Having Trouble Ugrading My Tmobile MDA to Windows 6 found here - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

Hello all! I'm new here and I recently became an owner of the Tmobile MDA. My problem is I try to upload that new ROM on to my MDA but instead of restarting after the completion of the update, it continues to show the 3 colored screen. I need help because I have no clue what's going on with this phone right now. Can someone help me fix this! Thanks

ok, i had looked at it earlier and there's some things that I don't understand. I just called Tmobile to see if they could do a master reset and that was no luck. so my phone is totally screwed right now and i really need help....

Did you read any of the upgrading stickies? If you didn't understand what to do, why did you proceed?
Re-read the upgrading stickies, then grab the T-Mobile carrier ROM, get into the bootloader, and reflash the carrier ROM. Just so you know, T-Mobile will not help you if you tried upgrading to WM6. You are on your own as far as they're concerned.

ok so how do i flash to my phone

This will be the only freebie I give you. After this, it's up to you to actually do some research.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298613
After reading that and doing some basic research on this and and upgrading board, if you can't figure out how to flash your phone back to the original carrier ROM you need to find someone who can and pay them to fix it.

You don't need to be a technician to do it. Just need how to read.....
Just follow this step by step guide :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=361039
It worked for me the first try...
Everything workes, TyTnII is unlocked, the problem I had was the Bootloader update, The SPL Updater V7 didnt work, (to get it to *.olipof)
After posting this SPL issue, Guif gave me a link right SPL updater, and now everything worksw.
Thank for the help, and I WILL donate to keep this possible!!!

Doesn't matter it will only tell you if you have root and not if the phone is unlocked. Two different things, what exactly are you looking for are you wanting to use it out of your country? That's what unlocking will do for you.
Clinton
Move it.
This isn't exactly where this should be posted. I'm not being a prick; I'm just sick of what's been happening more often than none since the release of the MyTouch. This section of the overall thread is flooded with "GENERAL" questions.
And for the record, the phrase "unlocked" doesn't necessarily apply to our ANDROID-based OS devices. ROOTED would be a more appropriate term because it's functioning on what is more likely to be LINUX as opposed to, say - SOME APPLE INC. bull****!
Excuse my French fellas.
If by "unlocked" the OP really didn't mean being rooted, the quickest way to check is to put in a SIM card from another carrier. No?

Sure, sure.
Indeed. Specify next time guy.
Test it as she has stated here. Toss in another SIM card from a GSM provider.
That's about the only way to validate the "unlocked" nature of the phone.

Well it doesnt really get any more specific than that, now does it?...And yes, just thought to myself this morning why not put a different sim card in the phone to see if it works.

Read the stickies in the development section. In essence you'll have to flash a custom recovery and then flash the modem and Rom in the custom recovery. You'll need to learn how to use odin and how to flash roms.

Radio aka Modem is controller software for the phones radio/modem (in this sense these terms are synonyms) hardware.
Normally it comes packed within a rom if it's a stock samsung/carrier rom, but sometimes you have to download it separately.
Yes. I recommend you to read through that whole thread. And also read the stickies in our android development, q&a and general sections (specially does labeled noob/newbie).
Good luck sailor :silly:

Right okay cool thanks for that. I have bad news for you, because your phone has a locked bootloader it cannot be rooted at this point until an exploit is found. I even had a look over in the At&T s6 forums and there's not much going on. Sorry mate.

That sucks but thanks for the straightforward answer. But there's really 0 options for me at this point? Not even downgrading or flashing? (Just some terms I've picked up, don't exactly know what those mean)

Unfortunately not, downgrading is when going from one version to the previous, due to how samsung setup their bootloader, trying to say go from nougat to Marshmallow is not possible so you will always remain on nougat. Flashing is commonly done via a recovery and a piece of software called odin, every phone has a recovery but most root things need you to have a custom recovery like twrp this can only be achieved via having root, odin is used to flash stock Samsung firmwares. Hope that helps a bit. For the time being my advice to you is to keep looking at the s6 at&t forums from time to time, at some point they may come out with a root exploit that works.

This is not the right place to ask for help with this... Check out the "guide" section... And ask questions In " Questions & Answers" section.
I think this is best method:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/guide-root-twrp-lg-v20-using-dirtysanta-t3722278
Others use h915 kdz.
Please refrain from posting on this thread again. It will make me regret helping.
Don't forget to thank people who help you in the thread with thanks button. Specially if the guide they made helps a ton. Note this will get rid of at&t software. I think there is way too restore it still but I have not checked for a while.

Is there any current way to unlock the bootloader on the LG V20 H910 with AT&T's latest firmware release? AT&T has locked diown the bootloader, and with LG no longer in the cell phone game, they aren't able to provide the OEM bootloader unlock code as well. A few people have also mentioned that the Dirty Santa no longer works on these devices. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. I tried it and its useless. Struggling to find a bootloader unlock process that actually works for the H910.

You are looking for help, because you don't know how to solve it. So we as a community need a little bit of cooperation from everyone to be able to understand if it's a limitation/roadblock of the method, or if you are doing something wrong for whatever reason.
So posting: "don't work", "it's useless" and anything like that not only don't help but discouraging others who read this threads. Tell the problem/error that you encounter.
I found another user who said that he flashed dirtysanta directly and once have TWRP he worked around it the downgrade flashing necessary.
As last resort you can swap the motherboard for one that is vulnerable for the exploit.
But if you wanna some one-click "I don't wanna have trouble" solution, I'm sorry that I can't provide that.

I have a clients device that needs to be updated, hence the search to unlock the bootloader and then update the device. The posts I come across, even new ones seem to be reposts of others work from before LG shut down their bootloader unlocking service, so ehen you follow their steps they don't work at various steps. I've been updating devices as far back as Android 1.5 and for some devices its a struggle to update them at all. Replacing the pcb isn't an option right now as the customer won't pay for it. Hence I scour various websites and forums for solutions as other post their success/failure in doing the same on this device. Too often I find people posting about updating their devices, only to find that they either already had their bootloader unlocked before LG shutdown their service to do so, or they just don;t reply to a PM about their process, hence they're fake posts, or old posts from years prior being reposted for no valid purpose. The amount of tim I spend to update peoples devices and test custom ROMs is actually fruitless in terms of money paid, but more for me to keep devices out of the landfills whenever possible. Every time I mod a device I make and keep notes, as well as the files used, stored on one of my NAS as I know I'll be doing it again in the future, including properly and fully testing custom roms to determine if they're actually working properly, or exactly what their issue(s) is(are), and I keep finding a plethora of bugs and issues with too many custom ROMs being pumped out before proper testing. I routinely turn down some device update requests when update steps are convoluted, fractured or even requirements are no longer valid. I'll keep looking around and trying various methods as I come across them. Thx.
No problems, I feel for you because I like to keep people using devices that otherwise would be discarded without real needs.
