Does anyone know of a prog to divert calls?
I do understand that you can set up one divert profile with the operator, but being awkward I would like to set up more than one.
Don't know if there is a utility out there to do this.
Any help greatly appreciated.

You mean as in to forward your calls? Go to Start>>Settings>>Phone>>Services Tab>>Click "Call Forwarding" then "Get Settings" Button and adjust from there.
EDIT: You want to be able to change this easily using "profiles"? A option would be to use a marcro recorder or a script editor and give each macro/script/profile its own icon, so that when you click it it does the above. I used the program MacroRecorder when I had a smarphone, it may work on our OS too, I'm not sure. You could also download MortScripts if you'd prefert to write a script.

You have got the idea exactly, got a new car with a "stupid" car kit built in.
The car kit takes a sim card... never heard of bluetooth!!!!!
O2 say they don't (and never have) offered a "dual sim" option. I was hoping to switch the phone off when I got in the car.
So the next idea is to put a pay as you go sim in the car kit and diver all calls from the main number to the car kit.
I already have a divert set up when I cannot take a call, and being lazy I suppose would love a little utility that swaps the divert between the two numbers.
Probably not upto writing scripts or macro as i don't want to mess up my phone

Not a tool but....you may check out *# codes (aka "GSM codes"), compose the one you need and create a phonebook entry. To run the network service you may put this entry to a speed dial button and activate it manually when you enter the car. Means you run a call to this "number". That's how I forward all calls from my private phone to my company phone: in the morning: call **21*mynumber# and to switch forwarding off in the evening: call #21#. Works pretty good.

btw: you will most likely be charged for call forwarding between different providers. At least in Germany they do it.
The coolest thing for you would be T-Mobile-like "Multi-SIM". IMHO the best Multi-SIM implementation ever as you can leave both phones switched on and none of them is kicked out of the network. They just ring both and both present the same number to the far end.
It's a shame that O2 doesn't offer something like this...
Luckily O2 offer unlimited O2 to O2 calls so with luck the divert will be included.

There is also a program "PhoneAlarm" which can be used to divert calls. You can feed 4 or 5 numbers to which you would like your calls to be diverted. From the Today Screen Plug-In of phonealarm you just need to press and hold and you would be presented with a list of numbers to select the one you currently want the calls to be diverted to.

Im sure most of you seasoned veterans know this, but for anyone new who is suffering from Vodaphone's paltry 15 second window to answer your phone before voicemail kicks in, this might be useful.
Start -> settings -> tap on the phone button -> tap on the services tab at the bottom -> choose Call forwarding / Call divert (dependant on rom) ->Tap on the big grey "get settings" button -> wait for it to obtain your current settings from the network -> change the relevant option "forward after XX seconds"
AFAIK the max is 30 seconds, so there is no point having a ringtone that is longer than 30 secs,

Yeah, it's in 5 second increments from 5 to 30 on all phones I believe. Always a good thing to know.

Just be aware that by doing this, you are overriding the network vodafone mail settings which automatically handles the call divert - not your phone. By making the changes described above, your phone will now divert the call and therefore you will be charged for the divert (minuites will be taken from your inclusive allowance if you have any.)
The option is not available on Sprint.
I believe this small window can be attributed to the slot cycle index. That is the delay amount before the phone rings one caller has connected. you need the MSl to change it. It's under MODEM or CDMA settings under ##778#. This has been covered many times here and ppcgeeks...

Im not normally so direct in my statements, but im sorry you are talking complete and utter nonsense, the handset never handles call divert to voice mail, it is ALWAYS handled by the network, when you change it to 30 seconds you are signalling a change to the network, there is no additional cost incurred unless you live in one of those lame countries where telco's charge you for the time that your phone is ringing, in which case the person calling you will have a bigger bill.

I suppose it's because I am from gsm-land and not cdma-land but I have no idea what you are talking about... besides the thread is about the time between the call being connected and its diversion to voicemail, not the time the phone needs to start ringing.

This option is not available on the Sprint version. Maybe I don't need this adjustment. Not sure yet, just got the phone today.

I saw this too, but it always times out when attempting to save the new settings to the network. On any ROM. AT&T Fuze.
Does not work with Rogers in Canada. Rogers network has a hard setting which cannot be changed for neither love nor money
This is only for GSM phones, it won't work with CDMA phones.

I've got the Fuze and was interested in Visual Voicemail. I've used Youmail and get the sms and email, but I saw this post about visual voicemail on the G1. I looked and they also support windows mobile 5 and 6.
The 2nd link is the company's main page and looks like they offer pay services as well, but the free visual voicemail works as far as I have been able to tell in testing it. It has a separate .cab to install and then change the settings in your fuze for forwarding and the voicemails come up in the program in a list and can be played as mp3.
Only issue I have on this is that they play over the speaker. Plug in headphones and you get privacy, but when I'm on a plane or in an airport I'd rather just hit play and listen on the earpiece on the headset for privacy. If anyone has any suggestions on playing mp3's through media player over the built in headset I'd be interested in the suggestion. Otherwise, this does everything I've seen on the iphone.
You may want to install on your storage card, then your vmails are stored there as well so as to not take up internal storage.

I'm using YouMail right now, how does it compare to that? One feature I like about YouMail is that it will tell me the city, carrier and even the name of the person and/or business that called if available.

on the app the comes up when you get a new vm, it has the date, time and how many seconds the message is, the caller id number and the number it was forwarded from (assuming this is so that you can identify if it was forwarded from cell or office or other?
You don't see the txt that comes in, this is the only information you get, so if carrier and city matter it may not be good for you. I travel and it's great to turn on the phone between flights and my vmails download, then when I'm on my next flight I can listen to them when I want.
So the free services you listed aren't actually visual voicemail, but simply mp3 conversion services?
tried this a while back with sprint. turns out they charge 20 cents a minute for forwarded calls.
With AT&T, it just deducts from your minutes.

1. not sure your definition of visual voicemail. If you're thinking transcribe to text, no it does not do this, and I don't want that because I haven't found a service that works well, and having an announcement telling someone calling me to speak clearly doesn't help.
This service puts your voicemail into an mp3, but it doesn't email it, there is a single app that comes up and they are listed in order with information and if you click it you can listen without being connected to the network. If that isn't visual voicemail then I completely didn't understand what the iphone is doing, because it looks like the same to me and that is called visual voicemail. (by the way, I only listed one service that I found, there are different sites with information about the free service and application, they just introduced an Android version as well)
2. I saw in the directions there is some more specific instructions on Sprint. If you forward a certain way there is a .20 charge, but if you follow their directions correctly there isn't this charge.
3. It looks like this service sends a txt msg to get information to the program, so you need txting and if you're limited this may not be good for you.
4. The time your caller is leaving a message it looks like it does go against your minutes.

Below in the FAQ is a question on Sprint, which is CDMA. It's saying you have to contact the CDMA carrier to have them change it on the network, and I beleive Rogers is still CDMA as well. May be worth a call to tech support and ask if you want an app like this, for me it's worth it. The 813 number is in Florida, and that's where your calls will be forwarded to, so make sure you can call there cheap.
When you call up Sprint, the first thing to do is ask for Tech Support right away. They are the only ones who can set up the correct forwarding - Customer Service can’t. Ask the Tech Support representative to change the "Call Forward/Busy" and "Call Forward/No Answer" fields (NOT Unconditional Call Forwarding) to the Fusion Voicemail Plus number - 813-200-0200. The Tech Support representative will authorize and activate the feature. There is no additional charge for this service, unlike regular unconditional call forwarding which charges $0.20 per usage.
no rogers is GSM
has anyone had a problem where when you install it never goes through setup. I had to resend the test message to myself and even then I just got that voicemail no others.
I have been looking the forums and the web for a way to increase the time my phone rings before my voicemail picks up. I have found things that work for other carriers, but I don't know it works with sprint. The method I have found is to dial **61*voicemailnumber**N# where N is the length in seconds (max 30) that the phone rings for before the voicemail picks up.
The two issue with this are A) I don't know how to find my voicemail number. I looked in HKEY Current Users -> Software -> Microsoft -> Vmail and then under phoneumber1 and 2, but the values were blank. And B) I tried the above method with my phone number as the voicemail number, and my phone made a couple wierd beeps, and then ended the call. Then I recieved a text message that the code I dialed is either inactive or not in service.
I called tech support and of course they were clueless lol So does anyone know anything?
I just called AT&T and I asked for my ring time to be longer. So they made it 30 seconds. As before it was only 20 seconds. I would love to know if I can make my ringt time even longer.
You know I have often thought about this as well. I also have Sprint and would like to have more than 10 seconds to answer.

Your own phone number is your voice mail number. Also, you can push and hold the 1 key and it will go to your voicemail and from there you can go to personal options...BUT, alas...no way to do it there...dangit! I called Sprint and was told that they cannot change the ring cycle. (as it is referred to as) They suggested that I change to a ringer that is longer. I know that there are ringers in the stock ROM that are longer but I don't recall there being one to suit my taste. Maybe there is for you though. What I am going do is to try to find an MP3 ringer that is longer and to my liking and then save it to the "My Ringtones" folder located in "My Documents". From there I can set it as my ringtone. Hopefully that will work.

Classic case of Stupid Customer Care Representative! Selecting a longer ringtone will not increase the length of the ring. What that is saying, is that I could put together a medley ringtone that lasts 30 minutes and that is how long my phone will ring for. WRONG. call back and get another rep.

Just a bump wondering if anyone found a workaround for this. Drives me nuts. I guess there's nothing to be done, it's 100% on sprint's end. I posted something in their customer forums about it. Other people have asked and the answer is always the same. On the iden network you can. On CDMA, you can't. Maybe if they get enough posts in the forum...

I dont think it is possible on CDMA either. You can setup Missed call reminder to play a song
Hello all Xda'ers,
First of all, I am deaf and I was put on a special data plan that is customized for the hard of hearing and deaf subscribers. When I first got my NS4G, I got that voicemail icon as soon as I walked out of Sprint store. I should have went back to talk to the rep but I was late for work.
With that said, since May 8th, I still have that icon and I have been looking for solutions to remove it. I have searched this site as well as other sites for any remedies but with no avail. I do have Google Voice and have had GV set to use my current phone number so the voicemail can be ported over then I disabled GV after 20 minutes and the voicemail icon is STILL THERE!!!
I even tried Youmail and my heart jumped when it said I had one voicemail message and I was like YES! but then it was the youmail voicemail, probably greeting and congratulating me for installing youmail on my phone, because I saw what the message was and deleted it, but nope, VM icon is still there...
I have read somewhere, where you power down the phone, take the battery out for 30 seconds then put it back and power back on and it should be gone. Well, I did that and even waited 5 minutes and as soon as my homescreen came up, bam! voicemail icon appears. I told my Sprint rep that I can't remove it and he said something that struck me as odd. He said the NS4G has a visual voicemail and I should be able to remove it with no problem. I searched everywhere on the phone and couldn't find it. He said he got the same phone, even bought it right after selling me and my wife the phones. I emailed back and haven't heard from him since so...
I really don't want to put a ROM on this phone, probably because I have been putting it off since but other than putting a ROM on my phone, is there a solution to finally get that VM icon off?
Oh, to add, I have had my hearing friend call my voicemail for me, but he said that the automated response was something like, "This is no longer in service, the number you are trying to dial does not exist" or something like that, but he was NOT able to access my voicemail at all.
Sorry if this has been resolved elsewhere, but I had searched everywhere on this forum as well as all over the Internet as you can tell, it took me since May 8th to finally give up and post this on Xda, but why? You all are awesome!
I'm having this problem too ever since we got my wife the mytouch 4g slide. The CSR told me that I needed a new sim card. We put it in my NS and there is the icon.
I'm currently trying to put it back on T-Mobile voicemail service and calling my line from my work cell. It went to my GVoice so far so I guess I need to leave it for longer.

Since you are on Sprint I may have a solution. I also have this happen once in a while. After spending much time on the phone with Sprint here is their solution. Go to a land line phone and call your cell. Let it go to voice mail, give it a couple of minutes. Now on your cell go to your voice mail. You should have the message you left yourself. Listen to it all the way through and only press "7" to delete the message after the system prompts you to. After deleting the message hang up. The voice mail notification should disappear. This is a known Sprint problem, according to Sprint. If this doesn't work, take your phone to a Sprint repair center.

I just re-read your post. If your problem is the same as mine, you may have to have a hearing friend do this. I am not sure what Sprint may have installed on your phone to make it more usable for you.
