Windows SideShow for Windows Mobile is an application for Windows Mobile 5 and 6 PocketPCs and Smartphones that allows you to use your Windows Mobile device as a Bluetooth SideShow device. Installation instructions are below. This is a beta release.

I've not got this working with my wm6.1 ipaq ppc (classic) with widcomm stack.
please let us know if you get it working with your device (hw&sw versions) and any comments.
Also if you find any gadgets that you recommend let us all know.
Samsung i600 is working perfectly, but there are very few sideshow gadgets and most of them suck .
The mobile app says it is a beta and has expired, does anyone know if there is a newer/better version out there I've been looking all over the place and cant find anything? Am I the only person who thinks sideshow is really cool???
i am also getting a similar message that beta has expired ... any help
Just found this

Ive had the cab for this for ages, but only recently have I had vista to be able to use it.
Ive had it working well on:
HTC S710 VOX
HTC P3450 ELF
HTC P3450 ELFIN
Doesnt seem to work on my Polaris, doesn't seem to save my user name. Always get asked to "Selected Current User" and can never turn on any gadgets in windows. Anyone else with the same problem?
thats what the expired cab did for me. have you uninstalled the old one and reinstalled the new one?
i'm using it for the media centre gadgets, but i have TV Pack 2008 and they dont work with it :-(
i've been waiting years for sideshow and now the thing i want to use it with isnt suported

yeah tried to install the new one but doesn't work. Apparently Microsoft are working on this but I don't think they will release anything soon. They stated that "We have seen this issue, and are investigating the cause. It seems to be sporadic." Testing this on Windows 7 beta so don't know whether this is the cause or whether it might be the ROM I am using.
has anyone installed any antivurs software for the touch pro.
if so which one is the best.
thanks
There is no realistic virus threat for Windows Mobile, so AV for the platform is currently just a waste of time, resources, and money. Currently the best WM AV is no AV.
hi ,, anyone knows of a good freeware website for today plugins?
so far, those i find are links to old WM2003 etc kinda plugins... nothing useful..
pls advise
when you google you can also use pocketpc thats a more uniqe name then windows mobile
ppc2003 today plugins works just fine on newer windows mobile devices
can anyone help me? I've been looking for a dictionary app for the hd2 and haven't had any luck! ino there is tons for the iphone so just woundering if there is any for this, thanks.
I am using "Langenscheidt Dictionary for Windows Mobile".
But I guess it's only available in german...
Install Microsoft Reader and then download the free Encarta Pocket Dictionary. I have used it for ages with other Windows Mobile devices. Actually can read various books with pocket Microsoft Reader. Ed
Edit.... Not sure Microsoft Reader will work with 6.5.... It appears the available app is for wm 6.1 maybe you could try it for us and report back. Regards
There are lots of dictionary apps for windows mobile.

As a matter of fact I do think that there are lots of really good softs for windows mobile and they definitely can compete with Iphone ... and without the need to jailbreak or hack your own phone to be able to customize it a little bit !
But it is also a fact that it is more difficult to find the softs as there is no softaware catalog that could compete with the centralized AppStore : you have to search with google with a lots of keywords : Pocket PC, wm5, wm6, wm6.1, wm6.5, windows mobile and so on ...
<OFF TOPIC>
Yet the biggest enemy of Window Mobile in the ability to compete with Iphone is from my point of view ... Microsoft :
- With the aberrant conditions to entry MarketPlace for developers,
- And with their crappy windows phone 7 series that is maybe the biggest step backward in computer industry that I've ever seen,
they will totally kill Window Mobile and commit suicide to their mobile department !

I got it working good

Apart from "Encarta Pocket Dictionary" it is available the "Oxford English Dictionay" in .lit format for free some where in the net, and if you have a dictionary in .doc format (with hypertextual links) you can convert it to .lit format using the appropriate mirosoft word patch, all links will work in .lit too.
I removed my 16gb micro sd and put it in my Vista computer. Immediately the computer advised there's a trojan horse on the card with the name of iyheuz.exe. I searched the net and find very few references to this particular Trojan.
Anybody know of it? Is this a WinMo trojan? Anyone experienced the same? Any ideas for how to remove it?
Thanks
How to remove: Delete it...it's on your SDCard, so as long as you don't run it you should be fine...
Alot of the times people use UPX to compact the size of their program/exe, and that is a commonly used compression method people use for viruses, so it can be redflagged by A/V programs.
My advice, if you don't want to get rid of it, upload it to totalvirus.com and check the results...
I am wondering that Windows Mobile and Windows XP/ Vista are totally different environments. So i think if O.S from PC recognizes that kind of virus but PPC => that kind of Trojan/ Virus just takes effect in PC O.S environment ==> It's windows XP/ Vista's virus

yeah, also, warez and cracked programs tend to pop up as viruses.
So unless you know what you're doing you can get screwed by getting bootleg stuff and it could cost you alot more than the $1-5 the program costed in the first place...
Thanks for the replies. About bootleg programs. I've only got one program installed, and I got it from the developer. Never heard anyone complaining about it.

Exactly, that could be the case. Thanks.
