4,5h battery discharge to 0% after WM6 update - what to do? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro ROM Development

I am pretty happy with WM6 update - it is fast, stable and looking good (Jwrightmcps Crossbow ROM Update 2.12.04 WWE, radio 1.17). But besides the insignificant problems there is one great - the device consumes the battery terribly fast now. Only 4,5h when simply reading a book instead of more than 8 before - this is the disaster. The battery is then completely discharged to 0-5%. 3200mAh battery performs correspondingly better.
Could anyone point me to a decision for the issue?

Please try different rom

Mona Lisa 19700 battery life

All of a sudden my battery life seems to have died while ive been using the mona lisa 19700 rom. hs anybody else got this problem or could it be a problem with my actual battery?
any help would be much appreciated
I am using Mona lisa. Battery life is good as ever
must be the actual battery then. I'm off to ebay lol
how is battery life in Mona Lisa 19700 compared to Wm 6.1 Clean?
Right now i'd say that original ROM made the battery last longest.
I have tried M.Gonzo's WM 6.1 and Clean ROM v 1.1 and both seem to drain much more battery than original HTC's rom. With these ROM's the phone lasts one day, with HTC ROM lasts one and half. :-(
I didn't use Mona Lisa long enough to evaluate though. Let me know your experinece..
Ok i've ordered a new battery with double the capacity but its gonna make my vox 5mm thicker lol
i'm actually gettin much better battery life with these new roms.
probably coz usin the phone is much easier, requires lesser button presses and quicker to get in, read msg/make call/check calendar/etc... and then get out.
so screen is lit for much less time than it used to be.

Best 6.1 rom and battery combination

Hello I have searched the threads looking for a rom and radio which will allow me to reach a full day's use or more using my extended battery. I have my unit set to download rss feeds every 15 mins as well as emails. Of course it will be running software such as SPB shell which will be updating the weather as well. So far with the current 6.1 rom which I am running along with radio 1.18 the unit doesn't seem to hold a candle to this use. I have read in other threads of the 1.18 radio being the best just would like to know which is the latest 6.1 with the best battery consumption. All help is appreciated in advance
On my personal experience
Toml 8.2, 8.5 and 8.9 are very god stable ROM´s with great battery life
Test them all and decide for yourself!
Hey I am at work at the moment during a flashing to radio 1.18 I lost all my info on the device (I didnt read the instructions had my sd card in slot (long story)). Anyhow was wondering what was on average your usuage and consumption of battery. I am debating buying a bigger battery (bigger than the one I have) which I am eyeing on Ebay. As you can tell I can't wait to have my unit flashed and with a reliable battery life. I just recieved the phone and love it just hate carrying around a charger
When I was using the recommended ROM´s my battery life was aprox of 1 day and a half using:
1hr WIFI
2hr Bluetooth
A lot of calls
With my original battery from 2005.
I would not buy a bigger one, Unis is big enough to put a bigger battery, I would buy another original battery.
After many tests I've gone to Tomals 8.2 Vanilla rom, It's stable good at everything and its vanilla so you install what you want
aktopshooter,
I have several batteries. Under constant useage (no wifi/gprs/bt/ir, backlight on, phone on, SD in)
Best PU16A 1620mAh lasts 3hr 30mins
My only 3200mAh (double-size battery) lasts 6hr 10mins [I bought of eBay]
I repeat, this is under constant useage (test conditions) with backlight continuously on.
I usually tend to carry two normal batteries if I know I'm going to need juice, rather than the double-sized one for same reasons as Orb, Uni is big enough without a huge battery sticking out!
I would like to thank all who replied to my question. I have loaded a tomal rom and also started to use my regular battery versus my extended my battery. I was blow away by the normal battery for some reason it seems to out perform my extended battery. I am easily getting through a day with out even worrying about charging the battery through out the day. I am downloading mail every 15 mins and checking rss feeds every thirty mins plus lots of texts and calls the battery handles it well. My extended battery is nice but I rather the slim oem battery it just makes the phone feel hell of sexy and appealing

Unfortunately, Uni is not known for its great battery life compared to other devices simply due to the demands of a large screen. Various ROMs will be more or less economical when it comes to battery, but don't expect a huge improvement.
As far as getting a battery on eBay, be very careful. The last battery I purchased charges and drains at the same speed.
Also don't buy batteries from dealextreme, they are crap
Hi!!
Reading this post, I will go a little "off topic", but where to buy on line good battery.
My 3200 is dying.... and I lost my standard battery cover...

O2 XDA Atom Exec backup battery drained for good?

Hello... Over the past few days, my ppc has been turning off all of a sudden despite the main battery still having enough charge. When I checked backup battery meter in settings, it was no longer there. Prior to that, I remember trying to flash my device with WM6 with no luck therefore I reverted back to the original WM5. And then a day or two after that, while at work, my phone charge was completely drained -- had a battery low warning for the backup/internal batt but it was already too late for me to charge the phone so it shut down. When I did charge it, while the main battery charged to 100%, the backup battery was no longer detected.
I was searching for a solution through the forum but found inconclusive results . I was thinking of replacing the backup battery however I'm not sure if there is indeed one to start with (nothing mentioned in Atom Wiki). O2 no longer has customer support and where I'm located I don't have access to PDA repair shops.
Even if O2 Atom Exec's battery life is known to be crap , I really love this phone and would like to keep it longer. I hope somebody can help me out...

If none of that helps perhaps it´s time to buy a new battery

Thanks for the reply, orb3000. Quite informative link. I've got no problem with my main battery (lithium), though. It's the internal/backup battery that I'm concerned about. I don't know why exactly it went missing. There used to be 2 battery meters in start > settings > power. 1 is for the main battery and the other one for the backup battery (internal). It's the backup battery that's no longer being detected. My lithium polymer battery is still working ok.
Oh and by the way, I very recently just flashed my ppc with N-Touch WM6 OS (absolutely awesome!). I noticed that the battery life is a lot longer now compared to how it was with the original WM5. But my backup battery meter is still missing

2430MAH Battery to Increase Usage Time!!

If you're like me and use your ChaCha all the time and can't help but notice it's incredibly poor lifetime. I have found a solution for you that does not require you to have a separate PowerBank.
Get this battery from Ebay:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2430MAH-H...084?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1e66923a44
And Use My CamDroid 1.5 (Lightweight ROM). Updates available regularly to flash.
Enjoy, I have already tested the 2430MAH Battery from Japan with my ROM and it works like a dream.
TechMayhem
Sorry,i have to say that it doesn't work at all for me.
I did 3 complete cycle the moment i got the battery and then charged for over 10 hours but it still last the same as the original or even less....
I don't believe it is real number.
I have the HTC chacha extended battery (BA S570 2430MAH):
Located at the address:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HTC-CHACH...ps=63&clkid=4356697590062588000#ht_2020wt_904
It lasts me for more than 3 days in standby mode, and if i use it, it lasts for more than 2 days. pretty much better than the stock original battery. it is 2430MAH and also, doesnt heatup, no other issues. I am still very happy with it.

Rom for Battery

Hello all, in advance sorry for my English.
I put this topic as it seeks long-rom on which the battery holds. For some time I have a problem with it because it is quickly discharged. I tried wm 6.5 clean, but the same effect. If anyone knows how to solve my problem, what rom is designed to please write back.
Almost sure that your battery is aging now. Different ROMs hardly ever make a difference for runtime of the battery. Safest is to check with the shipped ROM.
The original VOX batteries (from Simplo) are not long lasting (compared to Sanyo Batteries that HTC used in the Tornado) - and due to the age of the device you may have problems in getting a good replacement.
Look up my battery measurement thread in my signature to get some background on the topic.
