Is there a god notepad/file editor? - Non-Touchscreen Windows Mobile Other

As in the subject... wich is the best file editor for WM6 smartphone?
I'd like to install a generic file editor like "notepad"...

The best I've seen is WordPad from veika.com

I quite like this one, but I haven't been able to make an explorer app "open with" this. It always opens a blank document.
Also, is there a way to edit the forms/templates?

Which Reg. Editor to use?

Hello all,
currently I'm using PHM Registry Editor Version 0.70 (seems to be the most current). I am curious to know which reg. editors you are using and why? IS there a better reg. editor than the PHM offering? Looking forward to your responses.
Regards,
idyllic
i use resco regeditor.. just because it has better interface..
PapaDocta, thank you for your response! Apparently you're the only person here that uses a reg. editor Regards, Idyllic
lool maybe and you are welcome
I use Resco also. It's not free, but IMO it's worth the price.
Total commander
Task Manager also has a regeditor that is interesting in that you can associate REG files with it for doubleclick merge. I don't use it though since I have experienced strange behavior with large custom REG files.
All,
Thank you for your responses! The reason I had asked the reg. question stems from some frustration getting reg. changes to stick between soft resets using the PHM editor. Perseverence paid off, but I thought there had to be an easier way, hence the reg. question. I did try the RESCO editor and found it quite useful, but the delta between cost and quirkiness has kept me with the PHM version. If I get deeper into "tweaking" my 750 I'll prolly re-enlist the RESCO offering.

I with you. PHM works fine for any registry edits I need to make and it's free.
+1 for Total Commander

It has probably more to do with your own findings
There are multipe freeware registry editors that are more than capable for your purpose.. ..TotalCommander and TaskManager (mentioned in previous posts) are very good programs!
OK, so the final choice came down to ease of use and I've settled on the PHM version. However, I've found task commander to be quite useful although I think its reg. editor is harder to use (IMHO). Between Task Commander and PHM Regedit I'm now very happy (boy am I easily amused )

Do you mean TotalCommander or TaskManager?

OOPSY! TaskManager all the way! I guess I'm immune to fat-fingering the keyboard...
Cheers

Hi
If you want to edit your registry from your PC (windows based), you can try ceregeditor : http://ceregeditor.mdsoft.pl/
I must say it is quite nice app And is free
Ya know I looked at ceregeditor, but since I use MAC for everything (except gaming) it wasn't going to work for me. I suppose I could have run it in a virtual machine, but that has its draw-backs too. I'm glad it works for you!

Help please!

I'm missing the following files for my Shadow. Can anyone help?
T9ImeCustom2.Bmp
eT9MyWords.exe
eT9Dictionary.dll
XT9Menu.dll
eT9.hpd.9Keys.English.kdb
eT9.HQD.kdb

Here are the xT9 files for the Shadow.
Check the email address that you gave it is no good, I tried to send them to you five times.
The files below are not for the Shadow.
eT9.hpd.9Keys.English.kdb
eT9.HQD.kdb
Thank you!
BTW - I suspect the problem is that two of the files are .EXEs and as I just remembered, Google doesn't accept files with .EXE as attachments or in ZIP files.

Good Freeware Registry Editor?

Can anyone recommend a good free registry editor to a noobie for the Leo please?
I want to get tinkering... finally ... and I'm broke.
Thanks for your help in advance
Total Commander ?
Few in one, including reg editor, and for free.

and languages - http://www.ghisler.com/celang.htm
Two option for me:
On device = FDC (dot freds) task manager because you can jump between hlkm and same key in HKCU easily (as well as use it as a full featured task man)
but I prefer to use Mdsoft.pl Ceregeditor from desktop Pc through activesync/WMDC it's so simple and effective that the others are pointless.

http://www.dotfred.net/TaskMgr.htm
CeRegEditor via activesync. i guess it's the easier and the best of free ones.
Thanks all!!
PHM RegEdit it good too. Nice and simple.

where is hkcu?

hi, i recently bought a lg gm730.
there are a few areas that i want to modify in my phone.
but in the coding that i see, it normally starts with HKCU.
im wondering where is that located, so i can successfully modify my phone.
im sorry if my description isn't very good, but i'll appreciate any help
thank you.
HKCU = HKEY_CURRENT_USER it's in the registry you can use a registry editor for the task.
Schap's Registry Editor
PHM Registry Editor
My personal favorite:
CeRegEditor as you can edit via compauter
ohh. thankyou, will go try it now ^^
That's cool
Just thought i'd point you to REG editing guide starts from bottom of that page.

help with g sensor on spb mobile shell 3.5

ok i read this
HTML:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4643107&postcount=121
but how exactly do i get there? programs/ SPB mobile shell but after that what do i have to open to edit? is it an xml file or dat?
these are actually registry edits. tons of information and settings for your phone are stored in the registry. in order to make these mods, you would need to use a registry editor. phm registry editor is a good free program. just google it.
