Firmware Backup - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

Hi all,
is it possible to Backup my current installed German T-Mobile Firmware, so that i can test the AKU 7 Roms and "downgrade" back to the T-Mobile Firmware?
Kind Regards
Seppl

Assuming you have the Kaiser here's a thread on how to dump the ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334680
There's a sticky post regarding how to place the original rom on the device.

After dumping the ROM, you can reconstruct it for backup purpose reading this thread...

Help for a starter!

Hi guys, I am a new on ths forum and with te prophet. After using a hima for 3 years, I bought a prophet today. Since I was at wm2005 aku 3.5 with my hima, I cannot use my pim.vol any more with my current rom version, which is
Rom version 2.9.7.24 WWE
Rom date 2/9/2006
Radio 02.07.20
Protocol 413.1.03
Extrom 2.9.7.106
This is all new for me and I am hoping that someone could post me or PM me some advice on newer roms and how to upgrade. I also found a version with G3 or G4. What is the difference and what do I need to use.
This device works different, but it look very nice.
Can I re-use some of my old (hima) applications on this machine?
Thanks very much in advance. I hope to have as much pleasure on this forum as I had on the hima forum!
1. you can get some of the old apps working on wm5 devices, but not all of them.
2. check your device for G3-G4 issue here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=prophet_g3g4_how
3. good thing if you have time to read this: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Prophet
it will answer most of your questions on how to upgrade your ROM. read it three or four times: i'm not kidding - you may ruin your device if you miss something.
If I can hijack this thread for a second... is there any way to backup whatever ROM we have on a CID locked device? cause it seems kinda pointless to have to CID unlock the device (which involves FLASHING a completely new rom, overwriting the old), to open the backup feature at which point is useless since we've lost the original rom.

Click to collapse

why not? just download your original ROM from this site or official site of qtek, jamin or whatever your device is.
afaik you CID unlock the device to be able to flash different ROMs (for example, to flash jamin with qtek ROM) and to be able to return back to your original ROM.

Is it Possible to Restore the Original ROM version?

Hi everyone,
I am a little new to this stuff (upgrading) so I want to ask a simple question: Is it possible to restore the original ROM version - so to say "downgrade", after upgrade for example to AKU 2.3? I have a G4 O2 Xda Neo still with the Original ROM with AKU 2.0 .
Thanks in advance!
Yes, it will be possible if you dump your rom first. look wiki here.
Thanls for the reptly. The problem ist that it says - it will NOT work if it's NOT CID-unlocked! And as far as I know there is still no solution to unlocking a G4 Prophet . So the question ist can I restore the original Rome with the original branded RUU afer upgrading to some other ROM.

Question regarding backing up orginal ROM

Hi guys,
I'm kind of new to this all, I have searched the forums for my question but didn't find a good answer to my question.
Before I want to update/cook my ROM I want to make a backup of the current ROM (I like to have this in case I want to sell my Kaiser).
My HTC has the following rom:
ROM Version: 1.56.405.5
ROM Date: 08/28/07
Radio Version: 1.27.12.32
This is a standard HTC EN simlock free.
I did find a thread about making a dump of your PDA but when I try to run the tool it says something about not able to update a certain DLL. I tried the what was described in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334680
Your help is appreciated,
Regards Mace
things people miss about backing up and os rom is
that your rom is 100%

Thanks

The instructions for how to dump a ROM and then reconstruct it are on links within the Wiki:

I would strongly suggest you do a LOT of searching before you post questions like this. If the answer's out there, you'll be flamed to a burnt crisp. Alternatively, if you're asking a sensible question that hasn't been covered before, you'll be amazed how knowledgable and helpful everyone can be.

Question about HardSPL flashing. Noob here.

Hi all and I apologize if this is a common question.
I recently flashed my rom to G.DK series ROM and also Updated the Radio and HardSPL too.
I now want to reflash it back to original stock 6.1 WWE ROM but would the Hard SPL would be auto reverted back or do i need to change it as well ?
Thank you all in advance.
