It is certainly a problem of ROM, change it. But before doing so clean well your DiskOnChip with mtty 1.42 and then use a ROM with Radio included .
I had that problem before. It's one of the programs or registry hacks you installed. It doesn't happen just after flashing a new ROM isn't it? It also doesn't freeze in PDA/portrait mode, isn't it?
Anyway, I isolated my problem to HTC Home (not HTC Homeplugin). Uninstalled it & I'm back to using this Uni (Vodafone V1640) mostly in laptop mode & in any of the new WM6 ROM releases!
Just sharing to give you a lead where to look into, our devices are all HTC Universals but it's been proven to behave differently from one another on different ROMs. For one this G3 device doesn't have the SD Card problems that others are having!
Besides, except for the Video call I don't see any reason at the moment to go back to WM5, WM6 is faster & as stable now as WM5!
Good luck!
It hapends right after I instal wm 6 and it doesn't freeze in portrait mode
The problem apears right after I instal WM6 ... Wm5 works fine ...

Hi,
Can you try a new or another battery?
This solved my issues with frequent hangs.
I think these new WM6 roms are more "powerhungry".
greetings,
Wout
Hi,
i have been looking EVERYWHERE for software that would allow me to hang up a call after a certain duration(e.g 5 minutes) then automatically that same number back.
The reason for this is that my provider gives me 5 minute free calls. i can talk for hours but i have to hang up and call back in five minutes. so i want something that hangups for me and calls back straight away automatically.
PLEASE HELP. my bill is through the roof because i keep forgetting to hang up.
thanks!
there is a program called self control
i remember reading it somewhere i'll find the link
HELP!
I need the exact same thing, or at least something that will hang up my call before the 5 minutes (i can call back manually)
There is a program for Symbian called Auto Hang Up, but I need it for Windows Mobile (Im using v.6)...
Please help...
found it, only in symbian
Hi, I had a similar phone plan but very abusive, time starts running the moment I pres the "send" key. Before, with a SymbianS60 mobile phone, I used a program named Auto Hangup, which was customizable for incoming, outgoing or all calls and I was able to specify how many time before hanging up.
Since I have been looking for an application like this and with no success; I'd like to know if there is some one who could develop it or if there is some site where could be the basics for programming WM applications... or even porting the Symbian applicaton straight in to WM6; any hint
thanks in advance...
Wouldn't this totally piss off the people you are talking to?
Now I can understand trying to save on minutes but do you really plan on having an hour long conversation with someone in 5 minute chunks with constant redials?
After the 2nd hang-up I just would not answer the phone.

i need too
I remember one for Android, search for automatic end call (not exactly sure about the apps name) in marketplace
phoneAlarm can be configured to vibrate or play some sound after a number of seconds during a call. so this could maybe help you to turn off the phone in time...

How does it work? Great, well, ok, not working? Any screenshots?
The website is really lame and not inciting
Thx
HI,
When you download the App you adjust the settings to your requirements and then leave it to run in the background on your phone. If you need to hang-up at 5 minutes then you would set it to alert you say 30 seconds prior to cut-off and you would set the cutoff to be just before the 5 mins. The phone call will auto stop and give you the option to phone the person directly back.
Please do let us know if you have any further questions regarding this app.
Thanks

Yep, screenshots?
And one more thing I heard Call Limiter will not work properly on HD2 with proximity sensors disabling the screen on call. Is it true?
Hey,
I found this thread a week ago and started working on a solucion for android.
The program works with the simultator, but since I'm currently in vacactions I can't test the code on an android device.
Please, tell me if there is still a need for this program...
Edit: first version of the program: http://www.file-upload.net/download-3761631/CallLimiter.apk.html (use at own risk) If somebody wants the quellcode, I can send you a copy via email.
Hi, Thomme
Yes, I would love to have an app that recognizes the calling number, hangs up and calls back. Is it the functionality you are working on?
Thanks

I think that would be possible. on the 22th I'll be back at home and look for a solution.
Hi, Thomme
Any update on this app? Thanks!
Sorry for not responding.
I thought about your idea, but I have one problem: How do is the phone suppose to know when tu hang up and call back?
For example, if the phone is in your pocket obivously you wouldn't want that it calls back. Maybe you can explain your idea a bit more thanks
Yes, I thought about it as well
That's the problem of the feature. But, here is how the logical flow can look like:
1. Identify the phone number that the call is coming from
2. Pop-up a message on the screen: "Number identified. Call back?" Then if you choose yes, it hangs up and immediately calls back.
This way, although it requires human intervention by answering the callback question, it still saves the manual calling back which can be 1 or 2 actions, depending on the phone.
If it's too much work for saving 1 or 2 touch actions, you don't have to develop it. I won't be mad
I juste found this app for android : AutoHangUp
market.android.com/details?id=com.gestionTel.AutoHangUp
This application allows you to hang up and re-call after a pre defined time
bye

Hello,
My phone sometime hangs on incoming call. There is no ringtone, only vibra is vibrating (not normally, it's just constantly vibrating) . Nothing can be done. Only reset helps. I have tried several ROMs (6.1) and it's with everyone.
Any ideas?
Regards,
woocky
Well I too had the same problem with all wm6 roms... Doesn't matter what kind of radio I use. Always the same problem. Phone freezes with every second phonecall.
I have been around here a long time and tested all roms. It happens with all wm6 and 6.1
Some roms more or less but never stable enough for me.
Now I am back with wm5 and psidocs sdhc-cab so I can use my 8gb sd-card... The latest official rom (2.00.41) with radio 1.17 and sdhc-cab is 100% stable at least.
I have tried to find out why but it looks like no one knows the answer. Think it never happens on G4-phones only G3 like mine.
Of cource I have Super-CID my phone so that cant be the problem.
6.1 is too pretty to drop it ;-) Luckily it is not so often - max 5%.
Confirmed.
I've had the same issues with a number of WM6 & 6.1 images. Its very frustrating.
During my searches here I have found: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=333521
and as I understand it can be connected with mentioned issue.
I reported the same problem 6 months ago
I've taled to Laurentius back then and reported the same problem but Laurentius didn't manage to replicate the hang and therfore the problem was dismissed. This is why I quit using WM6. Now I use WM5 and it's ok. I new I was right....actualy sad. The error is not actualy random. I managed to find a pattern to the hang. Try to make a verry short call to the uni and hang up before the Uni starts to ring. This is when it hangs. If you call the uni and dont hang up cuickly it si fine....

Wow, that's really interesting!
I'm pretty much fascinated by the way of reproducing this error. I immediately tried it and it worked.
I once had this problem, but it never appeared again. But now I know how this can happen.
So the only thing I'll have to do is to tell my friends to let it ring.
Thanx for the hint
The problem has to do with HTC Home. If you uninstall it... no more hangups!

I wish it were that easy... At least not in my case. I never had HTC Home installed...
I'm more of a Pocketbreeze kind of guy that use pb as a base for the todayscreen with everything tabbed within it.
But I guess there could be some Today-program that causes the freeze in my case too.
Usually have Pocketbreeze, Phoneweaver, Pocketweather on todayscreen... WkTask as programmanager.
And when I have wm6 I always use RealVGA.
Same hangups with no HTC home or SnapVue
I´m running PDAViet latest rom now and still hangups (4 in a day)
I also tried Ranju´s V.4 & V.6 and same thing.
Now flashing to Ranju´s V7.7
Hope this ROM can be more stable
Cheers
Gracias

I can see you have Qtek 9000, G3... Thats exactly the same as mine...
Could it have to do with that?
Are there differences with the different models of HTC Universal?
(Except G3 and G4)
I have VPA IV (G3) from German Vodafone.

No, after exchanging some different views with other fellows, this incidence must have something to do with WM6 or WM6.1!
It also appears in different ROMs.
I became a couple of weeks ago the happy owner of a HTC Cruise bought with a personalized WM 6.0 Orange RO firmware. Unfortunately I had the great disappointment to discover that from time to time, even two or three times a day, the sounds disappear, I mean all of them – the voice of the caller, alarms, notifications, no matter if the device is on or in stand by. That happens with no apparent reason, in different times, even while I am speaking with a caller – so, while I am talking with somebody, all of a sudden the phone's sounds disappear - I am speaking but I am not hearing the voice of my caller who keeps talking with me. On other occasions, my wife or other persons call me, but because the phone doesn’t ring in my pocket, I am unaware it's ringing and I don't know I have to pick it up and answer.
Whenever it happens and I notice the issue, I soft-reset the device and the sound returns, but after a few hours the problem reappears.
I must confess that I didn't use the original rom at all, as soon as I got it, I upgraded to a a newer rom, at that time deciding on a pdaviet 6.5 ROM, using the recommended radio. Thinking it might be a ROM problem, I hoped switching to an official firmware would solve the problem, so at the moment I am using the official 6.1 firmware (I think it comes with it's own radio). The issue remains.
The only thing that remained constant is the hard spl - could that have anything to do with it??
Any ideas?
I doubt it's Hard SPL issue... too many users (with very various ROMs), and not a common problem.
It could be some software, since problem is not constant. Does problem repeat if using "naked" ROM - meaning, no additional programs installed?
so simple
Great idea! It was so simple it didn't even cross my mind. And you are right, it could be an explanation, considering there is ton of installed programs. I'll do a clear storage and keep you posted.
thanks!
I had de same problem. I beleave it is the radio. Now I have V.1.59.42.15 and it works fine.
I'm not sure...

I have (and had) the same version of radio, because that's included in the official htc wm6.1 rom.
Right now I'm testing the pda without any additional software installed, and up to this point I haven't noticed the audio bug. I'll wait some more and see
Nice.
Check my list of installed programs.
I have NO audio, BT or GPS problems at all...
i have the same problem with wm 6.5 roms. when i install any 6.5 rom. my polaris goes to silent.. then i reinstall any 6.1 rom it works fine..
Try other WM 6.5 ROM... if you have to...
Same problem here, with 6.1 roms bepe's one an the oficial of movistar (here in spain).
And no other adicional programs instaled. (except TomTom)
Hi I have Tomtom 7.918(9193) with v845.266 maps working fine un my HD2, but I have a lot of lag.
I need the tomtom working properly as I use it for work and the lag makes me mistake the turns and the exits. I´ve been looking around the web and forums and found nothing about it.
ROM: 1.49.163.2(original vodafone rom from spain, cannot change it as it´s a phone from work)
Radio: 2.08.50.05
I would thank any help.
Have you got Show POIs switched on? - this slows things down hugely. Switch off show POIs. If you want to see POIs, use the "warn" function instead.
1) As mentioned before - disable all unnecessary POI's
2) Have a look here This mod should decrease the lag
Thanks, will try it and tell u.
