Yes it is great but you will still have user's that won't know how to do a HardSPL. I think this should be made a sticky or attached to the HardSPL sticky that is already created.

You've already been given instructions and links on how to downgrade ipl/spl. One person even provided a cab especially for you that should have downgraded your ipl/spl (and you say it only did the ipl..as I recall) Yes it can be done...many of us manage it every day. If you can't get it to work perhaps you need to take it to someone and pay them to do it..and perhaps next time don't be in such a rush to jump to the latest/greatest version.

Either 1) You've managed to damage your phone to such a extent that the NORMAL downgrade procedures will not work or 2) You can't follow instructions.
In either case, you need to take your phone to someone who repairs them and pay them to fix the issue.

Yes, and the instructions you SHOULD have followed are in the 6th and 8th post.
You are a perfect example of why the more experienced posters (I'm not claiming to be one of them) no longer want to answer questions on this board. You have been given the answer multiple times...you ignore it.and then you post multiple times asking the same thing.
Whatever rom you currently have installed...keep using it or buy a simpler phone that you can handle.

I just read this entire thread and agree with you entirely. I am by no means an expert and have no knowledge of G3 since I have a G4 but at least I can read and only ask questions when I really can't figure it out and then actually listen to whoever is helping me. I like helping people with what I do know, but this thread is just rediculous.
you can downgrade from 3.08 IPL/SPL by flashing the stock 2.26 tmobile ROM. i do it before every flash. i flash back to the 2.26 ROM to lower my IPL/SPL, then i flash my new ROM, then i flash 3.08 IPL/SPL. works every time...totally repeatable. STOP BEING A EFFIN NOOB

Totally new to the site...I got my first PDA a couple of days ago, i've got the o2 XDA STELLAR - which i belive i'm in the right part of the forum for..
Now i'd like to installed a new ROM from on here, i belive Dutty's is the one i'd like to go for, could someone please give me the direct link to the latest ROM to download for my phone please, as i'm a bit confused to which one it is! I'll learn in time!

There are so many things wrong with your post ... but i won't waste time on counting them ... here is what you need to do:
1) read the kaiser wiki
2) read the kaiser wiki's section on rom upgrading and flashing
3) read about Hardspl ... make sure you get this before you fflash any roms to your device.
4) research and understand what flashing is and what happens to your phone when you flash.
5) download the rom and flash to your phone after establishing pc connection.
Oh and since you asked such a redundant question i am sure a mod will close this thread ... considering you didn't bother reading the below:

On the contrary. Dutty just released a ROM a few days ago, and has promised V2 of that ROM soon.

Ok i've been runing L26 v12 full for sometime with no issues, tha is untill i woke up the morning. I found my phone was at the hard.spl3.56 rainbow screen and its stuck! Does anyone have any sugestions or thoughts on what I could do to get this back to a ROM that works? I've been reading the board and I dont think this has been brought up before.

Be aware that some of this is specific to the HTC Dream and not HTC Magic / Sapphire
That's the reason why! We need specific tutorials for MAGIC.
For example I'd liek to try some coocked ROMS on my Voda Magic.
But I need to do first a backup of my original ROM so i can revert back to the factory ROM.
But I'm a little confused about it and a tutorial would help me much!

I have recently changed ova from wm6 and used to flash my old phone all the time!
I want to see some tutorials specific to the magic and sum roms specific to the magic.
Or is the hardware similar enough to use the g1 roms?? I have read you can, but i would have thought the magic would have some hardware that the g1 doesnt??

Guys I succesfully dumped Cotulla dft sspl hd mini bootloader from ram, hex compared it, ida pro compared also (I see in asm all modifications, I see deleted parts of spl in sspl, but I am not an expert in asm) so I waiting an developer who is good in asm to enable spl uploading to nand from sspl! Here is all you need: (spl is original hd mini bootloader, sspl is modified hd mini bootloader but sspl is able only to flash rom and not spl "Cotulla disabled that option!"). There is raw dump and raw dump in hex and there is an hard spl hspl from htc hd2 leo dumped directly from memory! Also there is sspl.exe (from there I dumped sspl) extracted from Cotulla dft sspl hd mini (run from winCe - you will see 3 color screen - temporaly super cid enabled bootloader!)
I tried all to get writing to memory region (spl region in nand) but absolutely no way to write to that memory region, so I stoping here all my developments ...I want to say you GOOD LUCK with our phone ...goodbye guys

I think maybe the bootloader in wildfier S may indicate something.
2.maybe we need sometool like RSA(motorola) to crack the spl.

Well... they're hidden often times (not always), but I wish they need some help of us....
I don't know what they're doing with the project.. I saw the Issues page, but in what stage.. it looks like isn't up to date.. don't know..
I liked to know how they're now.. do they need any help us.. or something another else?

they are not hidden,they are just not this kind of developers which says "i think i fixed this and that"(and finally it wasn't) ..they will post fixes(tested fixes) and releases,and also answering and supporting their releases.
When a fix will be done they will post about it,don't worry
As about help..i don't think you have the knowledge to help them..do you know how to unlock bootloader,how to fix video,etc?
