I am not able to use the receiver with Autoroute 2004(pocket streets). The manual suggests that I ensure a virtual COM port is established before connecting the receiver, which I am not able to get around. I am lost and stuck with an expensive receiver. Can some help, please? ASAP
Daz, when you try to run the program does it give the option to choose your gps/com port?
no, nothing came up on the screen. Fortunately I have been able to resolve the problem. Need to disable to incoming beam option in connection setting
I currently have the same problem with rakaline 6031-x7 and tomtom navigator. I use to connect the gps reciever via blutooth manager as slave and then set it up in tomtom on my ipaq. now I can't find any options in bluetooth settings on my xda2. Any chance of a little help?
:?
gavcha, the xda2 is braindead where bluetooth is concerned, are you running the latest gps 2.09 from tomtom? If you are using that and it still isnt working, download towas patch, remove the gps from the bonding on your bluetooth, install towas patch, run tomtom wizard, gps manager in discoverable mode, add device in bt manager by choosing "new", choose the gps, ok everything, towas patch should then come up and give you the serial option, choose that. When finished go to tomtom gps, choose tomtom bluetooth and in the second drop down your gps should be available, choose that and it should work.
Cheers mate. me being the impatient ba£$%rd that I am found this site
http://bluetooth.i-networx.de/index_e.html
Very usefull, up and running in no time. Seems to be in the same vein as your suggestion. Thanks for all your help I am slowly getting use to this xda milarky! Finaly I can sell the Ipaq!!!!
Cheers again.
Good to know it works, when O2 release the update it should get better, by the way that link you posted has been a pain in the ass for me, I have clicked that link in numerous posts and NEVER been able to connect, I have the patch now but does anybody else have problems linking to the above link.?
yeah i had problems going back to it when i was checking it to put it in my last post. try googling xda2 bluetooth manager. thats what took me to another forum with the link to this. worth a try.
Previously i had TomTom3.0 with BTHTools and a Holux BT GR230 GPS
and it worked fine.
I recently upgraded to ROM 1.72.00 WWE so i no longer needed BTHTools and it still works fine.
EXCEPT : When the GPS receiver is not found (BT turned off or GPS off or out of range), TomTom freezes or slows down terribly. This didn't happened with my previous rom/BTHTools)
upgraded to TT Navigator 3.03 and TT GPS 3.03 but that didn't help.
I found others reporting the same problem in other threads,( see Kim71 in http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=3341&start=350 ) but this specific problem was lost in the mainstream of those threads.
anything usefull will be greatly appreciated
The only way I found to get over this was to deselect the gps in tomtom before closing down each time, it would then need selecting if you wish to use bluetooth gps. If this wasnt done and bluetooth gps was switched off when starting tomtom the pda would slow to a crawl, I know it isnt a perfect fix but seemed to work ok for me.
the problem is you have selected the wrong com port in the gps setting (i have 3 to choose from on mine!) first uncheck the box on the left. then drop the menu and select 'bluetooth gps'. Then turn on the receiver and the check the box again
that should sort it.

Right now i have NMEA 0183V2 Bluetooth / COM5:
Tried to uncheck : OK
Tried choosing Bluetooth GPS : OK
Tried to check : NOK it simply will not check :?
is the reciever switched on?
As I have posted earlier in other threads and other sites, I have the exact same issue.
However there seem to be people that have got it to work without any extras installed.
Only port to get TomTom to work with my DConnex DC-230 (=rebadged Holux GR-230) is COM5.
I cant tick the blue box with 'Bluetooth GPS' in the lower combo=box.
To get by for now by I digged into the registry.
I created 2 CAB's that do the following:
Set the registry value of TomTom GPS to enabled or disabled.
By starting one of these CAB's I can easily enable of disable the GPS. Would be nice to have a Today Plugin that toggles the TomTom GPS Enabled value (any volunteers???)
BUT I see this solution only as a work-around.
The solution MUST be in selecting 'Bluetooth GPS' instead of 'COM5'.
The task is to find out on how to achieve that.
Any help appreciated.
Hi
i still have rom 1.66.00wwe. and BTTools installed
i run the latest tt gps v3.3 (?) and a fortuna bt clipon.
I can check the box with 'bluetooth gps' without any problems.
You might want to visit www.pocketgps.co.uk
The forums are excellant
i hope this is of use

Pilgrim,
I allready noticed the excellent forums on pocketgps.co.uk, but until now I only got the advise to select Bluetooth GPS instead of COM5. And that is just what is not possible with my 1.72 rom . . .
 Like I said: any suggestions are more than welcom, as is an offer to creat a small program (Today plugin!) that toggles the Enabled registry value of TomTom GPS.
If anyone wants to write that pgm, he might consider simultaneously turning bluetooth on / off.
State 1 : Bluetooth on / TT GPS enabled
State 2 : Bluetooth off / TT GPS Disabled
even better: Make that configurable (via registry setting or whatever lean & mean) for both states
I have been investigating this annoying issue with "ronald2oo2".
He does not have any issues like we do with his 1.72.00WWE ROM.
We did notice some interesting differences between his and my device-behaviour. Also the registry settings between him and me are quite different.
The biggest difference between the two devices is the origin of the OS rom. He uses the iMate based rom, I use the Qtek based rom.
Could anyone with 1.72.00WWE OS ROM, BT GPS and TT3 please post:
1. If (s)he has the possibility of checking the blue--ish box in TomTom GPS when the post is set to 'Bluetooth GPS': YES / NO and with what protocol (NMEA, SiRF, GPS specific)
2. What the origin of the 1.72.00WWE (OS!) rom is: QTEK, IMATE, T_MOBILE beta, . ....
I experienced the same problem for several months now and hoped that it would dissapear when I upgraded to TT3.07 and TT GPS 3.07 but it still didn't work.
Then I came across this post and started playing myself with these settings and found a solution. I can now use TomTom Navigator 3.07 with a bluetooth connection with my Rikaline 6030 GPS receiver
I have a Qtek 2020 with 1.72.00WWE OS ROM and Rikaline 6030 BT GPS and TT3.07
I was able to check the blue-ish checkbox with Bluetooth GPS setting after choosing 'NMEA 0183v2 Bluetooth' in the drop down list above 'Bluetooth GPS' and after unchecking 'Outbound COM port: COM5' in my Bleutooth Settings (Start -> Settings -> System).
I hope I am helping a lot of people who have the same problem as I did for months and didn't find a solution for it.
Cheers,
Gino
The sentence: 'I can now use TomTom Navigator 3.07 with a bluetooth connection with my Rikaline 6030 GPS receiver' should read 'I can now use TomTom Navigator 3.07 with a bluetooth connection without my Rikaline 6030 GPS receiver'
Or without bluetooth turned on at all. Sorry for the confusion. Must be getting tired
Gino
Did you have to delete the existing bonds?
Because i tried your solution and it still won't let me choose "Bluetooth GPS". Am i doing something wrong? or is it some else different between our xdaII?
I don't know exactly where the bluetooth drivers come from. Can you check if you have OEM_WWE_04071402.sa.CAB in your ExtROM?
or another OEM_WWE_04???????.sa.CAB.
No I didn't have to remove the existing bond(s). I just first unchecked the Outbound COM5 setting in Bluetooth settings, then I removed the checkmark in the GPS Settings so I could select the NMEA 0183v2 Bluetooth option and then I selected Bluetooth GPS. Checked the check box again and closed all open windows and everything was working fine with or without bluetooth/GPS receiver .
Regarding your other question, where can I find this info about the OEM_WWE_04??????.sa.CAB file. I remember looking in the extROM but I forgot where to find it. I'll do a quick search to see if I can find it again.
Cheers,
Gino
you have to install extendedromunlocker
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=8422&highlight=extendedromunlocker
and then unhide it, and then you would be able to see what's in there.
I also have OEM_WWE_04071402.sa.CAB in my ExtROM. I remember that my Bluetooth connection was not turned on when I tried to change the settings.

I have Radio version 1.14.00. Is this different from your version? I see that in your profile you pur 1.12.00 but I have noticed that 1.14.00 is not available.
I allready heard from 'ronald2oo2' that he is able to choose the Bluetooth GPS 'port' in TomTom GPS. I went thru all the options with him but still I cant select the 'Bluetooth GPS'. Also TomTom could not provide me with an answer, they eventualy offered to test my MDAII, but thats not an option since I rely on my MDAII.
BUT: I ams till using TomTom GPS 3.03. I will try the update tomorrow since maybe this version has some changes specific for Himalaya . . .
I have a T-Mobile SDA running the WM6 Perfect English ROM and I can't get the BT DUN hack to work. I installed the .cab file for the BT DUN hack and soft reset. When I pair it with my other cell phone (VZW Nokia 6315i), I don't have an option for the Dial Up Networking service. I was able to BT DUN with my old Blue Angel (VZW XV6600) and with my laptop on the 6315i.
Anybody able to get the hack to work on their SDA? If so, any suggestions on what I'm missing.
Thanks

Did you first SDA Application Unlock your phone? Make sure the devices are paired! The options or bluetooth dialup setup should be on the PDA or laptop, but see if you have a dialup option on the SDA, if not still it should work. Another thing make sure you install the bluetooth Dun.cab from my thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=340762 ..............!
My SDA is application unlocked. Unlocked it before I did the WM6 ROM upgrade. I had the BT dun hack .cab already installed. I uninstalled it and installed yours instead. Same thing is happening. No services are listed after pairing.
I paired the SDA with my laptop and the laptop is giving me the option for DUN as listed services. Essentially, I want my SDA to BT DUN with my 6315i. Is this even possible?
No Way!

The Two cell phones will not pair via bluetooth Dun Dial-up, but you should be able to pair each cell phone to your laptop via bluetooth Dun dial-up. The phones act as the connection modem, the bluetooth Dun dial-up connection setup options will always be on the device (laptop, PDA,ect) that you are trying to connect to the Internet. The phones do not have this option, because they will act as the modem!
That's unfortunate. My Blue Angel was able to BT DUN with my 6315i. You are saying this was only possible because the Blue Angel was a PDA phone. The BA did not originally have the DUN profile but a hack was devised from a PDA. Is there such a device like a smartphone without the phone hardware where a hack for the SDA can be devised?
Thanks for all the help and info.
I am running L26 Kaiser Diamond V6, which is running great, except that I cannot connect to my wireless router. I have other HTC devices which are connecting ok, whereas my kaiser detects the network but will not connect.
I have upgraded the Radio to 1.65.20.29 and installed MSVC 1.6 ontop of L26 Diamond V6.
I have downgraded the radio, but this does not make any difference ...

I have a similar problem in that I can connect, but only get access to the network if the WLAN power setting is on "Best Performance". Does that setting also not work for you?
If that doesn't help, then more info could be useful. Do you get an ip address assigned if you're set on auto (dhcp)?
My problem is the same.
Coming from a Dutty Rom, loading hardSPL 3.29 and then moving to Laurentius V8 with radio 1.58.25.17 I can't connect to my home wireless lan. As with other roms this connection problem never was an item, I thought perhaps a stubborn byte could be the culprit. So I did hard reset the Kaiser and reinstalled the V8 twice.
Settings on handheld 'Best Performance'. Even removed the security keys from the wlan. No result. Strange, because many people don't have the slightest problem with it.
I have changed the setting to best performance, but it makes no difference, HTC is set to dhcp, I will try fixed IP and see if that makes any difference.
I have got a result ( not ideal ), the wireless connection now connects, but only when the radio is switched of (Phone) within comm manager. From this I would say that the problem lies with the Radio ROM / CAB part of this ROM, maybe Larentius could look into it.... I will try someother Radio version to see it we can resolve this...

Experimented with that already: No difference here.
I have also noticed that, if the Phone is switched on within in Comm Manager once the wireless connection has connected, then it remains ON. If the W/L is switched off and on again it does not connect. I will test further and report back
Sthpnz, try it like this, cause its works for me :-
Switch OFF phone
Switch ON Bluetooth
Switch ON Wireless
Switch ON Phone
ALL three, above, stay ON, until your pda goes into standby and you lose Wifi again.
I am running L26 Kaiser Diamond V8 and am able to connect to wlan easy enough, however when i connect to another wlan and then try to reconnect to my home hub at a later date it asks me to re enter my network key, tries to connect and never actually suceeds. It seems to forget the network key i constantly and tries to randomly connect through gprs??? I managed to find a way to do it by soft reseting my phone, the kaiser would then find the network on its own and connect after the network key is entered. Why it does this i don't know. I find that the radio that comes with this rom is the best i've used yet, but maybe this is its one flaw?
oh by the way the radio i'm using is 1.58.25.17
I have downgraded my Radio to 1.64.08.21, which appears to work better, if I change WiFi to best performance. However, it is now causing a problem with MS voice Command, so I will uninstall and reinstall MSVC to if I can keep this radio and MSVC working.

@isek: nope, the wlan will not connect using this recipe. Thinking about downgrading the radio. Report back later.
I'm on wlan again!
Simply by going back to Dutty's April 26 Rom with fitting radio. No problems anymore.
So what is changed:
I had Laurentius V8 with radio 1.58.25.17 and HardSPL 3.29.
Now I have Dutty's April 29th lite rom with radio 1.65.14.06 and still HardSPL 3.29
I reflashed a few roms, some worked with WiFi but then failed with MSVC. After some more searching I came across L26 Diamond V5 which has voice command and a radio which gives me WiFi & VC (both Work together). I think that the newer ROMS which have Radios that work with Wifi for me failed on MSVC because of the version of MSVC it has to be 1.6.19213 and L26 diamond V5 has this built in.
Now I have to find a MSVC 1.6.192113 CAB and try on a newer ROM..

My euphoria was not long lasting. After the first up- and downloads the kaiser could not connect anymore with the wlan. Oh yes the signal is available and strong, but it will not connect.
The only option now is to change hardspl 3.19 for an older one. I'll try that later. Now my job waits.
After alot of messing around, I now have wifi working without any issues.
My original settings for my router were a hidden network, WPA2 PSK using TKIP, I have changed TKIP to AES and my kaiser connects much more quickly and most of the time. Will this help others ? i really don't know, however, I would strongly suggest changing settings on you router as it certainly helped me.
hey guys I had a problem with l26 v9 as well turns out it don't pick up certain wifi channels being 12,13,6,5, check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405737 for more info
I have installed pdanet on my BB9000 and have paired it with my gTablet but the tablet says "paired, but not connected." The goal is to share the data plan from the BB with the gTablet when Wi-Fi is not available.
Most of the solutions I have read are PC based (going into screens and settings I do not see on the tablet) or Android based (where the Android device is the phone with data access).
Is there an app that can install on the gTablet that allows for the pair to connect? Has anyone gotten the pairing to work with a Blackberry?
Sounds Familiar
That is the same thing I am trying to do, except my phone is a Samsung Jack (WM 6.5). I can tether my laptop so I know the phone will do it. Has anyone convinced the Tab to do this? I am using Vegan 5.1.1 with Clemsyn's latest kernel.
I hope this is still on subject:
I long to see the day when I can get a bluetooth keyboard to work. Any bluetooth keyboard.
The furthest I get is "Paired but not connected"
gTablet
TNT Lite v4.2.5
Same issue with 3g Slide and 2.1
Pairs just fine, but will not connect. Using PDAnet on the phone. Anyone know a work around? Other than rooting the phone that is? Not sure I am up for that challenge yet. I have TnT Lite 4.2.4 on my tab.
Ok. I had been chasing this for a while for a different reason. I use my Tab as GPS in the truck. Use either ShareGPS (to my DroidX) or an external BT GPS. I then use WiFI tethering to the DroidX for Data. This works fine except for when I get a call (I use a BT headset), the call is very very scratchy for a couple of minutes (interference between the wifi and the BT).
I wanted to use BT for data to eliminate the static on my headset when a call comes in.
I had all but given up on it, but today I ran across this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8236341&postcount=16
I followed his directs of setting up a Gscript script and it works!
Now, for some reason 'Wifi Tethering for Root' will not do BT tethering on my Droid X (will probably work fine for other phones) but PDANet does!
I can now share my GPS signal and Data Signal from my DroidX to the G-Tab and not have any interference on my BT headset when I get a call (yes the data connection drops while on call, but that's a CDMA issue).
I've been trying to get this to connect with my Blackberry since November, and have had no luck at all. I've kind of resigned myself to the fact that it's just not possible with a Blakberry running BOS 5.X.
I do not believe any of the kernels / any of the ROMs support DUN on bluetooth. Which is the primary reason for not connecting. I believe the current crop of kernels / ROMs only support audio, and gps out of the box for Bluetooth , I believe i read in the accessories sub forum that with some app mini bluetooth keyboard is working.

I have this working. I am doing bt dun throughvmy Dx
Im on tnt life 4.2.5
paired but not connected
If your BB is from AT&T they have the option turned off you need to tether your gtabelt to the BB.
If you do not have an AT&T BB you need to make a change to the config file on your blackberry desk top manager to activate it.
which code (and where)?
Z-B,
Which set of code did you use from your link, the first one or the second? Also, where do you insert the code?
I am on AT&T, but have already enabled USB tethering for my laptop so my issue should be isolated to the gTablet.
Ok, Here is what I did on mine:
On Phone:
Download PDANet and enable Bluetooth DUN (This should work with Wifi Tether for Root - But doesn't with my DX)
Pair G-Tab and Phone (I did the pairing from the G-Tab)
Download Gscript Lite.
Create a new script (Call it Bt Tether) - I does need SU access (there is a check box for this)
Put this in the script:
Code:
pand --connect <remote BT device hex address>
ifconfig bnep0 down
dhcpcd bnep0
setprop net.dns1 8.8.8.8
Don't know where to find BT HEX address on BB.
Note that this sets your route/connection at the underlying linux level. Android might still think you do not have a connection. I noticed this on a few apps (Voice Search was broken) I was able to browse the web & use Google Nav this way

Not sure but I believe we are saying thing. but that maybe my problem as I never did understand Zaphod!
GPS data, and Audio work, however true data (PAN - personal area network) does not work as far as I have found.
It does if you follow the above steps.
I just tried, followed the instructions, tracked down the bt address of my phone, put it in the script, turned off wifi on the tab, enabled the bt dun on the phone then -- nothing. The script returned the error "stderr: error:SIOCGIFFLAGS (no such device)". What did I do wrong?
Which rom are you on?
Vegan 5.1.1 with Clemsyn's latest kernel.
I am on TNT lite. It is possible that there is a system difference here, but unlikely.
While trying to diagnose this, I used Terminal emulator (or ADB Shell) and entered the commands from the script one at a time.
That should help you figure out which command is failing and we can look into why

I don't know much about the different Kernels. Its quite possible that some of the networking changes in Clemsyn's kernel changes the name of the BT adapter? Maybe it alters BT in other ways? I would suggest asking in his kernel thread.
Thanks I'll do that.
