Hi guys I hope someone can help. I'm using nncuong UNI 2.11.11 5.2.1933 (Build 18533.0.7.1) with 1.18 radio and a blank ext and fresh out of the box it was great aside from one problem.
Both in IE and in the pda (settings page, in the backlight setting dialogue etc) some text is 'hidden' like I need to scroll down, but I can't. I went and made the font size smaller in settings (and in IE) but it doesn't help. It's as though sometimes stuff doesn't quite 'fit' and I can't read the last bit of info in a dialogue box etc.
I can't see anywhere to switch resolution, I saw something that indicated it was at 640 but I can't remember where. Also sometimes I want to scroll to the right in IE as I can't see the right side of the page, but there is no scroll bar. Only sometimes.
Last issue is that the battery monitor icon was there when I booted up but it's vanished and I don't know how to get it back.
Can anyone help? Other than this I think it's okay.
Greg.

I have a little problem regarding the size of the desktop / Today screen on my PDA (Wizard @ WM6).
When I connect my PDA to my PC with AS, additional icon appears in the tray (even though I removed init_tray.lnk) - but that's not the problem itself.
The problem is that additional sliding bar appears on the right side of the screen. The Today plugins do not fit the Desktop anymore, so all the contents of Today is "squezzed" and moved a little bit to the left to make space for the sliding bar.
When I disconnect, the icon & additional bar disappear but the Today items do not go back to fill the whole screen, but keep "squeezed" :O I haven't managed to find any option to refresh Today screen in order to make it filled with the plugins again.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this, please?
Its a long shot, but if you were to go to Settings->Today-> Items, and click on ok (without doing much there), most of the plugins will refresh.
You could try this.....

That would almost certainly work - if you fancy a few less taps to achieve the same result, then there is a program that should (not tested it myself, so not 100% sure!) do the job for you.
Get it from http://www.shubaroo.com/index.php?module=refresh_today - the author, t0flus, is an xda-devs member (his Group SMS app is posted on one of the forums), so he may be able to offer assistance if needed.
I'm guessing all you'd need to do is to copy the exe onto your phone and stick a shortcut to it in your programs menu.
Cheers,
Mark.
I have the same problem on mine and all I do is slide the keyboard out about halfway so it changes the screen to landscape and then slide it back in and everything goes back to the way it was before. No software needed.
I've just received a new Vox and am trying out Goodlink on it. It doesn't seem to suit the phone very well!
I've been using a Hermes and really like the Vox's form factor when compared to it. However, I was thinking that the screens would be similar as they both have the same resolution (240x320), but the fonts are much larger on the Vox and much less info is displayed.
So Goodlink displays fewer lines than on the Hermes' display and there's some weird corruption at the bottom of every screen. Also, in some of the preferences screens, I can't work out how to save anything as the OK button is obscured by the battery and signal strength indicators.
Lastly there are no shortcuts to the Goodlink applications on the home screen or in the Programs folder. The only way to start it is via File Explorer.
Anyone had more luck than me?
Ok I realised what I had done....I restored my Goodlink install from my Hermes, so had the wrong version installed! Oops
Anyway, it all seems to work well now
hi there!
I downloaded JUVS HTC Large Titlebar and HTC Enlarge Start menu CABs and installed both on my E-TEN M800 (VGA).
They installed fine and I now have the "large start menu" item in my system settings.
But when I check the checkbox to turn it on, it still doesnt enlarge.
I rebooted the device and still nothing. I basically only need the zooming of the notification icons in the start-bar.
have I missed something? do i need additional files?
thanks
Bernhard
the old one just for QVGA, try this one, but dun know can it work on ETEN
thanks, but it doesn't work.
maybe it needs touchFLO so its only activated when you use the finger? or something like that?
No touchflow wouldnt make a difference on this. Unfortunatly some of the items on here will only work with HTC devices and i think this may well be one of them im afraid. Unless anyone else can shed any light
Tried the Large Start Menu once on my iPAQ, and what I found was that the service (htcStartMenuService.dll) doesn't automatically start. Using DotFred's Taskmanager to manually start the service made the large start menu appear... until the next soft reset.
The same thing probably happens with the large titlebar thing.
thanks ridolfo, this works!
now i have to find a way to start it automatically on reboot
makes my e-ten even more userfriendly!
edit: i just added this nice and useful taskmanager to my StartMenu and on reboot, i open it, go to the services tab and click the little start icon for the LargeTitleBar service. thats it.
works like a charm.
IIRC, you can even open it on the services tab, using a command-line switch. Have a look in the "About" screen for possible command-line switches (I think it's in the "About" screen, but I'm not sure).
I'm still hoping that someone can explain why some of the HTC services do auto-start, but others don't.
yes, because when you install the LargeTitleBar it correctly creates its entry in the Registry and is bound to be started, but somehow it doesnt.
In my brand new HTC Touch Cruise, large menu option is ticked, but after playing around with apps or settings it becomes small, allthough it's still ticked. I have to disable and reenable it to make it big again. It's a bit of a problem, as it happens often. Advice would be appreciated.
same problem
couldn't this problem be fixed by some registry entires ?
I mean to put an application into autostart shouldn't be a problem, well for me, as a hardcore newp it is acutally, but maybe not fo you guys
on my xperia x1 i've got the same problem .

Hi! at all!
Have you found a solution?
Hi,
Ever since I have been using jbed (for opera mini or for gmail apps), I have run into the same very annoying problem that is : data input field doesn't have scroll bars.
So basically, any time I write an email or anything long enough to fill up the empty area from the top of the screen to my SIP Keyboard, at the time the text reaches the keyboard, no scroll bar appears and I find myself writing a blind email. I have to keep hiding and putting back my SIP to check if what I am writing is ok. This is very annoying and doesn't happen in other applications like the Note taking one for instance.
Do you have any idea on how to get those scrollbars? (more basically, to reduce the size of the text input area to the visible area) I don't know if the problem comes from Jbed or from my SIP (none of the SIP I have show me scrollbars... see what I mean...) but it would be a great improvement to be able to see what you write from the beginning ... to the end...
Thanks in advance for your help!
Anyone has the same problem? Is not showing scrollbars in text input fields a regular behavior for Jbed? Is there anything to do?
Please, feedback me on that issue, even if there is nothing to do to fix that.
Hy, everyone,
i set up my tp for new & now i have a bar (very fine white line) on my today screen, from which i dont know where it comes from, but im sure i ve made it by playing around with a tool prog. the bar changes the wideness, ie the right position differs sometimes, i think it could be a bar showing the quality of the signal strengh from the phone... (see attached file)
Anyone knows from where this mysterical line comes?? ;-)
Thanx for your time & thinking, sorry for my bad english

Does that bar get bigger when you charge the battery and smaller when you don't?
No, the changing doesnt depend on charging: That does the upper bat from batti... (upper end of screen)

Sometimes you can figure out weird stuff like that with dotfred's task manager. If it's a real thing and not a glitch, it's probably a shell32 window. Long press on shell32, select details, then go to the windows tab. Start long-pressing on the windows, select "highlight," or "show" then "highlight." Sooner or later, that thing may pop up, lol.
If it's not in shell32, then maybe it's in GWES or device.exe or some weird process you have running all the time (like whitebar.exe).
BINGO!!!
the first app i tried to kill with the taskmanager was qwertymemory.exe and... the bar is gone... great, your the man!
the next thing is to find out how to deinstall this app, cause i didnt find an installed app that is responsible for loading this qwertymemory.exe...
Thx a lot...

Check your startup folder; you may at least be able to keep it from running after a reset.
Found it: its not startet in the startup Folder, but in the registry: Here i found some Progs that have been startet without an entry in the startup folder:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\BootLauncher
Maybe this "startup-registry entry" usefull for anyone...
