Hi, Any one know how to sync CECT T689 with a PC? I got a software called PC Sync Manager, but when i connect, the phone says connected and the pc software says not connected! Any clue? Thanks in advance.

CECT T689 run a chip set call M6218 by MediaTek Inc (http://www.mtk.com.tw/) for this you need 2 things, one is the 6218 Modem Driver (COM Port) then the PC synchronization software.
you can only add one number to a name with this system, do not take full details off your PC address book. and there are many more... but this is better then nothing right ?
FYI both softwares are from MediaTek, i have uploaded them both here.

Guys. As far as I can tell this thing isn't even a Windows Mobile device and if I'm not mistaken this forum is for Smartphone platform device discussion. Does this thing even run a Windows CE OS? Is it even very much of a "smart phone"? I'm not sure this topic is appropriate in this section of the forum. Try the general discussion board next time, maybe... Not sure, though. If this forum is also for "smart phones" as a generic term for PDA phones and feature phones with some PDA features, its a bit misleading to for a capital 'S' to be in the word Smartphone when that is how MS also spells the name of their Windows CE platform release, Smartphone... I doubt that is the case, though. ;-)

hi there i have a gaoxinqi CECT T689 Dual SIM Phone and i i have a problem with it , when i turn off my phone then it wont turn on..... i press and hold the on/off button but it wont turn on i have to leave it for several days without trying to turn it on (sometimes more than a week) then it turns on i wanted to restore it to factory settings but it asks for a password.
anyone has an idea how to fix this problem or at least the password (of course if all these phones have the same password for factory settings reset

Without this USB driver the PC SYNC manager can't work. Also here I found the new PC sync manager and this work to my CECT 958 phone.

A big problem

I have a cect 689 and i`ve got a big problem with him.
I have enter the password for restore the factory settings(1122)then the phone was restarted and a white screen with tranditional chinese language appears . After that i can`t do anything else to the phone...
What i can do ?
Please if somebody know the problem help me !

Only thing I can think of is Adeona (linux, mac, xp/vista). It uses ip addresses so it's quite stealthy and the mac version can also take snapshots using isight.

Am a newbie here. I bought dis phone (s710) few days back. I liked it very much. Now, as am new in using windows mobile platform, got small small doubts. I thought that all windows mobile can be called as pda's. But why this phone still comes under smartphone. And what is this VOX stands for. Is it S710, or a pseudo name. Sorry guys, am asking soo much, ryt..:x
And i was using a nokia java phone, and it has got cell info display (the network operator tower location, nearest place). Can i get it in on this... Now only the network operators name is there. And this 128MB ROM means the internal memory itslf ryt?
And, i saw about flashing the rom, many threads here. Is there anyway to back up the current one on my phone? Now its windows mobile 6 standard. I saw so many cool edits of wm here wid so many addon plugins etc. I would like to try it. but if something wrong happens in between...(thats y asked about back up of current rom, and restoring it...? is dis pakka rubbish que!! )

1) Vox is in smartphone category because it doesn't have touch screen.
2) HTC give their phones names. Therefore Vox. And its model number is S710.
3) About cell info, backuping, flashing and other, you should search this forums and wiki. You will find plenty answers.

I have very big problem, yesterday i instaled on phone my friend (i607 Black Jack) Windows Mobile 5 but for Samsung i600
On this moment i have a lot of problems, for example: now i cannot install again correct WM because my pc don't see phone, activesync doesn't work, i can not charge my phone because input in phone not function
I cannot do it nothing, actual instaled system is WM5 for i600 but a lot of programs have error etc etc
I need really our help because this is not my phone but my friend

am a new memeber here and had put a small querry on 710 for help.guess since it was a generic question as to how to start/where to start-most info is avl in various threads--however my problem is am new to the world of winmo and am not able to comprehend properly(pardon my ignorance pl!!).have purchased a vodafone vda v (aka htc s710 if i am not mistaken),unlocked with wm6 standard.Dear Sir you write a lot of posts here and bail out qutie a few troubled souls,hence asking for some help myself
1. can i upgrade to winmo6.5 straight away or does that jeopardise my warranty??would love to upgrade!. if yes how to go about it??my present config as displayed on phone is

2. when i try to do windows update it doesnt and volume is pretty low???
