Debug MSSYNCAPP error? - General Topics

I've got a new wm6-based Verizon XV6800. Every so often I get an error reading:
The file ':MSSYNCAPP cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.

But everything seems to be working fine. It just burps this error, on the XV6800 itself. I see no messages on the desktop. I can load apps, sync, etc... and not see the error. I cannot seem to manually recreate the error.
I get no errors when using the ActiveSync troubleshooter.
Where else should I start looking to debug what's causing this error?

Can't be certain but I think it's related to Windows Media Player 11. If I leave WMP11 open and running the sync errors seem to not happen.

OUTLOOK problems

Cingular 2125, HTC Wizard, XP Pro SP3, Outlook 2002.
I have a problem with Outlook. It won't back up my contacts. When I do, it "successfully syncs" and never writes the new data...only sometimes reporting any error at all.
I've tried re registering the OLE files, doing a repair install, and even a complete reinstallation of Outlook 2002, but nothing works. I keep getting the following error:
Error 1402. Setup cannot open the registry key UNKNOWN\MsoHelpAWDlg\CLSID.
Google searches have turned up a number of possibilities, but none have helped me fix this problem. It's not the OLE files, it's not contacts with notes, it's not a corrupted PST file...
To me, the beginning of the key, UNKNOWN, implies the problem. It's obvious that Outlook has forgotten where to look for its own registry values, but I'm not sure where this data is stored. I've even checked *in* the registry and the values seem to be present and correct. It's just that, somewhere, SOMETHING has gotten corrupted...and I've not been able to find it.
Because of the error, Outlook won't let me install, uninstall, or repair install the package. Even tried putting it in a different directory...same results. It always fails at the same point, with the same error. I'm at my wit's end...ready to do backups to my laptop, if the desktop won't work right. HEEEELP!
Can anyone help?

having problems installing OMARKET

everything install properly and all i need to do is login, and everytime i log in it says "connection failed! Please check your internet connection and try again" well ive checked it and it works with every other program, has anyone had this problem?
Strange, I just went to run Open Market today and for whatever reason, the icon was there, but the shortcut was dead.
I tried reinstalling to the storage card but uninstall failed. Turns out I couldn't delete the folder either. I wound up just installing it to the device and it's now working fine...Best of luck.

Go to freewarepocketpc.net from your pc, and register there. Then use that login info on your phone and it will let you login.
It says connection error, but the real problem is that you cannot register from application on your phone and it gives such error when you try to login.
Cheers. Gjizaqin
Well, I also have that. And it also happens when trying to connect to FB or Twitter with SPB Mobile Shell. Other apps just work tho. So far those 2 are the only ones that no longer work. All I did was try to install some Manila 2D cabs and ended up uninstalling them.
So I think one of the cabs was responsible for it but no idea which or what has been altered.

I'm getting the login failure also and I've been registered for a year. Today is the only day I have been getting this failure message. I'm logged into FreewarePPC but Omarket still won't log in.

Birdiesync problem on wm6

Hy.
I installed Birdiesync on my Tre0 750, then it has expired, and i uninstalled it. Since then, i'm getting a message, everytime i'm connecting to the internet or to my calc. that "Cannot execute \program files\Birdiesync\Birdiesync.exe." I searched in P. files, there is no such file or folder. In windows startup the same, i even checked with a registry editor, but the file was probably deleted.
So, where it initializez? How can i get rid of the message?
Did you get this issue resolved? I about to give BirdieSync a try with their 21 day trial...but I don't want to even install it if it doesn't leave your phone how it was after it's gone.
Did you even like the program, or did you just uninstall for other reasons. I'm using finchsync, the free alternative...but development stopped on it so long ago I wasnt to try something new.
Yes, i resolved it. I installed it again, and then uninstalled it again, whith my phone disconnected from the computer. It worked this way. Yes, the program works fine, doing what is expected to...

Windows Store Issue

Okay, not sure where to start, but my Windows Store quit working. I was doing a search in the store when it crashed. Every time I go to load it, I get a spinning circle and it just does this for an indefinite length of time.
So far, I have ran wsreset multiple times, both as administrator, and as a regular user. It still continues to be stuck loading. I also ran system file checker to see if there was any file corruption but it found no issues. Is there something simple that I am missing here?
Thanks!
Hello !
I've got the same problem as yours, and I tried everything. Rebooting, use the MS tool to fix store problems, I even 'refreshed' the surface (RT 1st gen for me) but with the option to keep all the files and settings. No luck.
Then I created a new local dummy user account on the surface and the store was loading... But only for that user, not for me.
So I decided to backup everything in One Drive, and restore my surface from scratch... At the restore window, I chose to start without a previous backup and setup like a new device.
Now the store is loading properly. Sadly I have not found any other solution

I had this problem and fixed it by changing my Microsoft Account password.
It then forced the app to ask me for a password.
With the new password entered, the Store and Skydrive worked perfectly. (No need to refresh the device)

Thanks. I actually did refresh my Surface, but settings were a piece of cake to restore. And yes, the store works now. I will try this option in the future though.
I had the same problem and I found a fix for it on in the microsoft knowledge base. I can't remember the details but it involved clearing the cache through the command prompt I believe.
You should just call MS support, I'm sure their tech would know exactly what to do.

[Solved] Anybody else unable to use HTC Sense TV?

My HTC One M8 has a stock rom, is rooted and has an unlocked bootloader. I have not been able to use HTC Sense TV. I received a message "Unable to retrieve data from the server. Please try again later." after click the finish button at the end of the setup. This message pops up for several setup trials during the last 2 days now. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Is anybody else able to use Sense TV after root and unlock?
04/19/2014 03:10 PM: Able to access the server after multiple setup tries.
I've been able to set it up and use it. I get the "Unable to retrieve data from server" sometimes when I first open the app, but everything still loads and works fine.
