How to i change the kaiser keyboard sound? I know that i have to use a value for 4_in and 4_out but can't get it to work and also hw to i get to HKLM folder? thanks
HKLM is a registery folder, to get access to this you need a reg editing program like total commander, just do a search for registry and i'm sure you'll find a list of programs.
As for the first part of the question no clue sorry.
cheers
I found that folder hklm and managed to add a sub folder with all the values but stlil wont play my wav files as the keyboard sounds

I have the extended rom and the myfaves software found in other posts that is missing parts of the software still when the program tries to run. I was wondering if anyone could post the registry entries on the wing to help us know what programs/registry enteries are needed or are missing.
For starters, in previous postings the myfaves zip file that another member so graciously put together, has a good chunk of the files. However there are still some files missing. Through some research I know that the myfaves program uses/references a program called SMSCReceiver.exe, which I believe is the status service that checks the network for myfaves access. That is one of the programs missing.
I am specifically looking for SMSCReceiver.exe and the registry entries for HKLM > SOFTWARE > HTC > My5 (and any sub entries in that folder)
Thanks in advance!
I can't find the SMSCReceiver.exe in the dump but the registry entry is attached.
My day trying to fix the L2TP/IPSec issue wasn't completely wasted
Now if you want to help me with my L2TP/IPSec issue......
Andy
thanks for the reg stuff.
another registry request from the wing users..
can i get the reg settings for the HKLM --> Software --> Microsoft --> Today --> Items. I want all keys located under Items including subkeys and values.
** The previous registry settings did help me get part of the myFaves software working. It helped me in getting the settings control panel option to function. When I press the option to refresh myFaves it does send the sms out and I get a return sms stating that my myfaves contacts have been refreshed. **
Thanks in Advance.
** EDIT **
After reviewing the registry file I have found that the following files are missing from the MyFaves zip file that is floating around there. The missing files and their locations are:
\Windows\myFaves_BackgroundImage.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_4.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_3.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_2.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_1.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_0.jpg
If anyone has these as well could you please post them? Thanks!

Not having a my favs phone can cause billing issues down the road. T-Mo's system knows what device you're using and the MDA is not a my favs phone.
I have a cousin who's been a manager for a couple of years now and he gets all the inside info for me. He say's you can use it but down the road it may or can cause billing issues.
Work-around, by a cheapy or prepay ($35) my favs phone and set it up on your account as the phone you use...every once in a while, put your sim in it and let it register with the network.

and a cab file for the reg settings
I took the file, myFaves_PhCDefault.jpg, and made five copies of it and put the five copies (appropriately renamed according to the registry) in \Application Data\HTC\myfaves as is shown in the registry. I did not do the myFaves_BackgroundImage.jpg as I am not sure how big the file is supposed to be though (and actually am not sure about the contact_#.jpg's either):
\Windows\myFaves_BackgroundImage.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_4.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_3.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_2.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_1.jpg
\Application Data\HTC\myFaves\Contact_0.jpg
I put a shortcut to the My5Service.exe file in the \Windows\Startup folder and soft reset.
Even after all this, when I attempt to launch My5App.exe, I get the message:
The file 'My5App' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.
I will try to google to find out about the missing jpgs when I get back from dinner.
I tried searching for the filename as listed via google but no luck on that front.
Someone whom has a myfaves phone could be so kind to post the 6 files in a zip file would be great and their folder locations. In addition, an export of HKCU and HKLM registry keys since I am guessing there is more than the my5 key in the HKLM section of the registry that we need. Lastly, is there a link to My5Service in the \windows\startup folder as well (I did already try that but who knows).
Thanks.
I'm currently using Equinoexe's Touchflo rom (VERY slick BTW, kudos to him!), and the only thing I'm having a problem with is the camera that's packaged with it... Does anyone have 3.0 or 3.3 wrapped up in a cab file? I've searched and searched, and nothing comes up.
THANKS!
I believe copying files does the trick. For me it didn't. I am also looking to make it work but I gave up.
yes, any1 have cab file?
I'd be interested in the Camera files as a cab too.
Here's Faria's 3.3 camera files, but they're not in a cab. It includes a readme.txt file instructing where to dump the files.
reg key
does anyone know where abouts in the registry the reg key goes or wot prog ram i could use to import the key
i'd like to add that in the rar file posted for faria's 3.3 camera, there are files to place in windows, and instructions to also import a reg key for the camera. that reg key, however, isn't included with the package.. does anyone know what is needed?
The registration included to the package but it is hidden because the extension is reg which connected to the files system. If you want to see, you must set your windows to appear the files system.
For example Resco explorer has the option to show hidden files, then to apply the reg file, just double click it.
Whilst browsing through the registry using Total Commander, in HKLM, I edited a "folder" by accident and changed the name to just the letter "q". I couldn't find a way to undo this in Totalcommander so I'm not stuck with it.
Could someone please search their registry for msacm.msg711 and tell me the folder which it's in. I'd really appreciate it as I've read it could have something to do with sound input, so it could be quite important.
EDIT: I've renamed the folder to "Drivers32" as I think that's what it was, as there isn't a Drivers32 folder in HKLM anymore. Could someone please just confirm this.
Regards
HKLM\AudioCompressionManager\DriverCache\msacm.msg711
and HKLM\Drivers32\msacm.msg711
Great, thankyou for spending the time finding that info for me - could have saved me a lot of potential problems.
Will have to be more careful in TotalCommander in future!

HKLM= H Key Local machine
It is just an abbreviation that is used by some registry programs and such.
There are programs that can apply some of the commonly used tweaks. You can search the forum for advanced config.

I used that whenever I made registry entries. It's a pretty good program thats extremely lightweight and gives you access to everything in the registry so you can edit it from your pc. Just connect with activesync. Just make sure you either make a backup or you know exactly what you're changing before you change it
also as a side note, some registry changes don't stick after a soft reset. If thats the case (happens when editing the registry for something thats open) power off your device by holding down the power button and reboot.
Access Fuze Registry
I am being denied access to my Fuze Registry using Mobile Registry Editor. When I try to delete a registry, it says that access is denied. I did not have this problem with my Tilt. Am I missing something?
Access denied issue
Your fuze and tilte both usually lock the registry in an attempt to prevent harmful changes when deleting or modifying certain values. But the solution is to use an internal registry editor or some other registry editor. such as the one that comes with pocket controller, if you have the cash haha, internal editing can be done with resco explorer's registry add in, again if you have the cash, but these tools are invaluable when editing your device to your preferences.
Hello all,
Been doing as much reading as possible trying to figure out what I am sure is an obvious in my face answer. I am trying to use Resco Explorer to make a couple changes but i can not locate HKLM in order to;
Go to HKLM/Software/Samsung/JINBOX and set "ThreadedViewDisabled" from 0 to 1.
I have Resco 2010 with the addins. I understand this to be "the" program to use. But I can't find a "dummies" how to use it...
Any help would be appreciated.
Resco Explorer
Hi Iam trying to find KKLM software in resco explorer.
Does anyone know how I find this ?
There's no such thing like KKLM in Windoze, unless you create a folder named like this.
Maybe you mean HKLM and you can find it in the registry...but you need to have a registry editor installed (in Resco's case, the registry add-on).
If you have installed the registry add-on, follow these steps:
Tap the 'up' button multiple times until you reach the end.
There, you can see something like 'registry'.
Tap it, tap HKEY Local Machine, tap Software, etc.
thank you
