Can anyone help me with PocketNester? Or any NES emulator? - General Topics

I've got an XV6800 and am dying to play my NES ROMS. I got Pocket Nester loaded up but when you open a ROM, it just does like a matrix type screen and then closes down. Can someone help me to get it up a running, or another program that runs NES roms? I am not that knowledgeable about much other than opening a CAB file...I'm a designer so I use MAC! Thanks for any help.

I've read through that, but which nester files do I use? I don't understand any of that:
pn07_arm_ppc.zip
pn07_mips_ppc.zip
pn07_ppc2002.zip
pn07_sh3_ppc.zip
PocketNester-0.7a-src.zip

You mean you did unZIP pn07_arm_ppc.zip ?

Yeah, and it gives me the pnsetup_arm.exe which when I try to execute, it tells me it isn't a valid PC app.

The message makes me think you're running the executable on your XV6800. Instead run it on your computer and it'll queue it up to install on your next Sync.
Once it's installed you probably will want to experiment with the GAPI setting. I like to use the keyboard since my thumbs are a bit too big to for the external keys; unchecking GAPI made it so the picture was pointing the correct direction.

hey. i got a brilliant program that runs all th old systems. send me your email and i will send it to you. its called morphgear and it plays: Sega mega drive (genesis), turbografx, nes, sega master system, game gear, snes, gameboy and gameboy advance. i use it on my hermes and its really good. i have completed mario 3 and also mario world on it in the past week

try changing landscape to landscape left. Worked for me on my wing

Thanks, that worked...for one of the games, but the rest of them are all out of whack..not to mention the controls SUCK even after setting them to the buttons I wanted they still dont work. Landscape works on 1 of 5 games. None of the options menus allow me to scroll down.
I d/led the recommended emulator that was suppose to work on QVGA, oh well..it would have been cool

Are you seriously taking the piss!!! You have started a new thread just to tell people to go and find the original thread!!!!!!!
Mod please delete this thread, it is a waste of time and space.
Woohoo!!! Well I for one only browse the leo forums and I wouldnt have know, so thanks!!!
This is the best news for Windows mobile ever! Thanks for this post, I check the other forum but wasn't expecting already!
Holy Crap thanks info!#[email protected]!
at least say which topic !!!
I installed this onto my HD2, tried running a .bin file on my SD card but it loads the ps startup screen then it just exits the app. Could someone please let me know how to get this working?
The emulator is install on my device, I put the SCPH1001.BIN file in the BIOS directory and I'm trying to run the games off my SD card. I have to view all files when opening the games mind. I don't know why because they are .bin files.
What the hell is the special HD2 support the OP is mentioning?
not sure, its definetly hard to use on the HD2 the buttons are all tiny, and the screen taps on register if you swipe
Could someone please right up a step by step on how they got it to work on their phone. I'm having trouble starting it up.
Thanks for the tip on swiping accross the virtual buttons, I couldn't get it to work at first...
and I can't map hardware keys...
Okay, one of the developers of fpsece bought one week ago a htc leo, to fit fpsce to this device. Multitouch isn't implemented yet, but will come. G-Sensor support will come too.
Download the manual, read the manual and then plz ask specific questions. On my leo fpsece is running like hell.
Maybe i can help a little bit.
nice release, but the wiping issue makes it quite unusable. can't get any virtual analogsticks to run either, and the individual direction buttons are too unpractical without multitouch :-/

mind posting your fpse.ini?
I use the standard fpse.ini. In the fpsece forum there is a optimized fpse.ini, so fas as i understood. So no magic. Use the bios version 1001.
U get used to the buttons. U can also use the multikey option. Mutikey means, that if you press your screen two buttons will react.
Configuring the keys needs a litte bit of your time. So u can adjust what will happen if u touch your screen. Wether one touch one hit or one touch enables the key until another one is touched. Final fantasy 7 is a joy with the new emu
hmmm... i noticed pinch to zoom is on in FPSE and I do have BsB tweaks installed, but I can't find the FPSE name under the pinch to zoom list in order to disable it.
Could this be causing the swiping issue for virtual buttons? Can anyone that doesn't have pinch to zoom activated confirm this?
anybody has onscreen button reacting lag?
yep, just played a little more with it and the wiping issue and button lag is the same. takes ~1 second for any onscreen button to react.
tried deactivating the pinch to zoom through the blacklist key in the registry, but didn't work - its still active.
tried FF7, but cant get past the introscreen ... start button isn't working.
hope it will be fixed soon... and with multitouch, i will be so happy, that i will jump 3 meters high it is running great on HD2, just few more things
It is very very strange that we are having these issues, because the developer himself has one so surely he can't be having a fun time with it with all the issues?
The buttons actually seem to work as long as you set them to toggle on when you press.

Pocket Controller Pro-like application for Android?

I was wondering if there is anything like Pocket Controller Pro from SOTI:
http://www.soti.net/PCPro/Default.aspx
The application shows and controls the device (Windows Mobile for now, don't see any port to Android) from your PC screen.
Is there another type of application like this out there that can be used in the Android world ?
Thank you in advance.
I've searched high and low and can't find anything close to that app for android. I don't think one exists yet.
yes, also mobilier is much better for windows mobile, and it's free. It's called android screen cast http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=663390
Its funny but I've been on that almost all afternoon trying to get it to work. Seems like a good program, but just can't get it to work on my rooted phone. adb has always given me problems.

Weird, worked for me out of the box. But yeah, nowhere near as good as MyMobiler for WinMo.
Try Webkey!
Hey try Webkey. It's on the market and allows you to do quite a lot of stuff including writing emails and texts, looking at your screen, export messages, call lists, contacts and more! It's really pretty good and it's free on the market!
seems like pocket controller is finally releasing tomorrow for android

The Sensation & Online Flash

So, this is boiling my wee wee. I've tried a few different ways to get a online browser game to play on my sensation, but nothing works, the closest thing i can find that works is using a remote desktop app and leaving the laptop on, but over anything other than wifi this is slower than trying to run the game direct from browser.
My question is, are there any tips to running flash, can i for example hold part of the game on my sdcard and run its bigger files from there? or is it a case of shut up and put up?
Thanks in advance.
im using insertcoin 4.5.3 and games are working on miniclip?

Final Fantasy VII and VIII cheats on FPSE

Hi there,
I have made these cheats for FPSE. Just copy the slot1.mcd file and overwrite it. You can find it in: Root > Data > Data > Com.emulator.fpse > Files> Memcards
Obviously choose your cheat. don't just copy both slot1.mcd. It's either for FFVII or FFVIII.
WARNING: by overwriting your memory card, you will lose your save games from other games.
So easy to make cheats on FPSE. But I'll distribute these two games for now/.
What kind of cheats are included?
level 100 cheat, max gills etc.
PS: This cheat will only work on US versions of the game
I thought FPSe had a Game Genie option (or something similar)?
Yes it does,
But, I just managed to create one by converting my cheats from my PSP save game (using CWCHEAT).
Using those kinda takes all the fun outa playing FF7...
Why would anyone want to play FF7 or FF8 on Fpse. It's so slow.

Slow? Mine runs at 60 fps. Just gotta get the video and audio settings right. I can't tell you off the top of my head, but it took all of 3 minutes to zero in on the optimal setup.

If you say so. I know Fpse is slow as hell that's why PsxPeria was so promising.
Yeah, it was... back on Windows Mobile.
Now it's gotten a lot faster...
Besides, ICS and the new Adreno drivers have made it work at 60 fps for all the games i've tried.
Well I don't want to put the ICS Beta on my phone and lose WI-FI etc. SO in terms of ICS, I'll just wait until the official version comes out. I think I'm just going to take the plunge and download FPse. I know I'm going to be frustrated, but oh what the hell. If FF8 doesn't work, hopefully Chrono Cross will.
Hey jaja, I am trying to get the all cards cheat to work for FFVIII on FPse. Have you had any luck with that one?
EDIT: Got it. Opened the save file in ePSXe on the PC and applied it. Didn't think that would work but, using your info, I gave it a whirl and it did.
Yeah, it's actually really easy to put cheats on FPSE. Remember when converting a save file, you convert it to .mcr then rename it to mcd.
Actually, it worked fine for me using the mcd file. No conversion necessary.
I grabbed the save from fpse first. Epsxe was able to handle it.

Hey Jajabinx,
I'm using FPSE on Android 4x
I tried your FF7 save file and it all works fine until I get into a battle (after the slums when Tifa joins the group). Then the game gives me "data error, please push L1 + R1 + select to reset" which I did and it took me out of the battle. I have tried it several times to make sure this isn't a one time thing, but it gave me the same error.
Do you have another file that I can try? or can you point me to where I can get cheat codes to enter into the FPSE?
Thanks in advance.
what version do you have in fpse? and please help me??
how to cheat in any games using the code. im very confuse??

Monopoly Deal

I converted a .jar file of the game. It was a good trial and error with the different kinds of Monopoly Deal java games out there. This is not prefect, but playable on my Lenovo S890. Just had to fix some settings. After you install it, launch it. It will ask you to download App Runner. Choose download from netmite because you won't find it anymore on the Play Store. But I also uploaded the .apk file of App Runner and the QR Code. After everything is installed, run the app, then click your menu button and click settings menu, go to settings option and click Auto detect Game Canvas, then click back. If it's too small, you can go to the systems menu and play around with the zoom display. Try playing around with the settings to suit your taste. The display is set to 240x320. To me, that is the best option I can do (I am not a programmer, just a die hard Monopoly Deal fan who wants the program on his phone). If anyone can make a better one to fit 16:9 (540x960 on my phone) I would deeply appreciate it. I used the site netmite (just google it), to convert the java game. I also included the java game for the Nokia 5800 (which has a touch screen). But when I convert it, the ratio is all screwed up. Maybe some good soul can figure this out. Have fun.:fingers-crossed:

Funny you say this, I keep googling "Monopoly Deal Android" just to make sure no one has made it yet
I'm working on a University project which had me make a team to make the game and release it on the Play Store, so Hope we finish it so you can play it! (I think we'll have a different name & design due to copyright issues but It'll be the same game )
I managed to run it, but it was decentralized screen
