Which one is the best roms for magician ?

Hi !! everybody
I'm kinda new here. ...anyway, I'm waiting for my magician to be delivered next week. Can anyone tell me, which rom is the best rom for magician ? (compare for all brands - T-Mobile, iMate, O2 or what so ever) - which all aspects such as camera, bluetooth etc......

Your English is OK.
The T-Mobile ROM is supposed to be better than the Imate ROM because users of the Imate ROM complain about the speaker sound quality.

...but the T-mobile ROM is locked...or am I wrong... :roll:

The ROM doesn't dictate wether the phone is locked or unlocked.
The SIMLock does.
As far as I'm aware, the only locked Magicians are the T-Mobile ones from the Netherlands.
German T-Mobile MDA Compact is not locked.

I have bought my I-mate JAM from expnasys...and it is unlocked...so I can just update with the T-mobile ROM...and it will work as unlocked?....it is an English or German ROM?

The process of updating to the English or German T-Mobile ROM is not difficult but the guide is not very well written.
It's not a simple update either.

But wich one, I believe there are more then one englisch T-mobile roms flying over the net, or am I wrong?

I don't know how to change the extended ROM.
I used the English ROM fro the download on www.compactjam.com
One of the messy steps in the process is copying the old ROM's header to the new one.

After i read many topics in this forum.....I think each one have its goods and bad points.....so my question is "Is it possible to combine and flash different rom together?". I mean sth like main rom is from T-Mobile, extended Rom is from iMate, camara patch from O2.....sth like this

I don't get the ROM versioning
I have recently acquired a T-mobile MDA in the Netherlands (Yes, it's locked! Don't start 'bout it!)
I got rid of the T-Mobile skin and colours, so i have some experience at working with ext-ROM, but I don't get the versioning thing.
According to my system settings I have ROM version 1.01.00 WWE (ROM date 10/21/04)
Radio version 1.00.10
extROM version 1.01.124 WWE
Do I have a prehistoric ROM version or what?
Should I upgrade? (I hear that T-mobile rom's are good)
And if i upgrade to, say, an I-mate ROM should I use xda3nbftool to change provider settings. (what does that xda3nbftool do exactly?)

Device Radio Version: 1.11.00
working perfect with no more BT error messege: no Bleutooth device

I guess we could use the radio rom from the greek version at least? Could you post it so we could download it?

yes i share it with all of you... but not now... because i cant use all of my bandwith foe this... tonight i upload it on the ftp server named 1.11.00 greek... you can update all rom no only the radio... if your IMEI its not GREEK your S100 or JAM dont "speak greek" but you need a patch named "MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe" to replace with MaUpgradeUt.exe

this is rom for qtek s100 greek, it is modified by a greek company ( ace hellas) and only if your IMEI its from this company your pda has the greek language support if not you pda has only the english language in side...
now im clear?

of course and i add this...
if you go now to upgrade your device to other rom ( if you have device from t-mobile and you want rom from i-mate jam) on upgrade you will receive an error page " ERROR DEVICE COUNTRY" or something like this...
with this tool you can upgrade you magician device to anyone rom for the magician??? its not only for the greek rom...
and to be right the real name of this tool is MaUpdate_NoId.exe
and for this project i change the name to *no greek*

it's not up yet.....

i hope so too... but i think the greek customiztions are only in the ext rom..... not sure tho... i will upgrade then we'll see...

If the Fins can't get the ROM for us, then it looks like the Greeks can.
Say, why is it that only countries with blue and white flags get that update? Any israelis or scottish users got that update already? :wink:

dont have problem with this.... this app its on ext rom and installed automatic ONLY if you have buy this device from greece ( GREEK IMEI )

No offence. I was just making a funny (?) observation about the colors of the different flags. I am 100% unpolitical in here and will always remain so.

I never thought it would come thanks for letting us know :x downloading it now.
Of course this new rom probably doesn't contain any new upgrades to the phone than already known/listed on this forum.. but you never know
EDIT: As I tought: this ROM (the ENG-version) already exists for a while; it's quite old actually..

could you explore the rom and post your experiences here? just in case there's any difference with the swedish 2.2 WWE-rom or the AKU2.2 you made

They look the same, however they have put the latest Radio ROM in there, I havent checked it fully yet, going over some small things and the ext rom

a newbie question about this new rom from me. i tried to upgade my m600 (orange) unlockt G4 model. It has a CID lock but how i understand it that only limits you to use roms for youre country. I have a dutch (NLD) rom from orange so i thougt i could upgade. But the installation tels me that its not compatible! Annyone here who knows what to do?

How can I update my O2 Xda(UK) to the new ROM? The update progress starts when opening the downloaded files, but whit in a minute, I get the error invalid vendor id[294]. current ROM is a 2.15.x

try one of the CID unlock things (search the forum)... It provides you with all the files necessary to upgrade, except the nb.nfk (or something like that), which is in the rom itself. This is a bypass to the vendor lock....

Qtek S200 Upgrade - English Ver.
Upgraded my phone with the latest ROM release. My phone works much, much better now and it’s more stable than before.
A Major improvement, I use to suffer from phone suddenly switching it self off. Or when on charge with USB cable it would not come alive after disconnecting the cable. Highly recommending this upgrade!

Original Shipped NLD Rom

After updating the S200 with the new dutch rom update from qtek.nl I'm encountering problems with my device like that I can't be called after a while but signal seems ok and I could only receive sms after a soft reset.
I couldn't find the original dutch rom in the xda ftp.
I hope someone can upload this and that I could reinstall this rom (I hope that this will be possible)

What radio ver is currently installed?

This rom is installed:
PRO_DT_NLD_220732_22007112_024721_Ship
Radiorom: 2.47.21
I think the Qtek NLD original shipped rom can give a resolution to this problem, because with the original rom I didnt have this problem

Does someone have this rom?

this rom is WWE but intended for ASEAN HTC customer (formerly Dopod).
cannot wait to go home to cook with special recipe (i hope this rom is bugs free)

I have the Hong Kong TyTn II, and this ROM worked much better than the others.
Havent tried skype yet, but it doesnt seem to hesitate/pause between screens.
Overall, much quicker than most of the UK/etc ROMS out there. Maybe cuz my phone is an Asian Ver.
PS - i'm runnin HardSPL too. No issues there.

need a link please other than rapid share and megaupload i have file sharing sites restriction.

I am currently downloading this fromt he official HTC (Dopod) site for Australian, however on the installation notes, it mention this rom is only for Hutchison 3 network.

CHT might also refer to Chughwa Telecom, Taiwanese nr 1 carrier.
Though then it should be a CHT (Chinese) ROM only
Anyway, I am still not entitled for a 6.1 for my device bought in Hong Kong last year September.
