WM6 SmartPhone experts: Need help with Q9 Outlook Key maps - Non-Touchscreen Windows Mobile Other

Hi folks - just went from the Treo 700wx WM5 device to Q9 Wm6 smartphone. I feel like i've lost quite a bit of control/customization ability. I'm really struggling with Outlook and sub folders navigation as I rely on folders to categorize mail on the server. Is there any way that I can map a shortcut /speed dial key to take me directly to the FOLDERS view of Outlook (Start -> Outlook -> Menu -> (6) Folders). The constant navigating to go between new messages in individual folders is killing me. Otherwise love everything else.
It seems Flexmail has a much better subfolder interface but i don't think it works well with Corporate exchange setups.

Messaging and Synchronize Microsoft Active Synch 4.1.

In the Version 5.0 Windows Mobile the system comes with three main folders – MMS – TEXT – OUTLOOK E MAIL. Each one has in turn subfolders such as sent mail, inbox, deletions and so on…
I have added two folders being PERSONAL and BUSINESS through my T-Mobile carrier, again coming standard with sent mail, inbox, deletion and so on...
When synchronizing the only folder that does so is OUTLOOK E-MAIL which is not a problem in itself. However, incoming wireless mail comes in under BUSINESS and PERSONAL accounts which is not a problem since a copy is sent to the regular computer that then synchronizes with the device every now and then.
The PROBLEM: When responding to mail that came in under the wireless scenarios (I.E.: into PERSONAL and BUSINESS Folders) there is no way to capture the sent mail except leaving it on the MDA itself. I would have thought it be possible to either synchronize it or move it into a separate folder on the MDA. There is a move function but this only allows you to move items within each Folder and not to other folders.

Please Help - Exporting information from PPC to Desktop Outlook

I'm pretty new to ppc's, so this may be a dumb question....
Recently the Outlook server at my office crashed and the guys at work had to format the whole thing. Now the Outlook on my desktop is basically empty, and I thought I could just sync my ppc and get all the contacts and calendar entries etc back to the desktop.
But when I tried, it says "there's been a change made on your server that requires you to re-synchronize all items on your device. You may lose changes made since your last successful synchronization. Support code: 8600050d"
If I click "Yes" to continue, it'll wipe everything from my ppc. I've already selected the option for "If there's a conflict: Replace item on desktop".
What can i do?
I'm using HTC Touch Dual, and running Windows XP....Thanks....
I've seen this error when there is a time difference between the PPC and Outlook, as a result of traveling. In your case, is probably due to the server crash. You can try deleting the AtiveSync partnership and then create a new one. AS will ask you to select which info to keep, i.e. Outlook -> PPC, Combine PPC and Outlook or PPC -> Outlook. Just select the PPC overwrites Outlook at that point. HOWEVER, I don't know how will it handle PPC emails in subfolders (that is, will it create the subfolder structure in Outlook?). So, just to be save, do a PIM backup on the PPC before you try anything. Good luck.
PS,
Also, your IT guys should have a kept a backup!!! Or at least, setup your Outlook to use a PST file on your computer to store the information.
Thank you very much, it worked after I deleted the ActiveSync partnerships.

WM6.1 Pocket Outlook & pop3 Gmail problems

Main issue is regarding current inbox mail being deleted upon next send/receive.
This is a well documented problem but is there any real solutions rather than workarounds.
My old WM2003SE had the download size option box with the header option which was a great way of overcoming this problem.
Now the wise Micro$osft engineers have removed the ability to set download size when opting for header setting in WM6.1 !
Can this be hacked ?
I like the UI of Pocket Outlook & do not want to use other mail client software.
I also do not want to forward mail to other addresses, nor use the gmail "recent" mode.
Option I'm trying at the moment is Pocket Outlook Mail Organizer, this allows me to set rules for gmail accounts on Pocket Outlook & move the gmail inbox mail to another folder after downloading.
This is a workaround but quite a tidy one.
Anyone developing other software to help in this issue or have good advise ?
Thanks,
Purely personally i use the IMAP setup for gmail. If this is what you are referring to as "recent" mode then it has obviously been discounted. If not then have a look it may be what you are after.
Most Gmail users are going for IMAP setup due to the conflict between Pocket Outlook & Gmails smart server software when using POP3.
I prefer the old POP3 setup, for my circumstances it's the best option but does not function correctly due to conflicting smart software.
The Pocket Outlook Mail organizer solves my problem at the moment but what i'm really looking for is a hack to implement size settings to "download header only" option in WM6.1 Pocket Outlook. I hate it when micro$oft go backwards rather than forwards with development !
Oh how I wish I studied software engineering rather than mechanical engineering !

Birthday's and Anniversaries

I've searched here and there, far and wide until the search button wore off my screen.
I have a Sprint Touch Pro running WM6.1 and Touchflo 3D.
I'm looking for an application that will scan my contacts for birthday's and anniversaries and export them to my calendar on the correct date for the current and/or upcoming year(s).
I've found several apps that are standalone or Today plug-ins, but I don't want the additional overhead of running unnecessary applications taking up memory.
Anyone know or have such an app?
I am wondering if you have explored the contacts page on your WM 6.1 .
If you would, you should see that you are able to set birthday's and anniversaries. So WM 6.1 will update the calender.exe to show that it's a recurring event.
And if you synch with the desktop, it should show on your outlook too.
At least, this is happening for me.
Thanks for your input. I'm aware that if I sync my phone through activesync with Outlook that it will put my birthdays and anniversaries in the calendar in Outlook and on my phone, but I don't own a copy of Outlook and have no desire. I rarely connect my phone to any PC except for the occasional file transfer or software install.
thnks
ill be using that

[Q] Using Android phone with desktop Microsoft Outlook

This question has been raised many times, but I couldn't find a single definite answer. To sync with Outlook there is software like Touchdown (albeit only for MS Exchange) and cloud services like Soocial and Funambol. Now, how do you sync ALL fields in Contacts, for example, if they are not 100% identical with Google? The later lets you name your phone numbers, for example which is impossible in Outlook. I am using Outlook both for business and personal, and it would be very difficult to move away from it, especially as my company uses it for business. However, I find WM 6.5, or Windows Phone 7, or Blackberry not particularly suited for my personal needs. So I bought Optimus 2X, but I have not started using it, because I don't know how to painlessly migrate to it from HTC Touch Diamond 2 with WM 6.5, which is seamlessly integrated with Outlook. I have about 1600 well-organized contacts, many tasks, recurring calendar items, almost all of them with applied custom-made Outlook categories. Filtering and sorting by categories really simplifies things. I am daunted by the task of re-categorizing all of my outlook items by hand. But I need to start using Android somehow AND desktop and laptop versions of MS Outlook with the categories I have set up. What is the least painful way to do it? I can't believe there's only me faced with this problem. Thanks for your help!
I set up my wife's droid with CompanionLink / Google. Don't know about categories or syncing with exchange, as she only uses local outlook. Checkout CompanionLink if you haven't already.
