Disable speakerphone programatically? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

Anyone know how to do this? I would like to be able to do this instantly from a shortcut or script. Thanks.

Bump... Anyone?

A great man comes to the rescue (i don't mean me, i mean ViJay):

Thanks a lot RPG0. Unfortunately that software only works on WM5. Also, that's just one of the features of the software - I was actually hoping to have an EXE or something to toggle speakerphone on/off, or figure out how to do that. Thanks again though.

Hmm, I know you can put a button on the today screen with PhoneAlarm for that.

Did you try it? I think it says WM5 only as is WM5 or newer. The system didn't change so much from WM5 to WM6... And it does give you a link (i was using it for callhistory)... Just try it.

One of the built-in settings in AE Button Plus allows you to map that functionality to any button you want.

There's a new version of VJVolubilis lying on my harddrive somewhere that does this (written literally years ago!), but for now, go with AEButtonPlus.

Thanks guys! That worked great. One last question - what about disabling the phone's external speaker altogether?

Phone Dialer Replacement

I was wondering if anyone knows of a replacement phone dialer. I want something with bigger buttons if possible.
Thanks
Try PhonePlus.
It is great for simply dialing and for using phone numbers from your contacts as well as for sending SMS.
Sascha
Thanks for that, I'll download the trial and give it a go.
Cheers
Large Mute Button
Anybody know of a replacement dialer with a large 'mute' button? I need this for when I'm using the phone in the car. Thanks in advance.
Yes PhonePlus is great but only if it worked in Landscape mode would have been even better.
Kind Regards
Thanks for the tip, but I tried Phoneplus and the mute icon is still very small at the bottom of the screen. Is there a way of making it larger, or assigning a hardware button?
Try this one:
http://vitotechnology.com/en/products/quickcontact.html
You can call contacts using Touchpad/Joystick with it.
phoneplus is really great.
www.mesoftware.biz
also they have released a new software called ezdial but it is not yet on their site:
http://www.handango.com/PlatformPro...latformId=2&N=96806&productId=174887&R=174887
phoneplus is a great software, havent tried yet ezdial but it seems to be even better.
I had phoneplus installed for about 1 month and yes is miles better than dialler. Sadly during this time my unit locked on average once a day (normaly when trying to activate phoneplus) needing soft reset, I uninstalled the few apps I had until phoneplus was the only thing remaining, took that off approx 1 week ago and since then not one reset required!
but
Does anyone know why? Is it poss to uninstall the default dialer and does this help?
For now I stuggle on with Dialler, at least my unit works when I need to use it.
this might have been discussed before so apologies in advance. any way to skin the white area for the phone dialpad? i know it's been done with wm2005 but i was wondering if this can also be accomplished for 2003se. or would anyone know the "gif file name" of the white background? instead of having a custom pic for the dialers i was hoping you can fill the whole screen with an image you want..
cheers

Can anyone help...REALLY ANNOYING Crossbow WM6 prob

Hi there,
Installed the Crossbow version of WM6. It's really good apart from a few annoying probs.
- My backlight button doesn't work! So I can only turn on the phone using the 'POWER' button. VERY annoying!! Anyone know how this can be reprogrammed?
- When sending a SMS Text, the 'NEW' button has gone and now is replaced by the 'DELETE' short cut. This means that it more clicks to send a SMS. Again a bit annoying.
Any ideas how I can get passed these problems??

Not sure on your backlight issue as have not used that particualr rom.
Is there not an option to remap the buttons in settings?
As far as SMS issue, if you go to contacts, you can simply right click on a contact to send a new SMS, or if you are in messaging it's just one extra click, menu, new.
You can always install the "New Menu for WM5" applet which will replace your
calendar and give you the functionality you had in WM5, new note sms etc.
A simple search on the forums should bring up the cab for you.
Hope this helps
Regards
Beast
Thanks for that. I will have a look.
The 'NEW' button just meant I could create a text really quickly without tapping too many buttons. I know its only one extra click but its annoying
Also it means I might delete texts by mistake!

I use this app and think it really transforms WM6. Very useful, takes up no system resources significantly and is customisable (I have it as the left option button in the today screen, with new SMS, new Word doc, new contact, and a couple others).
Recommended.
OK will search for it

could be a nice replacement for the now defunct videocall button..
but i think this is a really annoying problem, which by the way is not affecting everyone as far as I can see..it must be solved since these solutions are a good replacemente, but that's it, a replacement...are there any ideas about the origin of this issue?

yes i has the same problem not just with wm6 but also after i had downgraded my jasjar to wm5.0 latest rom so what i did was i searched and downloaded a program called button mapper or map or somthing like that or better yet if youve got the SPB pocket program it will allow you to reconfigure your hardware button for Backlight to switch to " Screen toggle" otherwise this function is not usually available to reconfigure.

Fair play.
I did try and search but found F-All. I'd like to see your search string that brings up this finding. I am not going to spend my whole day searching
Anyway the other problem still exists re: New Button
But thanks for helping regarding the backlight button, I can confirm it NOW WORKS!

I do not have any problems since i don't even have wm6, I was just wondering about the origin (not solution) of this problem another user had and begging for the expert to solve those annoying bugs; moreover I suggested a small and personal solution for his problem, so it's not my task to search for something I don't even need. please next time read carefully before reproaching who is not involved in the fact!
Moreover, I think I'll have a prize for having used since the first time the function "search", one of the few, and having always begged for pardon when many pointless researches obliged me to post about a topic already discussed

A lil work around to allow the video call button to be used to create a new SMS message.
I was going to tell you to use the search function too, and show you how my search for "new sms" or "sms" brings up that result...but when I tried using those terms it brought up nothing?!? Searching for "softkey" does bring up my post. Maybe you have to enter words with more than 3 characters for the search to work, which is a bit annoying!
Either way, hopefully the link provided will be of use...

Disable volume buttons when device is locked

does anyone know how to disable the volume buttons when the device is locked? this seems somewhat obvious, im not sure why the volume buttons are not disabled...
im using the at&t rom that came on the phone
http://www.ppcmobility.com/forums/showthread.php?t=381
this is supposed to work but it did not for at least one person...
didnt work for me, weird tho how this is such a simple requested feature, and HTC choose to not get it sorted out.
The whole point of the lock, is to disable all keys...surely??
dont know how many times ive put the TP in its case, only to pull it out, and see its almost silnt, as the volume buttons have been triggered.
shoddy....

If you dont mind switching app for locking, TouchLock Pro 2.0 does a great job for me...

I've got a stock HTC ROM (v1.90.00.00) and when it's asleep it doesn't respond to the volume buttons.
Cheers,
Steve.
For some reason I thought I posted this before, but a quick search doesn't find it, so I must have forgotten..
To enable the behavior you desire:
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd]
"DisableVolumeKeyDuringLock"=dword:1

Noob question here. I could not find this in reg editor... Do I have to create this as new code in HKCU\ControlPanel\keybd?
Yes, the key is not there by default, you have to create it
New dword.. DisableVolumeKeyDuringLock.. value 1.. hex or decimal doesn't matter as 1 is the same in either
I could just make a .cab.. 1 sec
Thar she blows!
Thanks! I will try the cab after I try to do it in reg edit. Kinda new at this stuff, so I am trying stuff out. The cab will be the back-up if I fail...
Tried this cabfile in my O2 Orbit II but no joy with it.
It'll only work if your keypad.dll looks for this key, the only one I know for sure does is the HTC Fuze, since that's the one I disassembled to find the key

Oh okay, that explains why it's not working on my Touch Pro.. Anyone know the equivalent solution for a Touch Pro that's not a Fuze? >_>
If you could post your keypad.dll I can take a look at it..
this would be really handy to have, saves havin to install more software to attempt to stop it, a simple reg file is waaay better

hello people.i have the same problem with my htc p3470. i ll try the cab file and return to inform u
edit: no luck unfortunately....this is really annoying..
Works for me. Have the elite rc3 rom. Just had to soft reset after applying the reg edit for it to work. Thanx a million
Thx man it worked using the cab file
My phone is
1.90.405.1 WWE
1.0225.19
52.33.25.17u
Just installed the CAB on my TP - after turning the phone off and back on it works.
TP( ex vodafone)
ROM 5.05.405.1 WWE
Radio 1.11.25.01
Protocol 52.58.25.30U
i experienced this on my TouchPro as well - i ended up flashing other roms to it which made the problem go away.
the fact that this occurred out-of-the-box left a nasty taste in my mouth tbh smelt like the whole stock rom was a half-arsed rush job thank god for the likes of NRG.

Automatic bluetooth on when on external power

Wouldnt it be great if bluetooth turned on automattically when I put the phone in the car holder(with charge function), and when i pull it out bluetooth turns off.
I Know that Phone alarm can do the trick but i don't need all the extra things that come with phone alarm, it only messes things up.
Is there a simple cab file around who enables this function?
Or if there isnt, could someone make such a cab file? I know a lot of guys who would love to have this working.
I would like it!
i am using phonealarm which also supports this function. Find it at www.pocketmax.net
I know i used it also but it is overkill if i only want to use it for the bluetooth function.
forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3367344
I installed it, reset my phone but it does not work.
Is this one especially for the hd2?
Oh boy would I like this! It's such an simple and usefull thing, and yet there still is no cab for it.
I'm not a developer, but it seems easy: power on = BT on, power off = BT off. It should be a matter of finding the right trigger for power on, and then combine it with the bluetooth-toggle cab found elsewhere. (See attached)
Who can help!
ps: it's for a HD2, so post mentioned above (bluepower) doesn't work indeed. Probably because of the other BT protocol used.
ps2: the attached Touch X Bluetooth Toggle.cab DOES work on HD2, but manually. If this cab can be changed to toggle BT on power-status in stead of manual input we'd have what we want.
ps3: phonealarm does know how to do the trick, but it's not flawless, and surely overkill. BUT.... the right trigger (powerstatus-on, powerstatus-off) should be in it somewhere... who can find it, and convert the attached BT toggle with it to the wanted function?
would be a nice one to have indeed, hope someone can help!

Yeah, as per the thread I started on a similar subject, I want to do this stuff but like others, Phonealarm is a little bit OTT for what I need, and g-profile just simply doesn't seem to work for some reason.
I set up a bunch of profiles but when you change (either manual or auto) the stuff you set up for the profiles in question just doesn't seem to happen. Hoping I'm just doing something wrong!

Sorry, but the logic is flawed. Some times the user may have BT on when not charging, then start charging. It would be bad to disconnect bt when he or she did not want to charge any more.
I'd do it like this: power on, save bt status, turn on bt regardless of previous state. power off, turn bt to same state as saved. You could possibly ask the user if he or she wanted to disconnect.
That would be an improved functionality indeed. But not needed for me (yet). I only use Bluetooth for connecting to my carkit. The rest of the day it's turned off. So for me power_on=BT_on and power_off=BT_off would be enough.
Your added function makes it even nicer though....
Nobody who can help us?
Bump,
wow this topic goes down fast.
hope someone will pick this up, it's a really good idea
and so simple.... it seems.
I really would like to have it too. I even provided the raw material with the working other programs, now all we need is a Winmo magician who can extract the needed elements, and brew it into a working cab...

How about this guys?

[Q] Music+Navigation

Hi,
I´ll try to make this short,
my intention is to hear music, while watching, but not listening to the Navigation (Igo (my way) 8.4.2.xx on Motorola Defy, but I didnt think this was important).
As I was seeing this for the last week or so, while I was trying to resolve the problem, I need to either
-Mute or turn down the volume on/in Igo
As I did´t see any options in or out of Igo for this, I quickly decided to look for an app, which could provide this kind of solution.
Sadly I found nothing
or
-Change the sound setting of either Igo or MixZing (which I´m using at the moment) to a different sound option (notification/system maybe)
Problem is, i don´t know if this is even possible, or how to do it, if it is.
I played a bit with Tasker, which has been recommended by someone on a forum for this purpose, but either I´m too stupid to get it to work, or it is the wrong app for my Problem.
Btw, feel free to delete this post, if it is in the wrong Forum, as I have saved it for reposting purposes. I tried to look for a more relevant one, but I think it´s all right here.
Thanks
Edit: I did not find any built-in option (Igo) for chaning the volume (except the mute button-volume button and the "you are driving too fast" mute button)
