Hi, this is my first message. First i want to congrat the xda-dev team for the amazing fora
My problem...
I have a Qtek s200 G3 and want to update it to wm6. I have read the forum about the process, the roms, etc... and the update always goes to nice end.. a wm6 running on my qtek.. but the problem shows up when i try to use the contacts.
I open the contacts and only in 1 second the system close it, I cannot introduce a new one, I cannot do anything. This happens with fatastic mobiz 2.04b with PocketCm contacts installed as a cab. I thought it was a rom failure, but surprinsingly I installed another rom, trueneytral 1.4 and the same happens (this time without PocketCM)...
It seems I cant use the contacts... but why?
Best Regards

seems u have not done a proper hard set. the correct wayto do a hard reset is keeping the camera and comms buttons dipressed insert stylus into the hole next to the usb slot for a second or two. then remove the stylus butkeep the comms and camera buttons dipressed until u see a message on screen. then u may press the call buttom.
I think I have done it properly. I pressed both bottoms, insert the stylus and then remove the stylus holding the buttoms pressed.
Then a message show up telling me to press "send" to restore factory defaults or other key to quit..
I dont press "send" (that might be call button?) and press another to enter.. then the wm6 starts loading..
I have to say that all works fine, only the contacts..
any other ideas?, do I have to select restore factory defaults?
Best Regards

You don't have to reflash when this is your only problem, just do a Hard Reset, but in a proper way. Method 2 to do so is "Settings=>System=>Clear Storage=>1234=>YES".

I followed karhoe's Step-by-step pictorial guide to upgrade to Windows Mobile 6, and installed "Andot's V6 Perfect English Edition Windows Mobile 6 for HTC Tornado" with success on my Qtek 8300 phone (SP5M).
Everything works perfect except for one important thing.
When someone is calling me and I pick up the phone it takes 5-6 seconds before I can here anything. It is just completely silent before that.
Is there a solution to this problem? I have browsing through the threads but didn't find an answer.
Are you using any phone recorder softwaere in the background?
Did you update the radio?
Lastly, did you reboot your phone ?
Try to perform a hard reset if all fails
I was not using any recording software in the background.
I didn't understand what you meant with "updating the radio"...
and I rebooted the phone a couple of times.
I did a complete hard reset and the problems seem to be away.
I can't tell where they came from.
perhaps from one of these program's I had installed before:
HTC Audio Manager.cab
HTC Comman IR+WIFI+VOIP.cab
which I didn't install this time.
Thanks for the help
Try this, right after flashing, try to make a call

As I said, the phone is working fine after the hard reset.
Thank you for your help.
I've cooked my first Rom using Alex's tutorial but upon installing it, both times the device tries to auto-reboot, it fails, just stopping at a blank screen. I can reset my phone and it continues just fine. I did a quick search but don't see anything. Anyone have any ideas?

Edit: Sorry, misread the first time and answered a completely different question....
Which base ROM are you using? Some of the 6.1 ROM's don't auto reset after customisation, or is it stopping at some other point?

Could be radio related. Had the problem once
It's based on Alex.v5.WM61.HTC.3.03. I was following his tutorial though I did change the apps that are added. It died twice. Once after the initial setup when it wanted to reboot, and once after install my provider settings.
Another question I have is how do I get Ervius Package Creator to remember which packages I've added to a rom? I tried exporting the rom I just cooked but it didn't seem to help.

3.03 is *KNOWN* to have the soft-reboot freezing problem. I have not corrected any problems that were inherent to the ROM when releasing them as ROM folders.
i upgraded to duttys rom w/cube packge. Works great. one little issue though. The camera wont initialize. is there a cab file i can run to reset it without haveing to reload the entire thing? any suggestion would be helpful thx
Did you hard reset? Did you think that someone in the "pertaining" rom thread might be able to answer your question? Do you have a compatible radio? Lots of choices.
.......Sigh......
get a right radio 1.65.x.x or 1.27.14.09
camera wont initialize
rom version is 1.65.14.06, how do i hard reset? i dont want to lose everything

You can use the Factory setting, that will reinstall your HTC Windows. Start>Setting>System>Clear Storage (password 1234). remember take a copy of your mobile contact. bcaz it will remove all of your old setting.

the same here , i think it started after i upgraded to 2.3.4 that was released a few weeks ago, i had to upgrade using the LG official flasher , its a must to upgrade the baseband , its really annoying ,
im almost sure there is some secret code to dial that will disable this menu , that is enabled some how
at last , i fixed it , this time i took a little more time to think of the matter and i came to a conclusion , this matter happens due to some thing happened in the part of the FW that doenst get touched when flashing or wiping the rom , so reflashing the rom didnt fix it , first thing i did i made a backup of every thing using the custom recovery , then i went into the menu (the secret menu that keeps poping up) i got into it by pressing # which always happens to bring up that secret menu , after that i did a factory reset which is found in that menu , not the one you get into it from the settings icon , it took some time to reset , a lot longer than i thought it might take , just leave it alone till it restarts , after that you will find your self in the initial screen , like the one when you flash a new rom , just skip every thing and go directly to your dialer and press # or 0 and see for your self that its fixed at last , no secret menu any more , just a normal 0 or # , now you can do a full restore from the recovery menu using your backup , dont worry , after restoring every thing the problem wont come back ,
good luck every body
i cant understand this step i do it but not work pls help

just do a factory reset using the factory reset option you find inside the secret menu , not the one you usually use by going into settings >privacy
this will reset every thing , i mean really every thing , and it will go back to normal
you can do a full backup and after finishing the reset do a restore , yes thats right , this will not bring back the problem again
I appreciate all the great work
