ROM with Tilt Fixes - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

Greets,
I see we have a lot of choices in cooked ROM's. I was wondering if any of these ROM's include all the tilt fixes necessary (keyboard, proxy, etc) once you flash out of stock AT&T.
Thanks

take dutty's touchflo tilt version

Custel's is a very nice and quick rom, but i would not go as far as saying it blows all other roms out of the water.
once you flash your first rom its quick and easy to flash other ones so i would just give them all a try to find wich one you like best. one thing you should look out for tho is if the rom is compatible with 14.09 radio, for me it is really a big boost in signal strength with the new radio. its all about taking and leaving some things when you arent making your own roms, you just have to find one that suits your needs best.

If you want the ultimate customization and you're also tech saavy, I highly recommend cooking your own ROM.
I like contributing back to the Kaiser community so I've already released an HTC based ROM w/ all OEM packages for everyone to begin cooking.
Look forward to the same with the ATT 1.6 ROM sometime next week.

See my sig, AT&T Chopped & Screwed.

Whats fastest cooked rom?

I could have worded it the "bestest cooked rom", but whatever.
Hey whats the best rom to flash that has the fastest response time and/or more onboard memory available? Im torn at either one of these or other suggestions:
1) Factory Shipped ROM form HTC from Austinsync's HardSPL sticky page
or
2) RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.5_radio_sign_22.45.88.07_1.27.12.11_Ship from the HTC_Kaiser Wiki page, in the ftp downloads section
All the bloatware is congesting my AT&T 8900 (that's right, no cameras plz).
Anyone with experience with any of these would help push me one way or the other.
Thanks

None of the above is cooked rom!!
I think austinsnyc GoodROM_Bigstorage.
I started this thread so I wouldnt take space in one of the long threads. I am hearing great stuff about the AT&T TILT AKU.0.7.0 Cooked ROM Clean+BigStorage by Luxx, it can be found in helmi_c's Kaiser 0.7.0 Cooked ROM thread. Both of those are cooked and that is great news. Sounds like the kitchen is starting to open and the chow line is forming!
Ive got one worry before i put a new ROM on this phone though. It's AT&T's 8900 noncamera version of the tilt/8925. Because there are some settings missing, like anything to do with a camera and also there is no button for camera on the side, will putting any of the ROM's that are made for the camera phones bork, brick or barbeque my ala carte cameraless phone?
Thanks
shouldnt, other than the occassional freeze-up on the phone if you were to try to run the camera/video when none was there (and even then it might not freeze up, just shouldnt run since the reference will lead to nowhere on the phone). This is though all under my basic assumption that the ROM made for the non-camera version is just the regular ROM minus a few camera/video cabs and some different registry entries (which common sense would lead me to believe)
i wish i could take credit for making that rom but i cant. it is a very fast and stable rom though. LuXx

TyTN II ROM - Best One?

Sorry for simple question, newbie here. Is there a concensus on the best ROM to update the TyTN II (US Version). I am having trouble deciphering all the threads. Is the HTC "factory" ROM best option? Thanks for any advice offered.

It all depends on what you are looking for. There are tons of ROMs for that device. Dutty's Touchflo is really good if you want that type of interface. The problem with the original ROM is it isn't optimized very well, could be faster and there are others out there that are. You should be lucky you dont have the Tilt, that ROM from AT&T is the slowest I have had on the device. I am looking at one that is fast and comes with as little as possible, but still allows for lots to be added, for instance I like Dutty's Touchflo but I would like to have a clean one with nothing but the basics then add the stuff myself that I want. (touchflo so far doesn't have a cab installer).
I found about 5 more ROMs that I wanna try out before I decide on just settling for one (for now).
Tilt
The TyTN II is the Tilt, isn't it? I have the Tilt.
The TyTN II and the Tilt/8925 are variants of the HTC Kaiser. Different models, but very similar.
TYTN II have the front camera, tilt doesn't.
That's the only noticeable difference (aside from different coloured keyboard).
Another difference is the way the radio is implemented into the Tilt on the latest ROM. The Tilt Radio does not work with the TyTN II ROM, but the Tilt ROM works with the TyTN II Radio. Not to confuse you or anything.

Don't worry about the Tilt/TyTN II differences. Just read through the discussion thread for each ROM releases and decide which one fits you better. I went through HelmiC's BigStorage, Kyphur's XDA-Live 1.0, and now I have finally settled with Dutty's Hybrid No.4 Lite version. I ditched Helmi's because it was outdated. XDA-Live was very problematic for me but ran awesome. No.4 Lite has been great so far with no problems. *knock on wood* So, it's pretty much a trail-and-error kind of deal. Try and decide on which one to keep.
another newbie with the same question. Flashing is a pain when you first start, but you gotta get use to it. Some of us flash our phones twice a week. Play around with your stock phone and figure what apps you like. Then find a rom that seems close to it. Then flash it. Otherwise, if you are afraid to flash, stick with the stock.
After flashing half a dozen roms I have settled on the latest ATT Tilt rom without the customizations and the device is overall more stable and usable than ever, plus no need to CID unlock...bonus.

CID Unlock and Sim Unlock are 2 different things
Back on topic:
If you're after the Touch interface, go with Dutty's Touch Rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=344351
If you want something that's not too far removed from the stock HTC, but with some bugs fixed and other improvements, go with Sleuth:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=343867
I'm currently running Dutty's Hybrid Test Final RTM, from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=341879
It's the best mix of speed, apps, and stability I've found.
If you want a starting point, try that. But be warned: rom flashing is an addictive pursuit. Once you start, there'll always be that nagging feeling that the next rom is better, or that someone else's rom has features you need.
Good luck!
You should really refer to the Wiki first before you do any flashing.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser
I would highly recommend doing a CID unlock & Flash and ROM on your phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334679
If you have a TyTN II I would suggest using Dutty's ToucFlo Final ROM.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=344351
If you have a At&t Tilt I would suggest using Dutty's TouchFlo Tilt Beta ROM.

English verison Rom HTC tilt HTC TyTn 11
Hello, I'm working in Russia, i bught the above here in msocw, but the rm is Russian version, Where can i ger an English (european) rom version?
I would really be greatful for some assistance..
Thank you
Just remember, when CID unlocking your device to flash cooked roms, there will be more of a process reverting to an ATT rom, if the need arises i.e. return, or warranty issues.
By starting off with an official ATT rom, there is no need to use HardSPL and like I previously mentioned, restarting before ATT custoimizations initiate leaves you with a speedy, reliable, full featured rom that is a lot better than the fully bloated, initial ATT release (radio is worlds better in the new one)
Then, you can always CID unlock and flash again later to a cooked rom if you wish. This could be considered a baby step to customizing and is a safe way to go.
My biggest gripe with a lot of the cooked roms, especially ones based on the HTC factory build is that they are not oiptimized for the tilt and have superflous features that I don't need/want.
Just my 2 pennies.
Maybe we need a upgrade guide like MrVanx made for the hermes.

How does the cube work on Gullum's ROM...I have no complaints with Dutty's TouchFLO Tilt BETA
I do not think Gullum includes the cube. Maybe someone that actually runs it can chime in.

Any bricked Kaisers or flashing problems?

I ask because my Hermes currently has "no GSM" and is effectively a wifi PDA now (and even at that is a bit shaky). Now my Hermes was a referb and the issues started gradually, so it my have nothing to do with flashing, still once bitten twice shy!
Just would like some feed back before I go flashing my shiny new beloved Tilt.
Any feedback... comments welcomed.
Thanks....
installed spl on my tilt.
flashed probably 10 different roms so far.
had since release date.
installed a million different apps and configs.
no bricks here.
Good to hear thanks!
Looking at ROMs now... Probably sticking with an AT&T based ROM.
any preferences for AT&T users?

If you just looking for At&t based ROM's there are several to choose from. If you do decide to install one of these ROM's please do a HardSPL. Also if you will also need to upgrade your radio to 1.27.14.09
Depends what you are looking for. These are all At&t builds
Dutty's:Dutty's TouchFlo Rom Beta 2 TILT VERSION
Custel: CUSTEL Series v2.0
XDA:Tilt XDA-Live v 1.2
Here is a link to the radio.

I've just downloaded many of those ROMs and my give it a shot a bit later.
I have to say coming from a Hermes this Kaiser is a real sweet machine, even with the official AT&T ROM is runs great! It runs so much better than my Hermes.
Not sure what I think about the touch cube. Afraid it will slowing my Tilt down verses not having it. Maybe I'll try it then decide.

UPDATED: Would you like to see a cooked build of the new 19202?

I have been adding/deleting features and programs in the new 19202 build that NoThrills has so graciously released to us.
Due to it kaiser designed base, giving it amazing speed(even in complete stock form), I was curious as to how many people would like a cooked version released, with some bug fixes, registry tweaks, and also some added utilities.
If you would like this, please respond letting me know what you would like to see in this release. I have already cooked several versions for my own person use, and modified it for my own use.
Just let me know what everyone would like to see, and ill try my best to release a few builds to accommodate the majority.
First Release of my Hybrid OS 5.2.19202 (Build 19209) can be found here after I upload: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2069244#post2069244
Yes please!
I'd love to see the basic ROM with bug fixes and generic updates to the HTC progs. To many ROMs get stuffed with extraneous crap that isn't useful.
Cook away brother, as I'd enjoy the sampling.
I do not think this is a good build to cook from unless you feel like spending lots of time in the kitchen fixing MS screw ups! Has anyone noticed the screen tearing from the new .dlls? plus there are a few other things I won't mention since most of you haven't played with roms that long to understand what I am talking about.
What specifics would you like to see?
Such as apps to be added/removed
What bugs do you think should have priority?
etc, etc...
uDK just released a version...
I'd like to see a "If HTC could be bothered to put all the fixes and S/W updates in all one ROM, This is how it would look ROM"
Camera Fix
Camera Album
Comm Manager
Video Dialer
Calculator
Little fixes like backlight going out on call.
Removing of the useless Windows Update.
But most Important its clean!!! Fresh...
UC compliant for all us to enjoy the phone our way...
I like flashing other peoples work... But thats their work... The way they want the phone... Yes they add little bits and take bits out on request sometimes... But how nice would it be to have our own way...
Argh 1st post other than just a thanks so I babbled and lost my self...
Thanks for your suggestions. I am working on these fixes as I type.
So far I have completed this:
- Working Video Dialer
- Comm Manager(6 Button)
- Latest HTC Album
- Camera Fix(Latest which i have seen)... PLEASE post the cab that contains which fix you are speaking of.
- Calculator
- GPS Test
- Office and OneNote has been removed in the lite version
- Welcome Center removed
- HSDPA Icon added
- HTC Plus added(disabled by default)
- HTC Home updated(now with tab under today settings)
- And more!
all the latest htc apps.....audio manager,home,album etc.....plus total comander is a must...thanks

Well, I'm not a professional cook. But I flashed about every ROM that was ever out here, both on my Hermes and my Kaiser.
And despite of your reactions, AllTheWay and Austinsnyc, I really really dig this ROM. Never had a faster and snappier ROM before (even not Dutty's), no single freeze for 4 days, never needed to softreset.
I don't use voicecommander, but I dó use bluetooth (carkit, external phone), GPRS, HSDPA, phone, TomTom, Navigon, PointUI, PZPTools, etc. It all works great!
Yes, there are some problems reported, but aren't they also with Dutty's, Schaps, Alex's?
And yes, it may be a cooked ROM, but for me it's really worth further developing...

Too many ROMS to choose from!

Hi guys,
I'd like to try a custom ROM again, but with the almost 100s available I'd rather ask the question - I'm looking for a normal standard Raphael ROM with just the standard apps on as it came out on the Raphael.
So basicly just a straight dump from Raphael HTC rom to go onto a Kaiser (with the neccesary tweaks of course to make it work). No other personalised apps, schemes, etc etc.
Are there something like this?
You probably can port a ROM from Raphael.

Well seeing as how the Raphael has TF3D, that narrows your search down to about 2 ROMS L26 V4 or -G-'s SE TF3D! But if you are looking for simple and easy for daily use without alot of tweaking you are not going to want TF3D! I would go with -G-'s SE TF2D or Hyperdragon Raphael build! You are going to get alot of suggetions because ROMs are different for each person, the easy thing to do is ask but the best thing to do is try them out and gain valuable exp for yourself!

There are two types of people here, those that like flashing new ROMs every chance they get, and if I were a psychiatrist, I would diagnose those with ADD ( Attention Deficit Disorder candidates), and those that want a stable ROM that they would show it off to their friends, and keep it for a long time; a ROM that is reliable and fast and has many programs. The first type of people are adventurous however when they flash a new ROM, and if it glitches a bit, they get frustrated and wished they would have stayed with their previous ROM. BUT they go on and try other ROMs for hopes they come across one that is even better than their previous one they liked.
So which person are you? do you intend to flash often for the sake of flashing or you just want one that has most user programs and looks somewhat good? OK ... let us know and we'll guide you then toward the "Ultimate" ROM that would satisfies your curiosity and fits your personality.
To be honest, I've tried all Dutty's, L26, Hyperdragon, PDACorner, Garmin (3 editions) and I'm still unable to choose one !
When he was active Dutty was the best, but now all these ROMs are just beautiful, and I've been flashing for a couple of days, and still unable to make my choice.
It becomes frustrating at the end, because our Chefs are so great that they release a new ROM each week...

...and those that want a stable ROM that they would show it off to their friends, and keep it for a long time; a ROM that is reliable and fast and has many programs. The first type of people are adventurous however when they flash a new ROM, and if it glitches a bit, they get frustrated and wished they would have stayed with their previous ROM. BUT they go on and try other ROMs for hopes they come across one that is even better than their previous one they liked.

Hehe, very true! I've done the ROM hopping on the Kaiser and previous Vox, but is now more after the stable quick easy-to-use one ;-) Hence i actually moved back to a standard HTC ROM (but there's still that customization side that needs tickling...)
Thanks for the replies so far.. I'll the ones mentioned.

I always tend to flash that rom too, and then the cycle starts over again flashing over and over again. I can't go a weak without trying something different!

I got my tilt about 3 months ago, and have been flashing constantly! Yet to find the right one for me! All of them are good, but not perfect for me. And I dont want to cook, cuz I am too lazy! So I will keep flashing, but finding a perfect ROM is never going to happen!!

So which person are you? do you intend to flash often for the sake of flashing or you just want one that has most user programs and looks somewhat good? OK ... let us know and we'll guide you then toward the "Ultimate" ROM that would satisfies your curiosity and fits your personality.

I wouldn't completely classify myself in the first category, as I know quite what I want and I know it isn't there yet. I love M3D roms and I do enjoy packing it full of features and everything. I have run L26's M3D rom for a while, and I just tried -G-'s for a day yesterday. But then many times those roms have enough issues pop up that make the phone basically unusable, and then I will back track to either a M2D rom, or even a HTC Home rom just for speed, stability, and in the case of the HTC Home roms, flawless landscape support. Then after a week or two, I start looking at the M3D roms again, hoping that there have been some fixes and work arounds and I start trying it again, and the cycle goes again!
And for what you mentioned about wishing to put the previous rom on there...Norton Ghost would be a great product for these phones!
