www.cebeans.com. You need runtime installed before talking clock will work. I've attached the zip files for both. Double tap the talking clock file from zip, a folder is created named talking clock, copy or extract the rest of the files to this folder. You can assign this prog to any hardware button by tapping on the start menu/settings/buttons. Enjoy!

Thanks Ill install later and let you know how I get on!

Thanks hotdog
The software works fine, but the option doesn't come up in the buttons screen to apply the clock to a button.
I think ill find a female voice to replace the male on though!

Yeah I'd rather it be a female voice, too. If you decide to keep the male voice and to assign a button to it, copy the talking clock exe (not the whole folder) to windows/start menu/ programs. The app then should appear in the button assignment list. Sorry I forgot to tell you this in my post.

Anyone want to extract the long power press key from schaps rom?

id love to have this as an install.
Make your own. It's really easy. Take the shortcut to whatever you want to run using the power key & duplicate it (or you can use the original .lnk).
Rename the copy or original to Long_Power.lnk & move it to the windows folder.
That's all there is to it!
You can also do Short_Power.lnk, Short_Send.lnk, Long_Send.lnk, Long_End.lnk & Short_End.lnk.

Wouah...where did you found a such tips ...
i was actually looking for the app. similar to the htc end key that is in his rom.
thanks for the tip though!
He said it's only for his roms at the moment and I believe he doest want to release it yet because it will probably conflict with other roms. He mentioned it in his thread I think.
Just download HTC Endkey. Then rename the shortcut it creates in windows to Long_End.lnk

Let's see, I found it by playing around with .lnk names & looking into the files of AE keyboard. (Long_Power).
The rest I found in an amazing place called XDA-Developers.com! I was posted by a member who thought "Heck, let's take a look at the KB driver with a disassembler". This brilliant gentleperson is known as hma4!

He wants the POWER KEY application schaps made. Not the normal HTC end key.
Long press power key and "Turn off, suspend, screen off" etc options like this. Schapps developed it himself.
This has been discussed already. He will not be doing it at this time. Here's the thread.

volume Control skin

Hi,
I've been working on changeing the colors to the Volume Crontrols, but with a bad result!
Can anyone please upload the original "HTCVolumeControl.png" from the Windows folder.
No funny comments please ;-)
Or does anyoune have a nice set of colors to the volume Controls? I can only finde it for the THD, but not for the TD2 in VGA.
Thanks...
Here you go the original file...
Thanks a lot ;-)
These work on my Diamond 2. Credit to the person who created them (I can't remember).
Thanks again - it's guys like you that keeps this site alive!

Shout!
I realy made a total mess of my volume control when i tried to put some color on it. Now it looks like the attached screenshot - very small, and i can't get i back to normal.
Any ideas about what to do?
perhaps you have change a dll or something from a smaller unit (QVGA?)
I've themed mine without any problem. What I do is just use Fireworks... cut out whatever button I want to edit, paste it into a new image, edit it, cut/paste it over the original.
With the small size I think a setting was off or again, a dll file was replaced.
Okay, i got i fixed now ;-)
The problem was the the skin files was for QVGA and not VGA - as "Player911" mentioned.
So i changed the porpotion of the 3 files som they matched the VGA resolution.
To change the S2U2 volume controls:
1) Close S2U2 using the "iLock2" app
2) Unzip the attached files
3) Copy them to Progam Files\S2U2\gfx and overwrite
Now you have green Wolume Control's if you use S2U2 volume control.

[Lockscreen] LCARS Star Trek style Lockscreen (updated)

My first mod, the LCARS Lockscreen! Make your lockscreen resemble the panels on the Enterprise! Yay! Also included, the original files they replaced.
Ahem...
Anyway, here is a zip file of everything needed to make your own lcars lockscreen. It's a zip because apparently the cabs I had up here didn't work properly... Can't beat placing real files yourself, I guess. haha
-
Instructions:
First- Add files in the icons folder to windows\ directory in phone. Just the icons in the folder, not the full folder. Either use icons in the zip or install the icons cab file. Also, put the lcars.ttf font into the /windows folder.
Second- Add lcarswallpaper.png and LS_LockScene_480x800.cpr to windows\lockscreen.
Third, reset the phone and you're done!
I've also included the original files for what this mod changes in case you want to revert back.
-
I have no lockscreen mods, cookie's home tab lockscreen is set to the default lockscreen so it won't interfere, or anything aside from the memclock app as you can see on the top right of the screenshot so I can't guarantee it will work with any mods. Like I said, This is my first so I apologize if it doesn't work properly on your HD2. As far as mine goes, everything lines up perfectly.
Restart your phone and enjoy!
When you tap the slider to get your notifications, the calendar and clock disappear. I don't know how to keep them their the entire time. If anyone can help with that, I'd appreciate it. \
For people that have flashed their roms only, try either the cpr courtesy of SolShade posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7153849&postcount=58
Or the updated cpr titled "LS_LockScene_480x800 FLASHED ROM.zip" at the bottom of this first post. This one contains minor tweaks to SolShade's working version, plus with my anastasia rom, there was a gap at the bottom that wasn't black, so everything was shuffled down accordingly to fix that.
While I havent tried it out, it looks cool.
Grats.
Now to make an interactive home tab with a captains chair perspective of the bridge.
Dear,
i have downloaded and installed 3 cab. but its not showing anything but only unlock button beside start button only...
Sorry, rasumia. I've posted the full files, not just cabs, so they should work a lot better for you. Guess quickcab doesn't want to play nice with me. Anyway, also has the original files for a manual uninstall also, so no risk of goofing with your lock screen again.
Not somethine I personally would have, but still a great job with putting it together!
thanks for your quick reply...
i have tried as you have mentioned in the Readme.txt but still same problem. only unlock button shows.
i use CHT 1.7.1 with editor...could it be causing this?
it could be better if there is a final cab so it would be all easier for everyone... thanks a lot!
i am personally star trek fan. it would be very nice if we can have a complete theme with icons slider and lock screen...
i know its too much to ask but its just my idea...
I would love a full manilla okudagram refit, but that would be a lot of work getting the layout right... I would almost like to do that, but someone else would have to program it.
I have cookie's home screen 1.70 enabled but all the custom lockscreen stuff disabled, only using the default lock at the default settings there. Your signature says you have a custom rom, maybe that could be a conflict? Looks like in the logs that they did do things to the lock screen. I wouldn't think it would be much different than what I did but who knows. I wish I knew more and could help better but I learned just with tweaking the lock settings. I have a friend that has an hd2 with the stock rom so I'll know soon if it works on his.
huh ?
want to use this but dont know how to replace files in windows DIR, system says cant replace ??????
D.
Works great.
Here on my german stock rom there is no Icon folder, just copy those files into windows folder, the rest as statet in first post, soft reset and there you are.
To copy the files I've used resco explorer
The only thing that doesn't work is the notification button for missed call. I can see it in taskbar but not instead of button comm1
Live long and prosper

Which files won't it replace? The icons? Try adding the lockscreen480x800.cpr file and wallpaper and restarting. If it changes the layout to match the wallpaper, then try the cab here to install the icons.
When I did this originally on my phone, I copied the files onto the storage card, then with the phone, copied and pasted the cpr file into the lockscreen folder. I hope any of this helps.

Third, place the lcars.ttf font into windows\font. I saw instructions from here that said it could only be done by connecting your phone to the computer and adding it through activesync, but they could be mistaken.
Fourth, reset the phone and you're done!

Hey, great job.
Where can I get LS_LockScene_480x800.cpr?
Thanks.
Working !
weightlifter that file is in the .zip file from the first post !
All good here the .cab file made the difference, thanx !
D.
Using windows active sync for replace wont work but using fileexplorer works...
for i couldnt make it work yet still trying...
use .cab
rasumia i used the .cab file for step 1 and then did the rest of the steps and it works for me !
good luck !
D.
ok let me try once again =)
Sorry no luck at all...may when it is completed i will give a try... thanks a lot anyway...
Very nice mate. I hope you can get the notifications showing all the time, like you said. Also, it would be better if the taskbar could be either removed or replaced with something else of equal functionality. It just seems a shame to have it not fullscreen.
Other than that though, very nice indeed!
Incidentally, I used total command to copy the files around and didn't use activesync to copy the font, and it works fine for me.

I have the same problem as you have. It might be caused by Cookies home tab or the editor.

I turned off the CHT lockscreen and turned on the default lock screen (and then a soft reset, because that's what the editor does then). Then I just copied all the files into the relevant locations, as described in the 1st post.
I did copy all the files onto my storage card first and then used total commander to copy them onto the device, which meant that I could overwrite any existing files without windows moaning at me.
Incidentally, I do have both lockscreens working independantly. I turned the CHT lockscreen back on and that is now my default lockscreen (from the home tab menu, or from pressing the end button), but if I go to the start menu and lock from there then I get this lovely lockscreen
(I do then get the CHT one as well, when I unlock this one, so it's not perfect but at least I can see both of them working.)
hasn't worked for me, used the zip from the first post, when i lock the device i get the default unlock soft button and no lock screen atall

[Tool] Immediate soft reset on longpress endkey [updated info]

This file is used to have your HD2 immediately soft reset when you do a long press on the endcall key.
Why immediate? Because sometimes it happens that the device locks up in a way you can trigger keypad actions but do NOT see anything on screen (included the confirmation dialogue for the reset), that way if you need to reset you have to remove the back cover.
For someone like me, who switches the battery often, the least times it's needed to peel off the panel, the longer the plastic of the chassis will last.
So well, download this file:
View attachment EndKey.exe.zip
and RENAME IT TO EndKey.exe REMOVING THE .zip EXTENSION, it's NOT a zip file!
I am on an ubuntu laptop right now and since "compress" is not one of the options on the right-click menu I couldn't be bothered to open the archive manager and compress the file manually so i just renamed the exe for the upload sake
Then copy the obtained EndKey.exe file under \Windows\ overwriting the current one (which corresponds either to your stock actionscreen, or to whatever other utility you have installed that hooks on longpress endkey) and to test it just do a longpress endkey, the device should immediately softreset. If not, you got a problem
If you want to go safe, before overwriting the file, rename the original one
Credits for the exe file (which is just a softreset utility renamed to EndKey.exe) go to whoever is its author, I don't know Found this "SR.exe" file among the preinstalled apps on my custom rom so I thought I could as well reuse it for a more useful purpose
[UPDATED INFO]
Apparently this method met with favour a lot of you, and others suggested/integrated it to make it even more useful.
First of all l3v5y created a cab for it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6376602&postcount=5
If you still need to shutdown the device here and there several users suggested XDAShutDown, with several kind of skins:
1) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591149
2) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6389730&postcount=25
And browsing through xdaportal I found another shutdown tool that looks good as well:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6335326#post6335326
If you still want a confirmation dialogue before softreset instead of having it trigger right away:

Great idea, thanks for sharing!

Look. This is an app, that makes the "endkey" to reset the phone,
NOT the "switch-off" key.
So, if you want to turn your phone off, you simply press the power button on the top of you device.

How could have HTC simply forgot the "Soft Reset" function ??!
Ephestione,
Do you think it could be possible to add a confirmation message before soft reset.
I think it would be useful and more secure.
Many thanks

Well... I released this... err... "ripoff" for the HD2, we are not lucky enough to have a shutdown button on the top
Anyway, I was away just a couple hours and I see two pages of replies already, I am very happy you liked it fellas (and thanks l3v5y for powering it up with a cab)
Anyway, I'd like to reinstate that my job went only so far to check how longpress endkey function was managed, and renaming an exe file that someone else created... in the Creative Commons language, it would be a very simple derivative work Stil,l if you want to show appreciation, create a dropbox account with the referral link in my sig and I'll get 250mb more
EDIT: BTW, to restore the original action screen, stock from HTC; just delete the endkey.exe you copied/installed from cab, it will get replaced by a 80k exe which is the stock screen
EDIT2: @l3v5y, deleted my exe, installed your cab and moved it to sashimi's auto folder anyway you don't need to make it reboot, since the reset function is active right after the installation/filecopy

well, all I did was rename an exe... tell you what, there is a tool called "hd2connections" which is a collection of exe shortcuts to toggle BT/wifi, reset, shutdown, and stuff like that (search for it on xda).
You can talke the softreset exe from there, rename it to EndKey.exe, copy over to \Windows\, and you'll see a confirmation dialogue asking you if you REALLY want to softreset. It's in french, at least in my installation, but still comprehensible
Anyway, I expressely chose NOT to have a confirmation, because of the times I need to softreset, the faster the better, and this way if your screen locks up in a crash and you can't see the dialogue, you can softreset anyway (at least you should, didn't happen yet to test it )
great stuff, thanks a lot.

thank you, but it's not what I'm looking for
You could try to delete the following files from \Windows\ directory
HTCVolumeControl.dll
HTCVolumeControl.dll.0409.mui
I guess the volumecontrol then can't be found, and WinMo will use the default. Although I'm not sure if it will even work, it's certainly not the best way to fix the problem.
Make a backup first!

Ah, you mean you want the HTC volume control?
Then check this message, I had that problem a while back when installing a different toolbar.
Looks like the custom HTC volume control dll is not compatible with your ROM version. Navigate to windows folder, and delete HTCVolumecontrol.dll file, and reboot. You should get the stock one back.
