Hi all,
I just picked up my Touch Cruise from ezshop.gr – the online shop of ACE-Hellas – distributor of HTC in Greece.
Yes Cruise is available in limited quantities as they say and you can see the photos as proof.
It seems that Cruise belongs to Greece as ACE-Hellas announced it in public 3 days before HTC officially announced it to the press, in the local DTE exhibition show.
Now
The first Photos of the HTC Cruise in Europe only for XDA users

Fresh News from ezshop.gr !!
Cruise sold out already !!
Mastelos & MinOtaVrS Cruise together !!
Nice, can you provide details on what's in the box? MobilePlant/Expansys doesn't say.
If I look correctly, is the screen black?
There have been a lot of doubts about the screen, if they only have a "silver" version or also the "black" version:
<-- the black version
<-- the silver version
Is this really a difference, or is it just the light?
And how does the screen reflect? Is it too much?
in the box there ac/dc socket, usb cable, ear phones, stylus, protection sheath,cd manual.

Thanks man. Look great. Enjoy your new device.
Awesome. They make quite a pair. Both sharp looking devices. Looks like you might be able to tell us if accessories are compatible too.
One HUGE question I think everyone is wanting feedback on is video playback. Since you have an Artemis, this should also be a good comparison. Do you use the Artemis for Vids? If so, what codecs and rates do you use, and does the Polaris do a better or worse job with the same file encoding(s). I think there is a suspician that the Polaris will be similar to the Kaiser (since it uses the same chipset) and the video playback will be poor.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=351986
This will likely be a make or break issue for me, so any advice would be very welcome.
You have any Artemis cradles or holders? If so does it fit?
Yes the assessories of Artemis are FULL compatible with Polaris we have a brando Car holder and fits exactly..
The first impressions of vids are Perfect, Artemis lag not appears with Polaris we continue the tests and we inform u, The tube also is too fast no cracking like Artemis.

Sweet! Specifics on file encodings would be very helpful and enlightening.
Apparently the issue also affects game play. Not much for games on myself, but I know many others are very interested.
Awesome! I love the black colour that ya got. I wonder if they come in white as well.
Do let us know if you happen to try out stereo BT, and to see whether the music skips while playing high quality stereo. Most PPCs sucked in that...
Thanks!

Couldn't wait for someone else to report back, so ordered one myself.
I bought the desktop cradle from Lee262online, and was happy with that, so I'm pretty confident it should be GR8! Also for $28USD delivered you can't go too wrong
Will post back once received and tested.

Update: Gutted
10 days after paying for the holder and waiting for it to arrive, I inquired to get conformation that it had been sent and got this reply:
We are out of stock now.
If the item is arrive , we will shipped to you immediately.
If you can not wait, we can refund to you.
Thanks.

So I replied to find out if they knew when they expect the next shipment and got exactly the same reply.
Then on Lee262online's feedback I noticed an heavily increased amount of 's and someone who ordered the same item for the Elf had commented the window sucker didn't stick and the arms snapped off.
So I opted for the refund which, in Lee's defence, did come though without a problem. So I'm not out of pocket but back to the drawing board to find a reasonably priced car cradle with charger and speaker
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...item=160180673140&_trksid=p3984.cWON.m313.lVI
I bought this one, no problem with shipping, arrived after 3 days. The speaker works great, but when using the headphone 2.5 mm jack to connect it to my car stereo (To listen to music, iPod like) the sound has no bass. Still looking for a solution. Works great as it keeps your phone charging so no battery drain from, GPS!
Quality is great, great plastics. Holds very good. No complaints at all.
eu26..it does look cool.. but at US40, like a little ex leh. I m in Singapore. tt will cost me abt S$60.. but it only ship to US only... don't think I can gt it in singapore.

Isn't lack of bass a general problem with the Trinity - there are quite a few threads on this and possible solutions IIRC.

It's garbage... I can live with it's crappy sound from the speaker, but what I can't live with is this:
* The phone thinks you're using a carkit, and thus the microphone is disabled. When answering the phone, the other party cannot hear you.
* The speaker buzzes when sms messages arrive or when you trinity is using gprs, just as you hear when you place your trinity near any speaker system.
These are major design flaws and make this thing useless.
The seller didn't bother to reply to me, as I had (mistakenly) already given him good points for the transaction on eBay. He probably figured: I've got my good score, nothing I need to do now.
HTC 3600 P3600 PDA smartphone power charger car mount
Good Morning
I am also pissed at this product. It useless if the mic is disconnected.I am told that its is done on purpose because of a safty issue.
Is there no way to overcome this issue with a software mod.How does trinity know its on a craddle? On a normal charger the mic works fine.
THanks

Strangely enough this isn't the image O2 are showing on their UK site...

Thats strange, I found the image on o2online.de the German O2 site so assumed it would be the same.
Can't say I like the look of the one showing on o2.co.uk
Come to think of it... Isn't that a Kaiser?
Ah yes, quite right. It's the XDA Stellar (Kaiser).
I wonder when they're going to run out of space-related names?

I just wish all the brand names could stick with one name for each device.
It gets more and more confusing as more devices come out.
It is certainly not the Kaiser. Look at the position of the SD Card.

The picture in DannyBoy's original post is (we think) the XDA Orbit 2 (aka Touch Cruise aka Polaris). But we are referring to the picture on O2's Coming Soon page which is a Kaiser.

The black hole is your wallet where all the money disappears on high end phones.
This seems to be the real deal. Also, looking at other pictues on the site the screen surround seems to change colour depending upon viewing angle.

Is it me or does the frame around the screen look darker (less mirror like) with comparison to the unbranded version?

I think you're right that is looks less mirror like, although it definitely looks like it has some strange reflective properties in the other shots on the review site above. The colour of the surround seems to vary from very dark to a green-grey colour depending upon the angle. I kinda like it!
I've never had a phone from O2, much less one from HTC so I was wondering if there is anything they specifically add or remove from the interface before allowing customers to buy the phone. Will all the Coverflo stuff work the same? Are they likely to hobble the phone in terms of features such as GPS and internet browsing?

The Sedna may not be interesting enough for the major audience simply because it is more of a plain business tool than the "usual" HTC cell phone/PDA gadget.
Yes, the Sedna has a fingerprint scanner and yes, the display is outdoor proof and can be used in bright sunlight. Yes, the Sedna plays video files without stuttering, even from a memory card. BUT: the Sedna is HUGE, like a PDA on steroids and the great outdoor display is horrible for watching videos since it looks somehow dull and the colors look washed-out.
To make it short: the Sedna may be a very interesting product from HTC but it can't do anything perfect and it definetely isn't usable for multimedia stuff, not even watching pictures. So why would people spend so much money for it if it is actually useless to them?!
With a better(more vivid) display and an extractable keyboard, the Sedna could have been a real hit. Right now it is probably exactly what HTC made it to be: a business tool for specialized applications.

So clean watchable video on a big but slightly dull screen or an irritating experience on a stuttering, slightly brighter smaller one. Not a no-brainer I'd have thought.
The WM6 keyboard is a real turn-off though. is there any chance that the finger-friendly keyboard from the Touch could be ported to the Sedna? (awful name incidentally).
And a question that's been asked elsewhere - can us poor schmucks who are stuck with sim-locked Sednas solve that problem by substituting the generic HTC roms that generous members have posted to the forum? Incidentally, the Orange UK rom (ver 1.10.61.2) seems to be a lot earlier than the generic one.
And my thanks to notisz! The p6500 may be a bit of a minority sport, but it does have real assets including a pretty good camera.
Oli told me that soon there will be a section for sedna and dont worry people oli managed to sim and cid unlock mine and now im using the rom i have found on wiki. Contact him and im sure he will help you. Also im using the pocket cm keyboard with iphone skin...much better
Yes!!
Yes it's clunky
Yes it's heavy
Yes it's Industrial
Yes it's Expensive
But I think it's Cool!
Just got mine two weeks ago and can't live without it
I carried a Blue Angel for almost 3 years and this is everything and more (except for the sliding keyboard I really didn't use that much)
It's a Blue Angel plus not 1 but 2 SDHC slots!
Add GPS, a 3MP camera and a sweet belt case from Piel Frama and I couldn't be happier
Not a perfect device as someone has said, but it's close!
Its by far the best htc model if you dont mind the size and NO VIDEO PROBLEMS. The only thing i miss now is a nice wm6.1 rom like those beautiful i use with my polaris.....Please Bepe and all other rom makers something for our sedna!!!

Excellent that a forum/thread is being created! I do not own the Sedna, but I saw one in the flesh today for the first time, and although large it fits in the normal mobile phone pocket of my suit. It's got better dimensions and is lighter than the Advantage, which I've also considered. It's got a five way scroll wheel. I liked it.
E-Ten have kindly loaned me a Glofiish V900 review device which isn't due out just yet, and I thought other members may want to know more about it, please see my quick hands on review on our site 4winmobile.com here .

Prices have yet to be announced, but should be competitive as E-Ten devices usually are.
Excellent stuff boz also a great review!
This will be my next phone as soon as it comes out...
Can you please tell me how good the DAB radio is?
Any idea on a release date?
Thanks!
The dab radio is part of Freeview in the UK, so all the radio stations for your region should be available and in digital stereo. Don't forget it has an FM radio also.
EDIT:- Sorry the release date should be around the end of September-ish!
Many thanks for the reply boz!
How is the camera, is it any better then Kaiser?
I look forward to its release... time to put my Kaiser on sale.
The camera is FAR superior to the Kaisers, and even has a flash. Overall, it's a far superior device, and is much much faster; but it still has a few quirks that will need sorting before they ship it to market.
The GPS is WAY more sensitive than the Kaisers' too, and even got a lock when I was in a jet last week! 37,500 feet up, 499mph! The Kaiser couldn't get a lock. TomTom does odd stuff at that speed.

Amazing! This is making me even more eager to get my hands on this device.
Any chance of capture shot?
Thanks for the answers.
Sure, here's one I took whilst doing about 20mph in a speed boat.
It took the image a LOT faster than the Kaiser does, and with no smearing at all. Probably about the best you can expect to get from a cameraphone, to be honest.
It's only slightly let down by not being able to control the compression ration of the resulting jpg files. A RAW file mode would be better.
FloatingFatMan,
That picture does look many times better then any I have ever taken with my Kaiser..
Also, the site below claims to have 32 V900's in stock for sale when we know it's not even released yet?
Do you think it's a scam?
Thanks
http://gadgetboxlimited.shopmania.biz/product.html?c=2616&p=37696
Very probably a scam, yes. I've mailed it to E-Ten just in case.
As for the camera, with the addition of the flash, it's way better than the Kaisers. It's still not perfect, and I've made a few suggestions for changes to the camera application; but it's better that what I get on my Kaiser (especially as mine has a fault and I get those 2 blue horizontal and vertical lines now ).
Once they work a few more kinks out of the review model, it'll be ready for prime time. It's a really nice phone, and remarkably light too, but don't expect it to be as amazing as something like the Omnia is.
I'm working on writing up a full review which I hope to have done soon. I've been pretty sick since getting back from vacation, my tonsils are the size of Polaris missiles right now and I'm running a fever too, but I'll finish it as soon as I can.
Thanks for that.
Can't wait for your review FloatingFatMan.
I'm not a big fan of Omnia and will never buy it. V900 offers features I really want and I also like the foam factor. I nearly brought Gigabyte T600 until this was unvailed.
I hope you get well soon!
P.S. are you in UK?
The camera is impressive I must say, I took this pic today when out riding, and it was taken on a cloudy day under trees in dappled light!
WOW! That is impressive!!
Is there any place I can buy the V900 from at all??
This site is selling some but I have a feeling they are doggy, can anyone verify if they are authentic?
http://gadgetboxlimited.shopmania.bi...c=2616&p=37696
Regards!
Yes I have seen that site but it will be a scam, and as previously mentioned the info has been passed onto E-Ten who have confirmed that no V900's have yet been officially released.
I am afraid you will have to wait for it's release in around a month from now.
Thanks boz!
I guess I will have to make do with any reviews and pictures until its released.
btw, unless I am mistaken - Gigabyte t600 (Digital TV phone) it had a function to record from TV, does the V900 have a recording function too?
With your hands on experience so far - what would you say that you are less pleased with about the v900?
Thanks

Samsung have declared that galaxy S does have a TV-OUT but i still haven't seen the TV-OUT port yet also i still haven't read that it comes with a TV-OUT cable so does anybody know if it really has a TV-OUT and how it exactly work ?
Look it in the manual, the Galaxy S does have TV Out through the 3.5mm audio jack. My old Nokia N95 also had this, although never used it. The downside is that just ouputs standard definition, so no 720p
i interested to know as was planning to use that to output to the car 2din player and display the gps on there. so far i tried the demo, there is a TV out setting that lets you choose NTSC and PAL. i think the cable should be the same as the Omina 2. anyone tired it out can let us know?
thanks.

My pleasure.... If any part of what you find comes as good advice/help then that is all that matters.
I know parents find it extremely difficult to cope in any situation with their child, that's why we must ensure they too are treated as patients.
I ordered the same one from amazon for £2, free postage and packaging. Works pretty decent, sounds a bit low, and I haven't managed to get rid of the borders, but I haven't messed around with overscan on the tv, but it should fix it.
