Browse using a WAP plan???? - General Topics

I live in India, and Im using IDEA as cellular network. Here it provide 3 plans for GPRS connectivity on cell phones.
Have a look at them
I can subscribe to the middle plan i.e WAP plan of Rs.99/month n browse WAP sites on my Nokia, SE & motorola cell, but I cant do the same on my PPC beacuse it recognizes PPC as a computer.. Whereas I can use the 1st and 3rd plan on my PPC.
Guys is there any workaround for this.

WAP Flatrate - general questions

Hi,
I just got my XDA II mini yesterday and never dealt with WAP, etc. before. So, I got the WAP flatrate from o2 germany .. How can I make sure that I can't access normal web sites and am not being charged extra traffic?
Also, what about ICQ, MSN, Yahoo... do they all work over wap? Is there something like trillian for windows mobile?
Thanks

web n walk pro on t-mobile

I am surprised they block voip and messaging traffic or warn you you could be blocked.
Using MSN does not use much band width and the phone is supplied with MSN. What if your company use Exchange instant messaging.
or the new MS Office communicator.
Anyone know of anyone thats been cut.
I assume if you vpn to your office first then use voip/messaging it is harder for them to detect as the traffic will be encrypted.

How to surf net with Blackberry connect??

Does it possible to hack Blackberry connect on WM5 & Qtek 9000
and surf net via blackberry.net APN. I have unlimited plan on
Blackberry, and it is possible to use web browser on Blackberry
devices.
Well, how to use APN blackberry.net for surfing web??
thx
Maybe creating a new connection helps
Have you tried to create a new connection, in addition to those that came customized by your carrier, using the following settings?
APN: blackberry.net
username: rim
password: password
Maybe that works...

blackberry network / data transmission question

ok heres the deal. i have an 8525 and my company just made me get a blackberry. hate the blackberry and love the 8525. i did try and get the bb connect but the IT guy doesn't want to install the pc software for me (admin only privileges).
so i made a gmail account and set up my work email to be copied there and then set up my 8525 mail pop account to check the mail every few minutes so i have my own "push" email. my question is if i have a "standard" BES data plan for a company (don't have any idea if it is unlimited data or not) am i going to get charged any more or differently by using my 8525 to check the internet for messages or does the blackberry check for email different? don't want to end up with a $500 bill and have the accountants knock on my office door. thanks!
nathan
if you have any kind of data plan on you account, should be covered for your data usage on your phone. e.g blackberry personal max $39.99 includes 1500 txt & unlimited internet usage. tis plan works with bb push email on your ATT 8525 assuming you have the bb client install. aside from that you can use Smartphone connect for $19.99 include no txt & unlimited internet usage.

How to define connections profiles for each application

Hi guys,
I is there any way in WM or with the help of an application to define for each application which internet connection profile it should use?
The reason why I need this is the following:
I have a spanish Vodafone contract with an additional "Internet for mobile devices flatrate", but it has some limitations. To connect to the internet I can use 2 Profiles WEB GPRS (limited Speed when 150MB traffic is reached) and WAP GPRS (unlimited Traffic but limited to 100.000 connections per month...a number impossible to reach).
Most applications work with the WAP connections (Opera, RSS) but some only work with WEB (Email, Weather, Stocks), so I need something do define wether an application uses WEB or WAP to connect, beeing WAP the prefered connection as it has no limitations.
Can now one give me any usable information concerning this problem!?
