
It says WM5 with MSFP when its really WM6 (OS 5.2.xxx)
No Camera
No MMS
Issues fixed:
Wifi not accessable - new comm manager
No Office (fixed with a cab)
No t9 - updated to xT9 with 14 languages (fixed with a cab)
WLM is still beta and so needs removing and then updating (fixed with WLM RTM cab)
Things we need from a Tornado WM5 ROM
Camera.exe with all the mui extensions
Lets keep this thread clean, ok? I don't want sh!t loads of n00bs saying "where can I download ROM?". So, before you ask, here's my answer. YOU CAN'T DOWNLOAD IT UNTIL ITS FINISHED!!!!
If a mod could remove such posts i'd be forever grateful

So... i am Alex from ronswens forum. i promise to fix that if you give me the rom and you can contact me via ICQ .. we need at least 3 tests - first, we upgrade xip, then new os build and then fix the camera...

I think this is the sort of n00b-ish comment jm012a9749's trying to avoid in this thread.
I mean, honestly, do you think he believes he's the only one to have attained a tornado version? Come on...
Look, this guy is aware of Duke's efforts, heck we all are, but the more people who get involved, the more efficiently we can get a polished product. There's no guarantee that Duke nor jm012a9749 will be able to do anything, so why should any of us sit back and not get involved? Besides, Duke himself has mentioned that he needs help since he's not an experienced Rom cooker.
Sorry for the rant here, but this sort of attitude really bothers me. Saying "oh, someone's already doing that, sit back and don't waste your time" is why certain projects never see the light of day...
Please only post helpful information or questions!
you can fix activesync by replacing the usbfn.dll file.

as usual, ronswens.jconserv.net. as for active sync, i remember those early builds missed actsync.dll.. but better give me the rom, i will use build 17xxx from excalibur and drivers, camera, t9 etc from wm5

Exactly, since day 1 I've been working with duke_stix to help get a working version of crossbow. However now that I've made some progress and actually HAVE a device myself to test on, I felt it was nessary to start a new thread dedicated to it rather than the old dump rom thread

Hi, I found this camera software. Its the one they using in WM6 i think. (Its kinda like the one on my Vox) Im using it on my tronado, and it works with some cert fixes.

Also does anybody have the Arcsoft MMS client? I've been searching for a while now but no dice. Also could do with the default windows task manager as well.

You can have the WIFI option appear on its current Comm Manager thru Registry.. i have tried it and it worked.. but anyway, glad the new Comm Manager worked also..
The new comm manager also has flight mode, beam and IP Phone buttons on it

You can't open the Sound in Settings (Settings - Sounds)
Culprit could be the file soundsgsm.cpl.xml on /windows/ directory

It is a big question, but all your questions are answered in this huge forum already, so you have to go and do some reading and searching for yourself and you will find all your answers, plus more and you will learn a lot. You will see what people said about 6.1 and you will see waht people said about BT just by reading other threads.

1. the vibrate function can provide you hours of enjoyment, with proper placement (external or internal, your choice)
2. install as many programs as possible, filling up both main memory and storage card, using them once or twice then never use them again. after flashing a new rom, install a new assortment of software you probably don't need.
3. re-encode your favourite pr0n to ppc scaling and impress your friends with today's pocket pr0n.
4. port over wm5 from the wizard (blinding speeds, you won't be sorry)
5. read ALL the stickies in Kaiser upgrading area of forum (this isn't near as fun as the other suggestions, but you'll be able to answer your own questions, and be comfortable in the knowledge that you can hack your phone "without any help")
1 and 3 make a nice combo too!
Yes there is a WM6.1 upgrade, i am using Shaps at the moment and it seems to work fine for me.
WM6.1 doesnt give you a huge amount new, Shaps 6.1 rom for me has been stable and quick, i dont tend to install much on my phones though other than the included stuff. I do a few bits and install TomTom. 6.1 has threaded sms which is nice but has some annoying little issues, like i cant seem to find a way to forward sms messages any more. bit annoying.
Flicking through some of the other forums people seemed to be muttering about not being able to sync there 6.1 phones with ex2003, i use ex2007 though so i cant comment, mine works fine.
Havent noticed any bad sound quality over bluetooth. Be more specific though, do you mean stereo bluetooth or just normal.
I use the htc home plugin looks nice and works well.

The Windows Mobile Version of mine is a spanish one. And i would lik to have an english version of it. Is it somehow possible to install a language packet or to get another version of WM?
I hope you guys can help me with this. I know this isnt exactly a pocket-pc-forum, but maybe you know something.

Just like Windows desktop OS's, you must reinstall the OS to change the language.
It's not an easy process if you are not familiar with your device. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, there is a forum devoted to your device. You should find a lot of information there.

Hello, I'm new here.. actually the previous owner of the phone sent me here. Well in summary, I brought a HTC Tilt from someone and they had PDA Corner Ultimate with this on it (R 1.70.19.09 G25.83.40.02 h D 3. Abusalza). Now I have no clue what that all means but I like the phone. First off once I get the IE homepage and type anything in the search part, the website is tiny (unable to read). i tried adjusting the text size and still the same thing. Then it will not allow me to select what I'm searching for (i.e. search- yahoo messenger, bring up the site but I can not select it or go to the page). Next it started acting weird by putting 5s in the address bar (on its own). I've been looking throught this site, trying and hoping that I will find something to help. I may have bypast it (too tired now). Can someone help me figure this out? I also would like to flash WM6.5 on here. i read the tut for that but was wondering do I have to remove the stuff thats on here first? Thank you and feel free to ask me more about this.

I had to step away and take a break. No offence but I'm still lost. On the other hand I'm still reading up on this. i think i might just start from scratch. I'm looking inthe phone to see what programs like and post it on the thread where I can get a custom ROM.
the att tilt is the att variant of the htc kaiser (the only difference is the keyboard layout which may need to be fixed depending on the rom source.. you will just need to install a cab), check the kaiser rom section. As for a recommended 6.5 rom, its a person opinion, but i use anryls Roms.. and for you i would recommend the 21500 rev6 build (i have been having corruption problems with all the 21501 versions) To warn you though, 6.5 is not finished and there for not completly stable.... for example the camera does not work with htc menu enhancement (its a driver issue)
Like i said if you wanna look around for yourself sheck the kaiser rom section.
