Hey All,
Doing some hacking here...
My company only supports Verizon phones connecting to out Intellisync environment for access to our Exchange environment. Well I'm a Cingular user and don't want to switch. I've gotten a co-worker to grab the Verizon Wireless Sync software from the Verizon web page (rebranded Intellisync product) for me but it's only the WM2003 version. This version does actually work well, but I'm looking for WM5 perfection!
For all their WM5 phones the web site says "included in your phone" so what I was hoping for is that some nice soul with either a Samsung i830 (I know wrong forum) or a xv6700 (Apache) might be able to extract out the Wireless Sync CAB file and post it or shoot me a link or PM.
If not does anybody know where to get the latest WM5 version of Verizon's Wireless Sync product or maybe the Intellisync counterpart?
Any help appreciated - there's got to be more than one way to skin a corporate email system.
Thanks,
-JMS
You can find it here...
I posted the cab installer in the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=43555
It will give you what you need - and is the full client, not the cripled one VZW offers. Use it on my 8125 and other WM5 devices...even those that talk to the VZW wireless sync server.
If you have the VZW client installed you should uninstall before installing this one.
Regards - John
Wow, once again the folks on this board are awesome.
Thanks so much, I'll give it a whirl, I really appreciate the help!

Hey chybinj,
That worked beautifully, much smaller and better designed for WM5 than that older sync client I had.
Thanks again for your quick help.

My pleasure...glad to help - I know my head hurt from all the whacks on my desk casued by previous versions.
If I get a newer version I will repost...may get an upgrade our server in a few weeks.
Regards - John
If you have one, can I get a copy of the cab you use to update your WAP settings for your individual carrier? I already have the Cingular one, but others like T-Mobile and such.
I'm working on an extended rom building tool, and need some "sample" setups to work with.

Whats the status of this? I'm eager to get this app.
There are links in the 2nd post of Crossbow Reloaded 1.5 and 1.7 that have a list of GPRS/MMS setups for various places. May help you out some.

thanks mfrazzz - I hadn't noticed that! I'm still stalled on the true definition of the extended ROM vs the 'psudo' extended rom and how they utilize ROM space. I took a few days off and want to get this nailed down.
Thanks again!
Faria's Operator Config software
Hi all,
This is exactly the software I was talking about in post #3 of the post install script thread...
As Faria is going to be unavailable on the forums for a while, I've taken the liberty of PM'ing Dr Puttingham to see if we need (and ask for) Faria's permission to use his operator config wizardry...
If Faria will let us use his stuff, I've already extracted the relevant Extended ROM and have to say, it's really rather clever.
I have an error about not signed with a trusted certificate, when i run the .cab with the greek operators. Is there any solution?
Sorry for the oftopic
Are you trying to run the operator config CAB from a running PPC, or from the Extended ROM after a flash? Whichever, you might find that running this first helps... (or it might not)

I'm SMS'ing Jose now. I don't imagine that he would mind being that you asked and I know you'll give credit where credit is due.
I'll keep you updated!
Appreciate you guys driving forward on this. I'm raking in the knowledge as fast as I can (while working anyway ) and it really looks like this is going somewhere great!

This is what I was looking for initially. Thanks for your help and going to the source.
anyone have the old AT&T? like.. att b4 cingular?
-Nstefanelli-
@Dr Puttingham (and Faria of course) - thanks very much and I'll wait to hear...
@Shawner - you're welcome
Ok my boss has a T-Mobile Wing and I have the 8125. We both have Wm6 but I have found that GoodLink doesn't seem to work under Wm6. Is there a registry entry I can change to trick GL into thinking I am running WM5 or are we stuck till GL gets around to releasing a WM6 version of their software?
See this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=300115
But basically you need to get a valid install of it on WM5, and then back it up. Then you can restore it on WM6 and use it (with some limited functionality). I've never used the software, just remember others talking about getting it to work on WM6. Do a google search for goodlink xda and you will find references in other forums too.
10-4 thanks mfrazzz

Install the following cab and your PTT will work on any cooked 6.1 ROM. Also do some more reading... This one is a FreeeeeeBeeeeeee.
Freebie received.
Thread Closed pursuant to the guidelines set forth in the Kaiser Section Announcement and the Forum Policies.
Does anyone know how to enable threaded email (Conversation Email option) option in pocket Outlook of Sprint Lovers ROM (CE OS 5.2.28232 (Build 28232.5.3.3)). This is a feature that is available in wm6.5.3. If anyone knows of any ROM that has this added features for Sprint TP2, please let me know.
I am doing push email using TP2's ActiveSync with my Gmail account. Furthermore, I went to the registry and searched for the word "conversation". There is one DWord that has it, but conversation mode does not appear in my pocket email. Here is the reg key:
[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\ActiveSync]
"ConversationMode"=dword:1
Thanks for your help.
It's either cooked in or it isn't. Any ROM running build 235xx is going to have it. It's a part of the SYS build itself. It's not an app that you can add in. Ask your chef about it. So far you can only get threaded email in 6.5.3 builds. If you're looking for it in 6.5, then you're out of luck.
What you are looking for is quite probably in this thread:

There is a cab in the first post that folks are having mixed results with. The last post in the thread includes the files from 23569.
Best regards,

I seriously doubt that's going to work. I'm not saying it won't, but judging by the feedback on the thread, it doesn't look like it's working for most people.
