How to keep bluetooth connectivity in standby mode with a Dell X51v ? - General Topics

I have a Dell X51v and a HTC universal, both of them have been upgraded to wm6. When I use the universal(I removed the sim card and disabled the phone function), I connect it to a Nokia mobilephone E61 through bluetooth and let the E61 as a bluetooth modem. And when the universal turn into standby mode after several minutes I don't use it, the connection is still keep alive. But when I use the X51v instead of the universal by the same method, there is a problem, that is when the X51v turn into standby mode, the bluetooth of X51v automatically turned off,and it disconnect with Nokia E61,and the internet connect is lost.
It's really drive me mad. As I want to use X51v to get windows live messenger online all the day.But the problem makes it impossible. But why the universal is OK?Can the X51v perform just as universal?Just not to disable the bluetooth funtion when in standby mode?
wait for a method,Thank you.

welcome to xda-devs
this is a fundamental difference between the "standard" Pocket PC OS and the Phone Edition one and can't be fixed. all you can do is disabling the auto-shutdown on the x51v and just use screen dimming and/or button locking

Trouble pairing TomTom Bluetooth GPS with XDA2s

As can be seem above, im having mucho trouble pairing successfully with my XDA2s (Win Mobile second 2003 edition ver 4.21.1088 (build 14132)
(The receiver is fine as I have paired it with other devices) It picks it up in the wizard on the xda but with a question mark against it and when I try to go to the next stage it keeps saying service discovery was unsuccessful
Any ideas?
let the receiver drain totoally then the recharge it fully an try again
as a metter of interest what makes u think that will work? It wont work even with the power supply plugged into it?
Could it not be the software on the xda2s as it wouldnt work on my friends identical model either.
I did have a rikaline 6031 x7 which worked no problem on the xda2s though
Strange and stranger
It might work because: By draining the GPS, it resets to factory defaults.
This is the only way ie. to get a Holux GR-230 / DConnex DC-230 come back to live when you acidentally messed with baudrate & protocol at the same time (on some GPS Rom versions that is).
Nope, that didnt work either, its still showing on the xda as having a problem
Just a thought but have you enabled the Receive all Beams function under the connection tab ? :?:
disabling the "receive all incoming beams" is only applicable when using COM1 (ie via a wired GPS).
BT GPS's mostly (standard anyway in ROM 1.72) connect via COM5 (the outbound port).
Also: try the Blue Angel (the XDA2s is a Blue Angel right?) forum
Make sure you download the latest GPs driver for the XDA series from the tomtom website. Worked for me.

Bluetooth activesync on two different PC's

I use my XDA II to activesync with bluetooth on both my work and home laptop.
The problem I face is the following.
If I have activesynced at home, and need to activesync at work, I need to reconfigure the activesync bonding with my work PC or vice-versa
Even if I select the proper PC through the activesync oprions, I still need to repeat the bonding each time I want to switch from one PC to the other.
Is there a way to overcome this constant re-bonding?
I have 1.72 version installed.
i think the vidcomm bluetooth stack support it

Dialing over Bluetooth - works on every device EXCEPT Jam!!

HI,
I have been trying to connect to the internet on my Jam but via a Bluetooth connection to my Sony-Ericsson K750i.
I need to do this because my company pays the bill on the SE phone and I don't want to have to pay to download my email!
I can connect successfully from my old Palm (which I don't use anymore), from my laptop (which I don't want to carry) and from an O2 XDA Exec (tried in an O2 store) but not from my Jam.
Is anyone else able to do this? Or is it a restriction of Windows Mobile 2003 SE?
Thanks in advance
xerxes
How about putting the K750i sim into the Jam when you want to check your email? That should work.
That does work but I'm trying to get my Jam to automatically connect to the phone and download my email every 60 mins.
Also, I'm interested to know whether PPCPE 2003 SE has been limited in some way to prevent the user from making a connection via an external phone.
I've also noticed that I am unable to dial over bluetooth from Pocket Informant, while my mate's Ipaq can dial my phone with no problems.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I can tell you what, though. WM2003SE does not have a limitation you're thinking of. At one time I was successfully using my girlfriend's Nokia 6681 as a BT modem for my Magician, taking full advantage of the EDGE network. It was working fine. The sad part is that it doesn't now for some wierd reason. So it can work. But for now I have yet to figure out (again) how to make it work. Maybe there is a conflict with some software, like that A2DP patch. But I think I tried it also right after a hard reset. No go.
I also tried it after a hard reset - with no better result.
I was wondering whether it might be an issue with Bluetooth on the K750i as I know it also has a problem with some headsets but if you have seen the same thing occuring with a different phone I guess it must be a PPCPE problem.
use pocket bluetooth tools
I've been using this software for about 4 months, and it works fine for my mini. I'm using a nokia 6255 bluetooth modem cdma as a bluetooth modem cause the internet rate is cheaper than gprs

BT connection to ActiveSync only works once

I can sync my ATT FUZE to AC via USB with no problems. I can then connect via BT. Later on, BT no longer works. FUZE says "connected", notebook says not connected. If I delete the association, and start over with USB, then BT will work again, but won't stick.
OS = Vista 32 Biz (not SP1)
PC = Sony VAIO, with the Toshiba BT stack removed, working otherwise fine with uSoft BT stack
Same problem here with Vista and the MS stack. In fact I have given with BT sync and use USB. This way I avoid this problem and I also keep the phone charged (as a workaround for the appalling battery performance)
I had the identical problem before with the Toshiba stack and a Treo 750, so don't think it is a WM / HTC issue, though I wonder what makes them think they are connected. I think it is actually with AS, but don't know how to fix.

TP Bluetooth conflicting w/ Dell Bluetooth adapter on PC?

Ever since I got my TP, I’ve been using the Bluetooth function a lot, specifically to sync with my PC. What is weird is that at random times when my TP is connected to my Dell PC, the Bluetooth fuction will just shut off. I know it’s shut off because the TP will disconnect as well as my Bluetooth mouse. I have to turn off the Bluetooth adapter on my Dell laptop and turn it back on again.
Anyone else having this issue?
The problem is with your PC, not your phone. Make sure you have the latest bluetooth driver. I suggest searching Dell support.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of.
Thanks!
