Hi there, and welcome to the forum. You'll find it an excellent resource for your new phone.
The relevant section for the XDA 2i is here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=243
Have a good look around, and be sure to check the wiki (see the stickied posts).
Enjoy your stay!
or here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=249
You need to check if it is an Alpine in Device Info.

I lost previos thread so I am posting again!
Please can anybody give me a link to any easy rom update for my xda serra so that it will work on windows seven aswell as vista????
Thank you!
This section is for ROM development.
Please post your questions in the general section
I installed the release preview Windows 8 over windows 7. With that will I have to buy the full version of Windows 8 Pro or will I be able to buy the $40 upgrade? If I revert back to windows 7 I'd have to do a full wipe and I don't want to do that.
Is it bad form to bump for an answer here?

Yes - very bad form.
Firstly it's contrary to the rules of XDA.
Secondly XDA is a Mobile Phone development site, not a Micro****e support site.
Thirdly, if you really can't use Google or find a more appropriate forum for your questions then at least stick it in the right thread in Off-Topic.

A lot of new Android Forums ask you to enter you android devices as your register or have a place to add your devices in your details or as i do as xda does not seem to have a section for what android device you have, I add them to my signature, correct me if you do xda.
With so many different android device models even in the same subsection, Samsung being the main culprit, it does my head in when somebody asks for help without saying what android device they have in the post.
Maybe an message to all members
Anybody else?
Thanks
John.
