if you're just about to buy a new xda exec.. i suggest you be more familiar with your new device first before trying to install customized roms..
that way you will know which rom to choose when the time to upgrade comes....
you will have to try each rom for yourself...

o2 germany released a few days ago a WM6 Rom for the XDA Orbit: http://www.o2online.de/nw/support/downloads/software/xda/xdaorbit/index.html
The Xda Orbit has the same specification like the Prophet + an integrated gps-mouse.
i didn`t tried to flash, because i think that the update will recognize that my device is not an Orbit and i don not want to brick my device.
will a nvid-version of this rom work with the prophet?

sorry, but i don't understand you question!
I don't know much of the difficulties or lack of, in porting these roms but I suspect it will involve more than just the vender id. You're right, the specs are pretty much the same though. Wasn't there some updater or something for the wizard which let you use any rom? I might have dreamt or imagined it, but have some memory of people using it for prophet with wizard or some other roms, and having problems with buttons, or something? Anyone remember that.

Best is subjective, all depends on what you are looking for... Fully loaded with TouchFLO? Stripped down fast as it can with no unnecessary bloat? You need to seriously take a look at what you need, and then check out whats out there and decide whats best for YOU.

This is the WM6 forum. Try reading the posts in the Wizard board.

No one is going to explain how to upgrade. There are stickies that explain how to unlock and upgrade your phone. You should try reading them.
yup you should read the how to's first, then try the roms, there are a lot of roms to choose from, and most of them are in english, happy reading
Hi there, ive looked through all the different forums and am confused! (newbie type confused :S). I have an ) O2 Mini Xda S and it is currently running WM5. If anyone can help, please can i request two ROM file downloads.
1. The original ROM file that is currently on the phone incase i flash and do not like and
2. A WM6 ROM upgrade file and if possible WM6 proffesonal.
I would really like WM6 proffesional but WM6 (the origianl one) would be brilliant. It boots up on G4 (2.xx.000x) and this is what im most confused about, wheter the upgrade is for G3 or G4. please someone help!!! Also ive heard the faria upgrade is good but not sure whether to go down that route or not.

1. get the original ROM from your carrier. for instance, you can download the TMO version from their website.
2. read stickies before posting and follow this:

3. pick any of the many WM6 roms here and flash.
4. since you have a G4, make sure you read the part about G4 flashing in the above thread.

Do yourself a big big favour and read the WIKI HERE. There isn't much you can ask that's not covered here. It tells you how to do most things And welcome to the forum

Hi
For beginning, download the new Tomal v8.2 ROM and simply run the application. It has its own manual. You have to only synchronize your ppc with your desk computer before running that application.
For other upgrading things use "universal RUU" from the ftp site. There are many readme files for doing that too.
Best radio version is 1.15
Extended ROM must be configurable for yourself so study more before changing that.
Until now I have seen that Tomal's work is the best...
ROM flashing is really easy .... if you are careful

Actually you can't.
But I've made a procedure to Italianize the my 8502 that I think will work on the 9502 too.
If you are interested just let me know.

There is not a single non WWE rom around the web, there ist not a kitchen nor a dumping procedure.

this thread actually points out that, this site, xda-developers, needs to have a forum for imate 8502 & 9502 owners, not sites that take us, the owners, of these phones away from where we may get little support of our phone, instead of just using a beta version of wm6.1.
