under WM6, treo loads the start menu before storage card, therefore the programs, that are installed on sd card, on the start menu dont get their icons right, until forece them I reload. Can I change the delay before which storage card is loaded under any wm6 settings???

I'm using WM6 (mUn), and I'd like to store my e-mail on my SD Card. But the card takes too long to mount, so when Cingular 8125 boots up, it creates a new "Storage Card" folder to put the mail in, and mounts my actual Storage Card as "Storage Card2"...
If I remove the "PropertyPath" value in the Registry, it mounts my card normally, but my e-mail (poutlook.exe) is placed in "Windows\Messaging" on the main memory. This seriousl limits the amount of mail I can have in poutlook. (I am storing attachments on the SD card - but that is insufficient for what I need.)
I know that the problem is related to order things happen at boot time (and after a power-on restart), but is there a solution to this _ANNOYING_ design flaw from Microsoft?
Is there any way to talk to Microsoft about this issue - clearly any other "computer" mounts it's storage devices before it starts looking for places to store things. Why does Windows Mobile (all versions) choose to do this in such a retarded way?

Ummm...have you renamed the new folder it creates to storage card.bak, then reboot and put your card back in and see if it stops doing that.
This is a common problem on the Tmobile Wizard I am using, that solved my problem.
But, it stopped doing that since I went to Xplore rom. Also, remove messagin from the today screen, it might be what is also causing it.
Good luck.
hi all i have an HTC S730 with WM6. i installed a 6 gig microsd card and installed the surrealnetworks IE cache cab which is supposed to put the cache for IE on the memory card as oppsoed to the on board memory. ever since then, IE hangs on a regular basis and i need to remove the battery in order to reboot the phone as nothing will respond. i want to see if it is the card cacheing that has caused this problem. anyway to und that? what is the regstry that i need to edit and to what setting so that the IE cache and settings go back to default? thanks
I have "HTC Touch Cruise", on "Windows Mobile 6". There is card memory within, microSDHC Kingston 4 GB Class4. It works fine, but yesterday...
I decided to uninstall profile manager (CommMgrPro) yesterday by standard Uninstall procedure. It was uninstalled without any problems. After that, I made a Soft reboot. After rebooting, I face the following two problems:
1) (minor problem) Menu Start->Settings had 3 tabs: "Private", "System", "Connections". Each tab had shortcuts before, but now almost all shortcuts are in only one tab - "System"
2) (major problem) Memory Card disappeared. That is, it is not seen in my PDA by any means or tools. But the card is good, I checked it on another device (external card reader for laptop). I even formatted that cardr (FAT32), but it doesnot help. HTC does not see card. I have no card in my HTC's file explorers. Card was named SDcard by laptop. I didn't try Hard Reset, but I do not want to do it, because I had a lot of settings already done on my PC.
PS I just noticed, that there is no "HKEY_LOCKAL_MACHINE\System\Storage Manager\Profiles\" key in my HTC's registry. May be, it is the root of propblem?
problem with microsd
I have the same problem with sd card ...I made hard reset, but htc cant search my card....
I made hard reset too and it solved the problem
Now I am doing full backups always
Howdy all,
I was adding a few themes to my phone, using Activesync to copy them to my 2gb storage card, which is about 30% full with music / apps / video / etc... I was looking through my themes (all on storage card) with Activesync connected and -poof- storage card vanished. I reset my phone and I get this message "Do you want to format this storage card to make it readable? this will permanently delete any files on the card." Of course I click "No"
Any ideas on fixing the storage card --what might be wrong? Any apps to help with this?
This is major problem number three with my phone --and all three problems (all three data loss) have been directly caused by Activesync...
Is there an alternative to Activesync --I am absolutely done with Microsoft.
Tmobile Wing
Windows Mobile 6.0
Try to insert it into your Computer and rightclick at properties on your Card. Ther you can click on something like "scan for errors" This should fix the problems!

Hi, I unmount and remove my microSD card from my Core 2 every time I wanna transfer files so I can use the USB adapter, which is way faster (I don't know why), and I'm tired of going to settings, scrolling down, SD card...
Is it possible to add a shortcut or activity to the home screen so when you tap on it, the microSD card gets unmounted?
I've been searching in settings activities through shortcut menu, but I don't see any "card unmount" function.
