Uni keep searching for gsm network, cant connect - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro ROM Development

Hi folks!
I have bought a Pannon sim card with 3g internet access(Pannon is the 3rd carrier in hungary like vodafone and tmobile). My uni just keep searching for network after i enter the PIN. Its fully unlocked and supercid. Currently using a wm6 rom. The same uni works with the other 2 carriers sim card and the Pannon sim card also works in other mobile phone. I have noticed that in the network wizard there are no Pannon network under hungary panel.(But also no vodafone and uni works with vodafone card).
Is there anything that i can do with this? I am very dissappointed, now i have a 3g acces and cant use even direct push.
There are htc touch-s out there, i think i have seen them work in pannon network, cant some of you dev guys make uni to connect that network too?

Will a Voda 3G sim work on my XDA?

Hi Guys, thanks for reading, I am about to switch from Orange to Vodafone tomorrow.
I want to use the following deal.
http://www.e2save.com/mobile/phones/showBoxes.php?&B[0][next][0]=&B[0][handsetcode]=VODW900I&clickref=www.dailymobile.co.uk.w900i&referer=aw27684
I have been told sims from 3 won't work in my SPV M2000, will that be the case with this as it's Voda's equivalent to a 3G tariff? Or is that just something that 3 does to their sims? Any help much appreciated.
Vodafone only use normal (3v) sims for 3G unlike "3" in the uk who use usims, so yes you vodafone sim WILL work fine in ANY phone.
excellent, will press ahead then. Thanks
If all you want to do is use regular GSM 900/1800 on your XDA, then any Vodafone SIM will do the trick. If you want to use 3G, then you will need a 3G/UMTS capable phone/Pocket PC.

Treo 750 cingular worldwide??

I have bought locked treo750 cingular, my question is if i managed to unlock it via any unlocking services described here in the forum, will it work normally on any other network other than cingular without any problems or there will be some restrictions especially regarding GPRS and 3G??
And if I faced problems with cingular after unlocking, is it possible to upgrade treo Vodafone ROM?
Thank you very much for your help.
18 views without reply, am I asking a selly question? or no one of the forum has any answer for my question!!.
no offense, but the answers to all of your questions are here and out there on Google, etc. The 750 is a GSM phone, and once unlocked, will work with other GSM SIM cards/service providers. GPRS and 3G availability will depend on the service provider; most all provide GPRS a few provide 3G service. you may have to configure your phone work with other provider's internet service
I have an unlocked 750V that I use with T-Mobile and Cingular (US providers). T-Mobile doesn't have 3G service, so it uses the GPRS/EDGE connection. Phone features work without issue. Cingular has 3G and the phone works well there, too. hope this helps.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply. You are right there is a lot of speakings about that here and on google, but what made me worry is the words of a guy working in cingular or something like that who told that cingular has customized the OS to be strictly perfect with their service in US, and so on, it may be not working well in my country, hence i searched the XDA-dev and treocentral, most of guys who unlocked their treo is suing t-mobile and they are in US, while in europe they have the 750v, so they don't need to unlock the cingular version, except, one who unlocked cingular one and used his orange SIM and claimed that he was unabale to cutomize the GPRS sittings to connect with orange SIM.
I hope that you have got my idea, and I am still worried. Now, my specific question to u as having an unlocked cingular tro750, is the connections paramaters in Start--> settings ---> connections --> connections the same as other PDAs, so, theorotically i can customize it to work with my vodavone SIM. Thank you very much for your help.
you should be able to configure/customize your GPRS settings without an issue...i don't know about the other guy...

S710 with a Three SIM card

Hey guys,
My girlfriend bought a s710, and is on the UK Three network.
The phone is meant to be SIM free, and works fine with my Orange SIM card in, but not her Three SIM card. It says the card in not valid.
Any ideas? Is the s710 not capable of using the SIM card?
htc-s710
if the unit is branded htc then its sim free 100 %
if its branded orange spv e650 then its locked to orange uk
and then ur job will to ask orange uk for unlock code or to unlock it via http://www.imei-check.co.uk/e650unlock.php
gd luck
Cheers Motin.
It's branded HTC, bought from www.handtec.co.uk as a SIM free, but still refuses to accept her SIM card at all.
htc-s710
u should make sure all sim cards are clean from scratch
if they are u r off to send it back to htc for replace there should not be any problem with the unit and it should except any sim card
thanks
I don't know but I thought three was only a 3G operator? And the S710 is not a 3G phone. could that not be the problem?
htc-s710
i can only confirm to you i am using an orang 3g sim card on my htc -s710 and i have now tried 2 more sim cards that are 2.5 generation and all working 100 %
thanks
Yes but if it is as I think that tree only has a 3G network the phone won't work there since it is not supporting 3G?
htc - s710
now i fully understand you
my dear the 3 network is only 3g so any sim from 3 network will work only on a 3g phone !!!
thanks

Issue with sound solved, now how to fix roaming problem?

Hi,
I figured out that my wife phone rings the same melody regardless of the caller becouse her phone shows as roaming all the time. She has Vodaphone branded phone (unlocked) and using on Cingular network here while having old ATT Wireless card. This was not an issue with other phones she used before neither is with my Qtek 9100. Any ideas?
so her phone roams so uses the roaming tone? why does her phone roam when you are in your country?
I have no idea. It's Vodaphone branded phone and she hasl Cingular SIM card.
have you asked att/cingular about it?
Asked in forums and people suggested becouse it's European Vodafone branded phone, not sure if ATT will support this configuration
hmm. i have a voda 750v from the UK but i don't roam when i'm in my country. i'm in the philippines.
also my phone is not supported by my telco as well but when i had problems with my sim card they still helped me out. the treo was not liking my telco's new 3g sim it took them 3 days to find the phased out 64k SIM that did work. try cs u might get lucky

lumia 820 : No network on 2G (no problem with 3G/4G)

hello guys, I've a Lumia 820 (carrier EE UK). It is carrier unlocked and I can use any SIM card. My problem is, previously I could connect to 2G Vodafone network but, after some days, it is not connecting to 2G network. There is no problem with 3G/4G network (it happens with all other SIM operators too). I have a poor 3G/4G connectivity in my locality. Interestingly, WP Internals says my phone is SIM card locked
I tried hard-resetting, selecting network manually (it shows 2G networks but can't connect), I've even tried using different SIM cards and operators but nothing helped.
I did contact Microsoft Customer Support but, they too can't find out what's wrong with the mobile.
Please help me
