If you have done the BigStorage Hack and "installed" the application later on, it should be there in the Remove Programs list because the BigStorage hack simply nullifies the concept of ExtRom. If you can't find the program, you can tell me which one is it, and I will try to figure it out.

( Camera_Wizard_Magician_T-Mobile_WWE_RC28_Customize.Cab ) this is the one which i wish to remove.... and maybe u can tel me which cab is for changing themes too?

Themes come from .tsk files rather than .cab files. And about Camera Wizard.cab, it actually changes some registry values. Nothing else. Its not an application installer.

Mate,
Where can download the Ver 3.0(build 210801)
tell us how to get it off the phone and ill upload it!
u hv to hard reset the device 1st if u wan to get accessed to the ext rom.. so can u think of any way to make ur fren device hard reset....?
Hard resetting a friends device is always fun But if you don't really feel like it, you can just run the file windows/loadvdisk.exe instead, to gain access to the Extended_ROM folder. At least that's how it works on the Magician...
somebody needs to explain slowly, what exacly step by step does he need to do? Cheers
mayb u should use HBK method.. if there is loadvdisk.exe in the /windows directory of ur friend device.. after that u will c a folder named ext_ROM appear.. choose that folder n find for .cab file that u think that it sounds like camera file... gud luck
Hey,
How abt copying the exe file from windows folder and replace it to the older version exe.. Be sure to take a backup before replacing
Cheers..
Just copy the camera.exe from \windows to your desktop with Act.Sync & attach it to the board. No need for a cab, on the magician it's a single executable, proba. on the WM2005 version too. I doubt it will work on a magician under WM2003, but I'll give it a try!!!!
hes only got the upgraded mda compact its still running wm2003
so have u tried the method mentioned above to get the camera file?
WM2003SE is great news in this. Though I didn't notice major improvements in the camera builds between rom 1.12 & 1.13.
Maybe build 3.......?
any news???
greetings from berlin
yes! i transferd the camera.exe onto my phone and it doesnt work. It ajusts the brightness on the screen and rotates it but thats as far as it gets.
Just getting him to install resco to get the cab file
further update - he doesnt have loadvdisk on his.
we tried to copy over the dlls that go with the camera but neither resco or over activesync will let him do it... so were stuck!
-edit
weve got
camera.exe
CameraPictureDLL.dll
CameraVideoDLL.dll
he says theres no more camera related files on his, where as mine has camera_sensor.dll and one or two others.
ive coped these files over and it still does the same thing, rotates the screen ajusts the brightness then stops.
Im not gonna upload the files into this thread as i dont want cause confusion with people thinking its a working version (no matter how many times i say it doesnt work people will still asume it does!)
If anybody wants a copy of the files though pm me and ill give you a link
Loadvdisk.exe ia hidden-, system-, rom file. So get your settings correct.
??? how do i do that?

Try to rename that for example camera.ex_ , then it might be two files copy one of them which could copy or do soft reset & move your renamed camera.ex_ to as
Ryanmt.. b4 that try to look again for the resco explorer settings so that u can view all hidden files in the \windows dir.. after that locate the loadvdisk in the \windows n click it... after that a folder named Extended_ROM will appear.. try this 1st

CAB not deleted after install. How to delete them ?

As we know, by default when you install CAB it will get deleted after installation.
Some of cooked ROMs will disable this feature, so CAB will stay after installation. Which is OK for many people.
Here is my question. When I install new program using PC (through ActiveSync) it seems that ActiveSync will transfer CAB file (which is inside .exe) and then - install it as usual. So ... where will be those CAB files located and will they be deleted after installation if delete-cab-after-install feature is disabled ?
During TRANSFER ActiveSync does not ask .... "Do you want your CAB to be transferred to SD card or main memory", right ? It only asks during INSTALLATION of the CAB.
I make lots of installations using ActiveSync and would like to know if I'm not filling my valuable disk space (on phone itself) with junk CAB files.

Thats why I prefer to extract the cab out of the C:\Programs\Activesync and copy them to SDcard. Pro: you have all needed programs on SDcard and do not have to install throu activesync.

Also if you make the files readonly you don't need to worry about making the registry change to stop them being deleted after installation.

Porting T-Mobile Shadow's Chome plugin to other devices.

Hello.
I'v trying this for a couple of hours without effects.
Dumped rom, builded modules with PKGTool. Files are in OEM/Oemdrivers and SYS/Chome. It does't run by just copying. Need some way to regsvr dll files. Because Chome plugin is accesing partial plugins by GUID.
Anyone have idea?
I did the exact same thing. I haven't had any time to try anything else because I have finals next week. I'll let you know if I get anything
To all helpfull shadow users
Can some T-Mobile Shadow user backup those registry keys?
all those are in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\
Code:

or better just backup HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ and send me PM - I'll sent my mail.
You can use Registry Workshop to do this.
Those keys don't contains any personal information or settings so it's safe- don't worry.
//////////////////////////Edit////////////////////////////////
I've recieved all CLSID from [email protected]://allshadow.com forums but still no luck...
I'll be getting my own Shadow in a couple of days. I can do the backup then. Once again, I don't have much time to do anything else because of school and a robotics team I'm on.

I uploaded all the plugins and .png + reg entries that seems to be used with the chome home screen. all files are here:
http://www.esnips.com/doc/14b31b95-2c8f-4ae9-a6c9-1453df7d05e6/shadow
copy all the files in Windows to Windows folder. Add all the registry entries and copy T-mobile_basic_blue to Application Data\home\ folder.
Once I've tried to put all the files to my phone, I even got all the regedits (or maybe I've missed something) and I just got a white space on my homescreen.
how do i add the registry's to my phone?? do i add them with a reg edit app??

You cannot normally import .reg files on smartphones. However Resco Explorer from resco.net can do that.

Have You manage to run this plugin on non shadow device?
Files are easy to extract but make it work does not.
I tried on qtek 8500. It doesn't run and after reset the device stucks. Need a hard reset to factory defaults to work again. fortunately I had a backup.
I just got my own T-Mobile Shadow and I found out that you need to have a .scheme/.home XML file that sets the plugin. I think it's called cmhome.home. Also, you need cmhomeres.dll.0409. I'm going to try adding these in to the rom...

It was a complete ROM port though. I'll see about making a CAB when I have some free time.

Sounds like a HTCHomeSettings.xml mismatch issue.
If your going to update any 2D theme make sure you use the new themes HTCHomeSettings.xml or adjust the original one accordingly.
Check the developement & Hacking section for more help.
HTCHomeSettings.xml
Hm, but this file HTCHomeSettings.xml is already inside this ROM and I cant delete it. It always shows me "You cant delete it". How can I delete it ROM files ?

You can only over write it, first turn off 2D from the today menu and then copy your new xml file to the windows directory.
im having trouble with that too! everytime i try to edit an xml file, I try to copy it to my windows directory and i always get an error message. and it just copies it and doesn't replace it

Why would you be deleting any of those files in the first place? Download TotalCommander or Resco, shut down TouchFlo (as Ttran has stated twice now), edit or overwrite old files on phone, turn TouchFlo back on.

Digital clock
My problem is that If I install digital clock for MANILA2D it doesnt run. I have to again recopy the HTCHomeSettings.xml, but after that I again have the anolog clock. Where is problem ? I had original WM6 ROM and Manila 2D installed the digital clock worked fine but I havent any free device storage free. That's the reason why I had to flash the original ROM.
You can try change with M2D customizer v0.11,hope it'll help you.

Slide to settings page > Applications > Remove programs
That should take care of it... (You might have to do a soft reset for the changes to take effect).
