HTC ROM or DOPOD ROM?

Hi everyone. I've just got hold of the vodafone version of the HTC VOX and will be unlocking it via the imei unlock website shortly.
I've been reading through the posts here and I can find the DOPOD rom, which seems ok but not sure if there is an HTC version. From what I can see the DOPOD is really HTC but more aimed at the Asian market.
So is there an HTC version of this ROM available yet and where can it be found?
Does anyone have any info or screen shots of what the apps and features of the DOPOD rom actually are? The reason is that Vodafones versions seem ok but I am interested to know what the other brands add in or leave out?
Look forward to hearing from you all....
Some people dumped their ROM, but at the moment there is no tested/proven method to flash these dumps. I'm not aware of any official ROM update from HTC for the unbranded HTC S710. Once you have unlocked your Vox, and with unlock I mean "CID unlocked" which means you can flash any ROM (not just your provider's branded version), and once there is an official HTC ROM update available, you are able to flash it.
Keep an eye on my "Vox bootloader" thread here, because it deals with those subjects CID unlocking, dumping and flashing ROMs.
Update
Apparently there are official ROM updates available. See"
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Vox/rom/
There's a test version as well. Whatever it is ...
Thanks for the reply and info. I like the page you've set-up and will be monitoring it for more updates.
Think I'll try the DOPOD rom as this vodafone version is just damn annoying with all there network settings plastered all over it (as you'd expect!).
Always like the more generic roms so will give it a go....
Super quick Q
If i get my device (HTC Vox) unlocked from Imei-check.co.uk, that means (removes SIM/NETWORK LOCK - use any provider, removes CID lock - flash any firmware)
So please confirm that since it is CID unlocked, i can flash ANY vox firmware (i love the look of Dr. Gonzo's)
I apologise for being a bit apprehensive, but i just bricked my SPV M600 (Aka HTC Prophet)! lol
R.I.P Beautiful Prophet!
Yes. You can use any ROM once it is CID unlocked, however you do not need to pay for this service, you can use the Vox USPL to patch SPL to allow unsigned ROM to be flashed.
The only benefit to services like imei-check are permanent SuperCID and removing the SIM/SP lock.

Orange Branded Kaiser to Official HTC Rom

I am getting an Orange branded Kaiser next week and will want to revert it to the official HTC Rom, I have never done anything like this so am a bit green. I have downloaded the file RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.5_radio_sign_22.45.88.07_1.27.12.11_Ship.rar
Can any one tell me if this is the official English version of the HTC rom and also is all I have to is follow the idiots guide in the other thread on this forum.
I'd recommend you ask orange for the sim unlock code before attempting this.
Unless you're happy to flash your phone and be unable to use *any* (including oranges) sim in it.

is it the same for T-Mobile? Had a HTC TYTN and now a T-Mobile Vario III and prefer to have the HTC rom because I cannot get the Windos live to auto sync / as messages arrive post a SR ever
Cheers

Your fine to upgrade as long as you don't touch the radio portion of the Rom.
HardSPL your phone, then decompile the HTC rom and create a new rom using only the OS portion. then install using Pofs custome RUU installer.
Cheers
I held back on changing my Orange UK ROM for the same sim-lock reasons. However I simply used HardSPL first & then flashed my phone with the Sleuth ROM as it doesn't touch the radio & therefore bypasses the sim-lock issue.
Am now very happy and de-oranged.

Apologies in advances for the noobness of this question. I have an Orange Tytn II and would like to use it on O2. I've been using the phone for calls, so it's unlocked. I've got Internet settings for the O2 Stellar from O2 and entered them but it still won't connect making it rather useless to me.
From reading it seems to by because the radio is locked to Orange? CID locked? is that right?
I've successfully run the HardSPL, which I understand will now enable me to install other ROMs. What I'm not clear on is if I do this if I will permanently SIMlock the Orange phone or if the HardSPL gets round this problem and I'll be safe to put on another ROM and so letting me get online and 'deOrangig the phone'.
I've read that I can put on a ROM as long as it doens't touch the radio. But does this releveant only if you want to stay on Orange? Will it let you use another network SIM? And which ROM would that be anyway.
Bit confused as you can see. Any help appreciated.

How Can I Improve My Orange HTC TYTN2

Hi,
I have just had my Orange Branded HTC TYTN 2 arrive (Think that its called the Kaiser) and I am looking at getting rid of all the horrible Orange branding stuff as its slows the phone right down and just looks ugly. Now, what I flashed the utility on my device (cant remeber the name but its the file that is needed before any flash is done is that helps) so now what do I do? I have downloaded the HTC rom but that is way below the version that is on my phone already (1.81) so that is where I am .. is there anything that I can do?
Thanks
Scott

If you feel brave, you can dump your current ROM, use the kitchen, strip it down, and flash it back. Also, just because the ROM version is lower does not mean the ROM is inferior. HTC ROM worked great for me but I moved to helmic's custom ROM because it was more stripped down.

When does it ask you for an unlock code?
unlocking code
afer it have booted up and installed all the custom software,
its saying the following
SIM Lock
Network is locked. please input your unlocking code.
what do you think?
Thanks
You have sim-locked the phone. With the Orange phones you are only supposed to flash the OS ROM. Flashing the radio ROM results in sim locking the phone so even your Orange sim card won't work. Lucky for you apparently you can get it unlocked by paying one of the guys on here £25. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=314547&highlight=orange+sim+lock
go here http://www.imei-check.co.uk/kaiser-unlock.php I have used them before with no problems . You don't have to wait 3 weeks and it costs the same
Or as the advice above , this forum is littered with threads on problems flashing Orange phones , shame someone did not advise you of this . Still get it unlocked and you are free from all that Orange Cr*p and its Network lock

You should have read the sticky's on top of this forum first. Then you would have known you need to run Hard SPL first. I've done the same and have no problems with my rom.
You could still try flashing it with hard SPL and then again flash with a rom of your taste, but I can't garantuee it will work...

ROM Flash - after SIM/CID unlock (IMEI-Check)

Just bought a cheap recon Orange E650 and now waiting for my code from IMEI-Check to SIM/CID unlock.
Forgive me for being a n00b but most of the flash guides assume that your phone is locked (therefore run a CID bypass etc).
Can anyone tell me which steps of the flash process I can avoid once I have unlocked the phone?
I wish to get rid of the Orange ROM and put on either the HTC original or Gonzo 6.1 ROM but want to avoid extra steps to reduce any chances of f**k ups
there are no steps which you can avoid.
SIM/CID unlock just make your phone able to use other sims.
But it will be still application locked and 3rd party rom locked.
so you have to follow the entire guide starting with the USPL.

I did exactly the same as you matey. Bought a cheap 650 and put an HTC ROM on it. Now i've got tomtom V6 on it (after a few slight probs!) but all in all, vey happy.
Just follow this link as i did but read it carefully ESPECIALLY the bit about copying file twards the end (FLASH SECTION, NUMBER 14). In all honesty, what you are sat waiting for to arrive isn't worth a toss. Just follow this thing as i did and you'll be cool
Steve
Official HTC ROM on
Got my file from IMEI-Check through & successfully unlocked the SIM/CID.
Now able to use Orange E650 with my O2 SIM
Took a gamble and downloaded the latest HTC ROM from the forum FTP site - wanted to test - if the phone is now CID unlocked then the ROM should work coz the ROM installer will think it is a HTC S710 not E650.
Ran the ROM upgrade took about 5-6 minutes to flash.
Phone then reboots - word of warning - it then takes about 5 minutes for the ROM to configure.
Don't panic like I did - staring at the Windows Mobile splash thinking I had bricked it! :-D
Now a de-branded E650 - did not have to run any USPL stuff etc.
However I am sure if I want to use a cooked ROM then I'll definitely follow all of the steps.
Phone is now quicker & no horrible Orange icons
Nice simple process - just hope HTC release the WM 6.1 upgrade for the Vox.
we all hope for the same....

(Q)Unsign genuine htc roms

Hi guys
This might sound like a stupid question.
How does a genuine Htc rom know that it can't be flashed to a network version of the same device. I take it its done with the spl that's why we have hardspl.
But is there a way to unsign a htc HTC rom to make it flash to a network version of the device without getting invalid vendor id.
Could it be stripped out and reset with the id needed?
i know if i understood right but according you lets take an example of a hd2 and htc diamond, so are you trying to flash a diamond rom on a hd2, or you want to flash different brand rom hd2 into your hd2, if thats the case then you need your phone to be security unlocked, Hard spl wont work
What I would like to do is flash a o2uk HD7 with the HTC euro rom and as there is no hardspl or cid unlock it makes it hard.
But I was thinking there must be a way to change the euro rom id to think it can be flashed.
