1 Pocket Pc, 2 Exchange Accounts - General Topics

Hello Everyone, I Have One Really Big Issue.
I Have Two Full-blown Exchange Accounts, I Mean With Separate Calendars, Email Address, Contacts, Notes, Tasks.
I Also Have Only One Pocket Pc.
Anyone Have Any Idea How I Could Use Both On The Same Phone?
I Mean I Am Sure There Is A Program There Somewhere That Works Like Activesync And Has Its Own Task, Email, Calendar Managers, Right?
I Could Use Activesync For One Account And That Other Program For Other Right?
However, I Have No Idea What That Program Could Be...
Anyone Knows?
Or Is There Any Other Way To Make Two Separate Exchange Accounts Be Downloaded To Same Device And Show As Separate Accounts Still?
(i Do Not Want My Email To Be Forwarded, I Do Not Want My Email Box To Have Email Addressed To Both Email Addresses In One Huge Inbox. I Do Not Want My Calendars To Be Synced To One. I Do Not Want My Task List To Be On The Same List For Both Accounts. Basically, Same Device, Two Separate Accounts, Or Profiles If There Is Such A Thing).
Thank You For All Your Help.

Unless you're able to maintain exchange profiles on your pocket PC, i don't think it will work. I have the same problem and have not found a solution yet.

Google Calendar/Gmail push

Hey there. Ive been looking for quite a while now, but even the search function in this huge board cant help me out.
I'd like to:
Have my Gmail pushed
Have my Gmail Contacts synced
Have my Google Calendar 2way synced
ive found several possibilities to sync either gmail OR calendar via Exchange, using www.nuevasync.com for Calendar and Contacts OR using mail2web.com for Gmail. Sadly nothing that supports both.
Now, since i cant use 2 Exchange servers with wm 6.1 (im using UdK's Diamond R8 on my Polaris) im kinda stuck.
Does anyone of you know a service that offers both Gmail push and Calendar/Contacts sync, or if its possible to have 2 Exchange servers sync simultaneously, how?
And, to make it worse, id prefer not to use any additional programs like SEVEN or oggsync.
thanks in advance

any help appreciated
Despite what people may say, it is possible to sync with two Exchange servers. The only way I've been able to do it successfully is to manually create the partnership reg keys in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\ActiveSync\Partnerships by copying and editing an existing partnership. Do this with ActiveSync closed.
I currently have one server set up to do mail, contacts, tasks and a second exchange server to do only calendaring. If you have multiple Exchange servers with the same services marked (i.e., mail checked for two), things start to get hairy. If you want to try to do calendaring with two servers, you'll need to change the value "NonLocalCrossPolination" in the ActiveSync key to 1, and no guarantees that you won't cause some sort of recursive loop of updates.
Partnerships are treated in LIFO order - Push sync notifications to the device are only recognized by the FIRST partnership listed in ActiveSync, which seems to be the LAST partnership added. This means that 99% of the time you'll want whichever server is set to do mail to be the last one you add. Whenever you receive a push notification that a sync is necessary, all partnerships will check for updates. This normally works just fine since you'll be receiving mail at least as often as you will be making calendar changes.
thanks for the help, ill try to get that workin.
I can confirm that this is working.
Have you seen this from Google?

Yeah, Google just started their own sync service using Active Sync.

Still doesn't sync your mail, but you can always use IMAP
Has anyone been able to use this to sync multiple calendars?

[Q] Sync Outlook Email on Android (through USB, not Exchange)

I don't have Exchange, I just use Outlook at home with my POP3 account, is there any software I can use to Sync my Outlook emails to my phone (Android 2.2), just through USB sync? I can't find any.
I've got my contacts & calendar sync'ing fine, through HTC sync software.
This is so frustrating not having emails on my phone, I'm almost thinking of installing hMailServer onto my WHS box..
Appreciate the feedback.
HTC Desire HD.
configure your outlook to leave copy of messages on the server and add the same account to your phone using IMAP (or if you do not have IMAP access, set it as POP3 and also leave messages on the server)
I would have replied the same as the previous poster but maybe OP doesn't have a data plan?
Sent from my Vision using XDA App
That won't really sync with my outlook though, it's just checking the emails remotely, which I have been doing. I file all of my emails that I want to keep from my inbox into sub-folders, so I really need to sync my phone with Outlook.
Anyone else have some options before I start looking at setting up an SMTP server? Surely there's got to be something that will sync Outlook emails?
I was very surprised that the HTC sync software didn't do it!
I'm assuming by the lack of responce my only option is to setup a SMTP server..
I did find one cleaver idea, but isn't suitable for me, posting if anyone else is searching for a solution:
- Use Gmail (or similar) to pick up your email from your pop account
- Sync Outlook & phone with Gmail
The issue I have with this one is I use multiple domain names that I need to email out from..

This is the best method. You can actually pull multiple accounts into GMail (up to 5, I believe), and then you can also set Gmail up so that you can send as one of those accounts. The latest version of Gmail for Android lets you choose which account you then want to use - right there on your phone.

Question about using POP account through Hotmail

Hi,
Till now I am using Gmail to fetch my pop3 accounts and it is just perfect.
But it doesn't really syncing with WP.
The main question is, if I migrate my pop3 accounts from Gmail to Hotmail, is it will be possible (on my phone) to send emails from various accounts?
It will only be possible if you add the POP account's login info to your WP7 device.
as a separate mail account?
Correct. You don't really have to sync them, if you don't want to, but that will make sending replies pretty hard.
I did not understood..
How exactly I have to set the accounts?
The phone doesn't support custom FROM fields, so far as I know. You can sync your POP3 (people still use that?) accounts to the phone and reply from them, of course. If you get your POP3 accounts through Hotmail, they'll probably show up on the phone but the replies will appear to come from Hotmail.
OK, I see that here is no way to use just one inbox for now as Microsoft advertise Hotmail...
Sad because Gmail on Android works perfect, I wish here were also.
Well, you could certainly sync your POP3 accounts to the phone, and then merge the inboxes for them with your Hotmail or Gmail (or both) accounts. Then, it's a "one inbox" experience on the phone, certainly.
The main thing is not how they will look like on the phone.
For me is important to be in one place- gmail or hotmail..

Outlook - is there or isnt there a foolproof solution on WP7?

Hi, yes I know, there are myriads of ugly workarounds, "exports", plugs-n-bugs, "connectors", "Exchange" accounts, etc.
But is there a simple, dedicated application (app, whatever) that allows a non-corporate user with existing private Outlook on his PC to have his Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and at least few of latest emails in Inbox and Sent Items to sync in ONE simple step?
Not some complicated, split, multi-step process that needs constant attention, but a solution that every user can implement - most likely, a central storage for user's Outlook data. I dont mind "confidentiality" and that my Outlook data is in the "cloud", just need a simple solution.
To give one little example - even something as basic as Contacts sync, requires some abra-cadabra "connector" but even if you pass the seven gates (and must from then use a separate "Hotmail" folder for your contacts in you OWN Outlook), even then, Windows Live reject any contact with more than 1,000 charachters AND for "invalid" email addresses, which you have to hunt-for in your existing contacts...Tasks sync? Dont even mention. Mincrosoft copies even the "we tell you what you need" of Apple here.
If there is a "one-click" solution for this glaring omission, what is it and perhaps people are already working on an App? If there isnt, why not - is there some Microsoft lock-down in the Outlook or the WP7 that prevents it?
I gave up a little while ago and just switched to Windows Live Mail. Does all the things I need it to and its free.

Windows live would be the easier way or to connect to live and your home email at same time. The problem is home accounts such as calendar have to email or tasks to sync. Since syncing is done over the air, windows phone can access comcast's email for example. but comcast does not provide anything else. So solution would be, create a hotmail / live account to sync. You must have one anyway for windows phone. In outlook sync to same hotmail and add your other account as a 2ndary. Add the other account on windows phone also.
Problem solved. Outlook will sync calendar and contacts / tasks to windows live and your phone will retrieve it from there. For email they will be both sync both accounts.
Hope this makes sense, but it will work that way.

Adding birthdays to contacts

Guys,
I'm setting up my wife's new phone.
I don't seem to be able to add birthday, anniversary dates, etc to a contact unless I link all the contacts to Google; something I don't want to do.
Any ideas how to get round this?
TIA
Hi, this may or may not help! My method. My wife and I share the same contacts/calendar list. So I created a dummy gmail account. On our phones, tablets we only allow that dummy email address to sync its contacts and calendar. Vice versa, on our real gmail and Outlook accounts the contact and calendar sync is disabled. This works quite well. If that's not you want try searching for CardDav. This is what my Blackberry is using, it works perfect. You should find a number of Android app's and corresponding CardDav servers. Hope this helps.
But you mention birthdays, anniversaries etc, wouldn't it be more advantageous to put these items in a calendar, setup to give timely reminders of upcoming events?
From Wikipedia quote" CardDAV*(short for*Card Distributed Authoring and Versioning) is an*address book*client/server protocol designed to allow users to access and share contact data on a server. "Unquote.

Hi Graham,
Thanks for the reply, mate. I think just turning off the sync is probably the way to go, and that's what I've done.
I'm grateful for your input.
C.
