What api decide whether connect to internet? - General Topics

hi,ALL.
I have two ppc,A and B, A create a bluetooth PAN access point,B connect to A(especial reason,only B connect to A,not A connect to B).B have two network adapter,And B use NAT service.
A ip 192.168.0.1
mask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.0.2
B ip 192.168.0.2
mask 255.255.255.0
gateway none
WiFi ip 192.168.1.2
mask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.1.1 (This interface connect to internet)
Now, On A ppc,a few tool app can connect to internet, but PIE can't connect to internet,I think PIE use ConnMgrConnectionStatus api check status. What api can resolve this problem?

Specifying DNS Servers for WiFi Connection

Hi Folks,
I have set up my wife's SPV E650 to hook up to our wireless network at home so she can connect to the internet through the home wireless network. We have static IP's on our LAN. Although I have specified a static IP for the E650's wireless connection, I cannot find out where I specify the DNS servers to allow her to connect to the internet via our ISP, (I know the DNS server IPs, I just can't find out where I enter that info on the E650). So at the moment, I can connect to the home network, but cannot get onto t'internet!
It is quite likely that I am being a spaz and am missing something obvious... regardless, if you can help me, let me know!
Cheers
MW
even if you have a static IP you should not have to specify a static DNS because your default gateway should be your router IP address and your router should automatically give the DNS servers to any device that pulls that ip address

Thanks for your response.
All the other devices on my home network (laptop, PC, Xbox 360, SPV M3100) ask for the DNS server to be specified in a static IP environment, and they all connect to the internet just fine through the wireless network.
I am sure you are right, but I know that none of the above mentioned devices connect to the internet without the DNS servers specified.
So, question remains, how do I specify the DNS servers on the E650? Maybe a registry entry?
@mortalwombat,
i have the same problem with my htc s710.
Even though I run the wireless network with static IPs, I set my HTC S710 to get the IP "from a server" (= dynamic IP setting).
I did this after I tried with an IP Adress within my IP Adress Range.
So what happened is that my S710 somehow gets an IP Adress from my router that is almost in my regular IP Range.
You can try to set an static IP Adress within your Range first and then switch to dynamic IP Adress on you device..

WiFi hotspot connection to Xbox360

I've been trying for hours to get this to work. What's happening is I turn on my hotspot via a 3rd party app. My Xbox picks it up but once I try to connect it says "IP ADDRESS ERROR" as if to say that my Xbox isn't picking up my phone's ip automatically it reads:
IP Address: 0.0.0.0
Subnet Mask: 0.0.0.0
Gateway: 0.0.0.0
On my Xbox..
Does any one know the manual settings to get this to work?

Wifi connected but no Internet

Hey I've a little problem and I'm almost thinking my device might be damaged.
I bought a tablet (blaupunkt polaris 803-android 4.4.2) and as mentioned above i can get access to my router but it won't let me download/upload anything.
When trying to connect to an open hot spot (my phone) I'll have the same problem.
I downloaded the app network signal info and it says following:
Ip : 192.168.0.1
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
Dhcp-server: 192.168.0.1
DNS1: 192.168.0.1
DNS2: 0.0.0.0
DHCP lease 168.00.00 (hh:mm:ss)
External ip: can not get external ip
I guess the last line might be the problem but I got no idea what to do...
All other devices (2 notebooks and 3 android phones can connect without problem to the router)
Hope someone can help?

routing difference between linux and Android (Lollipop)

I'm trying to set up a lollipop-TV-box with wlan and lan adapter as a router the way I did it with a Linux-box, but it doesn't work
I tried it the Linux-way on a linux-Machine with a shell-script. The wlan-net is 192.168.0.x the lan is 192.168.1.x. The wlan-ip in the Android/Linux router is 192.168.0.13 the lan in the same device is 192.168.1.2, the connected lan-client-ip is 192.168.2.4
the routing is Internet-(Wifi)-Gateway 192.168.0.1->Android/Linux-Box 192.168.0.13/192.168.1.2->192.168.2.4 and vice-versa
on lan-client:
ip route:
default via 192.168.1.2 dev eth0 proto static metric 1024
192.168.1.0/24 dev eth0 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.1.4
on Android/Linux-Router
192.168.0.0/24 dev wlan0 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.0.13 metric 600
192.168.1.0/24 dev eth0 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.1.2 metric 100
I also enabled forwarding and set the forward-tables with iptables
With the Linux-Box as a router everything works like a charm, with Android not, when I ping the lan-ip of the client from the Android box (ping 192.168.1.4) the reply is network unreachable from the external internet-server
PING 192.168.1.4 (192.168.1.4) 56(84) bytes of data.
From 84.116.198.82: icmp_seq=7 Destination Net Unreachable
From 84.116.198.82: icmp_seq=8 Destination Net Unreachable
From 84.116.198.82: icmp_seq=17 Destination Net Unreachable
I have to specify the interface with ping -I eth0 192.168.1.4, then it works, although this should already be specified by the local routes, like if the local request is routed over the public gateway. Looks like in Android the local routing is overriden by a hidden route to the default gateway.
So, what is the difference?

DHCP Client not assigning the Auto IP

Hi,
I am working on a project and i need a local private network to do some testing for WiFi. I am trying to connect to a Router which is not having the DHCP server .I have manually changed the settings of Router. Since the DHCP server is not running in the Router, the DHCP client will not be able get the IP address . As I know, if there is no DHCP server in the network the DHCP client should assign an Auto IP in the series 169.254.xx.xx according to the Zeroconf logic. But this is not working. The DHCP client is getting timed out and connection is getting reset. I am using the DHCP client version 5.2.10 from Roy Marples.
Does this DHCP client support the Zeroconf? If DHCP client supports, how to enable the Auto IP ?
