Looking for some direction... Read HELP! - XV6700, PPC-6700 ROM Development

Ok, so about a week ago I had a co-worker help me flash my VZW XV6700 with the kitchen. All WAS well until this afternoon. I got the data call error. I said ok I reset the phone and ever since then the phone will not get past the WM6 splash screen. I can't think of anything I did out of the ordinary today before I left my house I synced my contacts and was even on the phone 5 minutes before I reset it.
I have been reseting it for hours now and nothing. I am not home and can not re-flash it at the moment so I was hoping to find a software solution in the mean time so I can make calls at least.
I've removed the battery
held the windows key+ok+reset
power+reset
and nothing has gotten me past the splash screen.
Any direction would be greatly appreciated!
thanks
DASH

nothing has gotten me past the splash screen.

have you tried re-flashing? I'm actually working in a makk and can take to to a VZW stand to have them look at it if need be.

Well with help from the WIKI
This worked to restore it to right after the flash.
* Hold both softkeys ( buttons with - on them to the left of the Windows key and on the Right of the OK button)
* push in using stylus as per a soft reset.
* a prompt will appear saying "Press Y to restore Factory Default Press N to exit"
* as per the prompt, on the slide out keyboard you press Y to hard reset and N to exit.
I then restored my contacts so I am happy again! Until the next time it happens.

XDA Atom hardware problem?

Hello mates, I got my atom last week and since then it gets stuck and hangs for some time until it loads again whenever I hit the reset button.
Even hard reset doesn't help and either not taking the battery out...just need to hit the reset again and again until it comes back on...
I'm currently running the leaked ROM 20062017B1WWE
just to mention the issue started even with the older ROM installed.
Please help!
Hi.
Where did you get this ROM?
I'm looking for this rom WWE_R060221N do you have it?
Your rom is older or newer then WWE_R060221N?
Can you place in Emule so I can download?
Thank YOu
Re.
Hi there. I have a similar problem with my Atom (leaked ROM of course). Somehow, hitting SR button just leaves the initial screen with O2 logo hanging. You have to hit SR button several times or take out battery to make Atom boot. But, SR with O2 plus application works OK. Actually, it may get worse after awile and even taking out battery may not help to boot Atom. I had to re-run ROM upgrading to make my Atom boot after SR, but still hitting SR button makes Atom freeze.
Seems like we've got the same
problem mate....I really think that's a hardware problem because I tried to do everything and it still get stuck and hangs on the startup screen after a soft reset is performed. Anyways I'm gonna take my Atom back to the place I've bought it so they can check it and hopefully change it to a brand new one (thats what I hope so...)
Let me know how did you handle with your own problem.
You sure you aren't too impatient? With my Atom it takes around one minute to soft reset. It has XCPUScalar installed, I'm suspecting that this is part of the reason. The O2 logo stays on for maybe 20 seconds, then the WM5 screen for 20 and finally the Scalar stays on for at least the same before I can punch in my pin code.
Re
Thanks for your response..
I don't think I'm impatient as you said because I keep waiting for the Atom to load for at least 2-3 mins after the SR button is pressed, once I even tried leaving it hangs on the o2 screen for a whole night and it was still stuck...anyways I really don't know what to do.
Any other comments would be appreciated.
Cheers.
P.S
I never installed XCPUScalar on this device and never touched the overclocking settings.
Then I would say harware problem, yes.
I have the same problem since I bought it. I resolved in this way:
If you want to soft reset your unit press on/off button and softreset at the same time, you will see the option for hard reset but don't affraid just leave it in this option don't press anything and your atom will soft reset itself with no problems.
hi eljure, i tried your suggest and it worked on the first time i pressed the power button + soft reset button together, but then again it got stuck and hang on the o2 screen after the 2nd try.....anyways i had to wait again for like almost 1 hour until it loeded up again and that after all the resets i've done while i was waiting for it to load, only a hard reset worked after that.
so I really don't know what the problem is but it's freaking me out.
the store I bought it from said only next week they gonna get a new stock of the Atom so i'm stuck with it until then.
I have similar problem..maybe the same..the phone just hangs at O2 logo. I tried to press and hold power button and press reset button then it asks to press send and end button reset to factory factory default..after I press both button, it says device clean boot...reset to factory default!!..how long do i have to wait for it to set to factory default? or which way is the right way to hard reset? Anyone knows how to repair this problem, please help

I have a similar problem where my O2 Atom will just switch off (go black) when I press the Soft Reset.
I do not get the O2 splash screen, and there is no response from any buttons or the power button. Even depressing the SR again does nothing. I have to remove and replace the battery to bring the unit back to life.
This has been happening since the phone was new (7 days ago).
ROM 20060123B1WWE.
Cheers,
Freedy.
I have the same trouble.
Hardware bug, obviously.

Suddenly I'm going extremely slowly... Help!

Ok, so far I've dumped the ROM and uploaded the kaiser-HardSPL and all was going lovely. However, after most of a day of pretty much inactivity I find the device suddenly goes very slowly. By which, I mean it can take several seconds to draw the screen.
Thinking this might be a rogue application using up all the processor cycles, I poked it up the bottom with the stick. (While doing this the first time, I held in power and camera just to see the boot loader text, but then I did it again with no buttons held.) It's a Vodafone device but it sat on the Vodafone splash screen for about 2-3 minutes then spent longer than that on the Windows Mobile screen before eventually dropping me into normality.
Except it's incredibly slow normality - I clicked on "start" and after a minute, it's not done anything yet.
Next step is a hard reset unless anyone has any better suggestion?
Help!
I assume you've pulled the battery?
Never assume anything... The full answer is, "No, but I have now"... I'm not sure that's going to do anything more than a soft (poke up the bottom) reset though. I'm now just waiting for the splash screen to subside while I'm typing this.
Having left it half an hour, while it went into standby and after noticing that the clock had stopped updating, I'm of the opinion that the already slow device has got slower...
Ok between 1 and 2 minutes to move from the splash screen to the "Windows Mobile" screen.
Now there's a turn up... After a further minute or so, I get a message, which has now cleared and gone back to the "Windows Mobile" screen before I had chance to copy it here. Basically it said that it had failed to boot either because I'd turned it off improperly or I'd installed something that it was opposed to. I should press send (I guess the green button) to reset to manufacturer's defaults.
Since that's my next stage anyway, I'll re-poke it with the pointy stick and press 'send' when it pops the message up. I'll put my trusty old Nokia N73 into flight mode and take a picture of the message so I can transcribe it here for everyone's amusement.
More news as it breaks.
I've now hit the 'send' button so it's doing a hard-reset. Meanwhile, here's the text it showed me:
Code:
The device is unable to boot be-
cause either you have turned off
the device incorrectly or tried to
install an application from untrusted
source. Press SEND to reset your
device or press any other button
to cancel. This operation will delete
all your personal data and restore
the device to its factory default
settings.
Nice. Ok, I'm at the 'tap the screen to set up your device' screen now.
Wonder what triggered all that nonsense then...
If you're like the rest of us and tooling around the all the fun programs in this forum, there's no telling.
I tell folks on computers, "Every piece of software you put on a machine is a liability to the operation of that machine." We can say that applies to this nifty little devices too.
I've had my phone experience the same symptoms you have posted here. Luckly for me a battery pull fixed mine. Sounds like the luck didn't spread much. Sorry.
Keep at it though. And don't fret the crashes. They do happen from time to time when you play hard.
So, a hard reset and a restore of a backup (Yes, I made a backup a few days ago even though I've been in the trade 20 years!) later, I'm back to normality. All I've done that's weird is install pof's loader and I can't see that's anything to do with it. What I was doing at the time of the slowdown was trying to connect to the wifi network at work. I thought the networking had just got itself tied in knots somehow but as the machine was even mega slow to boot, I can't really see that. At least I can still get back to square one at the moment.
I just need to create a .nbh out of the rom parts I dumped yesterday so that I can recover from anything more major...
Meanwhile, if you do a 'boot loader reset', would you expect it to say 'serial' if the USB isn't plugged in?
I'm starting to wonder if there is a major bug in the WiFi of the Tilt. There are some other threads on AT&T's site about this, and my work with WiFi on this unit has been dicey. Hmmmmm...

Touch Pro will not Hard reset!

I started haveing issue with the device last night, the phone app was locking the phone up, i tried restoring from my sprite, but it didnt work.
I got it to a point where it workied, but for some reason it lost all my contacts and email settings.
Well I said screw it, ill just hard reset and start from scratch, after a soft reset, it hung on the "Touch Pro" screen withthe red text at the bottom, then just sits there.
If I hard boot it does the same thing.
any ideas?
go into bootloader and then flash a new ROM there.
Hold Volume down and reset. You will go to bootloader. Plug in USB and flash from there. No need to sd flash.
it will not go past the touch pro screen, still sitting like that now. I cannot even turn it off, just reset it and get back to the same spot.
did you take out the battery for a time? but you do that on your own risk... for me that doesnt sound good ...

Yep, the best I have been able to get is plugging the phone in and getting it to constantly reset itself.
BRICKED!
New ohone in the mail, hope to have it tomorrow,
Now, do I use my old sprite back up from a week or so ago, or start from scratch?
BD
best is to begin new, but for me that would take 1,5 days cause i know nothinh about UC; thats why i restore my spb backup... with differen Romeos version i had never problems ... take the rom upgrade mode...

Once I get to the bootloader screen, how do I flash the rom?
What is the latest stock rom and what is best link to download?
I finally got to the hard reset warning screen. It says press "send" to reset. Everywhere else (including manual) it says to press "volume up". Anway, I pressed and released "send" but nothing happens. It seems frozen on teh warning screen. Or does it take a few minutes to hard reset.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!
Did you tried the method with settings => system => "Speicher löschen" ( in german; "eraze memory" or something like that in english) => input 1234??

I sent mine back, it did nothing.
hard reset
i had to hard reset my htc touch pro as well because i unistalled a program and it wiped out like half the stock programs. this is what i did....
1). make sure you back everything up that you have on your phone.
2). shut off your phone
3). hold the volume down button and the enter button at the same time. (enter button is the big cirle center button)
4). while holding those two buttons in, press and hold the power button on the top until the popup appears on the screen. then just follow the steps and your phone should be like brand new again!!
Funny thing I did it the first time and it worked like a charm. But now i'm having trouble in doing it again?? any suggestions?? anyone???

Daxian X999 / T32 hard reset help needed

I'm not sure how many people, if any, have experience with this phone, but I'm taking a shot in the dark because I am completely out of options here. The phone is similar to the Cect M88, and the other Cect iPhone-clones available, although I'm not sure how similar the button layout is.
I installed PCM Keyboard last night, and all was working fine until this afternoon, when all of a sudden, my phone wouldn't wake up. I ended up having to pull the battery in order to get it to restart, but then it wouldn't boot past the Windows Mobile screen (the first one - didn't even make it to the second screen).
After several attempts to hard reset (top volume button + camera button + power button), I was able to get it reset, but even though active sync was running, folders weren't showing up properly on the phone itself. I did a soft reset, and folders then showed up, but this time active sync wouldn't load on the phone. Several more soft resets did nothing, but I kept trying, and finally... the phone froze up again to the point where it hung on the Windows Mobile screen again. Now, despite all attempts, I can't even get it to hard reset. When I push all buttons from an off state, the screen will turn blue (which seems to indicate some kind of resetting is going on since it normally goes straight to the WM screen) and then a few seconds later, the Windows Mobile screen will come up and hang. I've tried every combination of buttons possible, and I've tried hard resetting probably a good 20-30 times since this happened. I've removed the SIM card, removed the SD card... I've basically tried hard resetting seemingly every way possible, and yet it still will not reset and load up WM 6.0 pro like it should.
Any ideas on how I can get this thing to at least move past the WM screen? If I'm totally unable to hard reset, what would be the next best course of action? Since this is an off-brand phone with no support or any kind of warranty, are there repair places out there that can restore the OS? Is that something I can do myself? (Phone didn't come with any software or anything.) I'm at a loss here... I really don't want to end up with a $200 blue flashlight/paperweight. I know I took my chances when I bought it, but well... this stinks.
worked
hey man i know its old and hopefully you still have your phone.. ok what you need to do is let the phone die completely so you may have to keep the blue screen on and keep turning it on till your phone does this like you i have hard reseted serveral time to no avail but when the phone died i took out the battery plugged it in to the wall charger placed the battery in the phone let the red led light by the camera light up then i turned it on and before the screen could show the splash i did the hard reset phone is aye ok !! hope this helps man.. your post helped me..

XDA Orbit 2 Help Needed.

i attempted to run the .cab file for battery status, and when i did that it started installing then suddenly froze, then upon resetting the phone using the button on the bottom, it loads to the today screen as it were, and then freezes and will not respond atall, i know it isnt a fault with the touch screen as i have to enter my PIN before it gets to the today screen.
i am new to this so do a "dummies" guide as it was any help will be gratefully recieved.
Richard
Um i have a feeling that you may have a little problem here.
I dont know a brilliant fix for this other than to say to do a hard reset. BUT this well restore it to defult, factory settings as when you got it. So back up your phone of anything important before you do it.
To do it hold down the start and ok buttons and press the reset button. Wait for it to bring up the screen saying 'to restore press send'.
I cannot think of a reason but if its crashing i would think that it would be having problems with loading the files for today so i would guess that on the grounds that the install didnt finish it has, unfortunately corrupted some files.
ahh thanks, got it sorted now
